Max looked at the memory crystal with a curious expression, as this world really has many unbelievable things. And now, he had already become numb; new things just made him curious about them.

He didn’t hesitate and quickly held the memory crystal tightly, and then suddenly he seemed to feel lost in his thoughts, and a memory of the Dragon Slayer Spear appeared in his mind.

The various stances, breathing patterns, movements, and methods of controlling his body’s strength were all imprinted into his consciousness. It felt as though he had spent weeks studying and understanding the technique, carefully memorising every detail.

But he seemed to access the memory of the three moves Old Marcus showed him. And the rest seemed to be covered in fog and likely to only clear when he thoroughly mastered the first three moves of the Dragon Slaying Spear.

After regaining his senses, he looked at Old Marcus, who had the same calm, deadpan expression.

"I’ll give you one week to familiarise yourself with the Dragon Slaying Spear Technique. After that, I’ll evaluate your progress and decide how to proceed with your training. So, make the most of your time and train with everything you’ve got."

After saying this, he calmly left Max alone to do whatever he wanted to do.

Max listened calmly and looked at the leaving old man without saying anything. But deep within, he was determined to shock the old man in a week.

He didn’t waste a moment and started to try to use the Dragon Slaying Spear technique.

Meanwhile, news of the strength Max showed during sparring spread through different factions of the Blood City.

Although it seemed calm on the surface, even when a young master suddenly appeared, deep down that wasn’t the case. Different factions have different agendas, and it was just calm before the storm.

Many had been observing Max the moment he stepped into the Blood City. But what shocked them wasn’t Max’s strength, as they knew the power of the Blood Dragon Bloodline, so it was natural he was going to be good.

What shocked them was that the teacher arranged for Max was Old Marcus. The younger generation of the different factions didn’t understand, but the older ones who lived for centuries knew how terrifying that old man was.

He was someone whose strength could even rival the legendary City Lord, and nobody could order him around. Which is why they cannot believe someone like him was teaching a young brat who just awakened a bloodline.

All of them couldn’t understand why he would do that, or could it be a request of the city lord itself? But why? Why would the City Lord go this far, asking someone like Old Marcus to teach?

The Blood Dragon bloodline was indeed exceptionally rare. No one had awakened it in the past few hundred years, making Max’s appearance a momentous event.

However, even over the past thousand years, several individuals had awakened the Blood Dragon bloodline. Yet none of them had received such extraordinary treatment, let alone the honour of being personally taught by Old Marcus.

This made the various factions within the City of Blood uneasy and anxious, as there had to be something they didn’t understand, as people at the level of city lord didn’t do anything meaningless.

They quickly sent spies and people to find everything about Max, where he is found, and what peculiarities he has. They needed to find why there was such interest in this kid.

On the other side, in the training hall, Max didn’t know what kind of chaos spread within different factions of the City of Blood or what kind of terrifying entity Old Marcus was; instead, his entire focus was only on the spear technique.

He was standing in the middle of the training arena with the 100 kg spear. His eyes were closed as he seemed to be trying to replay the spear movements old man showed along with the ones from the memory crystal.

Then he suddenly opened his eyes and started to move with fast speed, following the exact steps according to the memory crystal.

"Armour Piercing Thrust!"

Max thrust his spear toward a metallic training dummy in front of him, following the exact trajectory he had memorized.

His movements were fast, and his thrust carried a hint of the mysterious power that Old Marcus had demonstrated earlier.

Bang!

The instant his spear struck the dummy, a powerful shock travelled back through its shaft, jolting his hands and arms.

He had failed to control his strength and speed properly at the moment of impact.

The dummy trembled a bit, but nothing else happened.

Max looked at the dummy, although he made a small dent, but it wasn’t anything like that of Old Marcus.

Seeing this, Max couldn’t help frowning.

Looking at this, he could guess it seemed it wasn’t going to be as easy as he expected.

And this was just the first move, and the other two were more difficult than the first move. It seems he had to train with all his might.

Meanwhile, at the heart of the City of Blood, two figures sat calmly in a garden.

Despite the distance of dozens of miles, both of them could clearly see what was happening at Max’s manor as though it were unfolding right before their eyes.

"You really are something; you dare to teach him the Dragon Slaying Spear from the start."

The two figures sitting were none other than the City lord and Old Marcus, who had just taught the Dragon Slaying Spear technique to Max. And both of them seemed to be looking at Max as he was trying to figure out the technique.

"If you said that he is the one, then he should be able to learn the first three moves within a week." Old Marcus didn’t seem to care about the city lord’s words and said calmly.

It was clear from their interaction that Old Marcus really wasn’t an ordinary person, as he didn’t seem to show any awe in front of the legendary City Lord who had ruled the City of Blood for more than a thousand years.
