[BL] Transmigrated Into A Fool To Seduce The Blackened Male Lead
Chapter 99: Being Recruited
Chapter 99: Chapter 99: Being Recruited
Sui Sui continued browsing the area. At first, he thought that perhaps he could just sell his pills directly to one of the bigger shops here, he saw that some shops were buying pills to resell, although the price would naturally be lower than the retail price, but it should still be reasonable, right?
With that thought in mind, he went to the largest pill shop in the city, MingXin Pill Shop. However, after asking about their purchasing prices, he quickly discovered that they only offered fifty Spirit Coins for all Low-Level pill, regardless of its quality or grade.
Seeing the purchasing price, Sui Sui became a little skeptical.
He quickly did the calculations in his head. One herb cost around twenty Spirit Coins, and the pills he refined required two herbs, meaning his material cost alone was already forty Spirit Coins per pill. If he sold each pill for fifty, he would only make ten Spirit Coins in profit.
Ten Spirit Coins wasn’t even enough to make the time and effort he spent refining the pills feel worthwhile.
Perhaps he would have been willing to accept the price if his pills were Low-Grade. However, according to Elder Jingyan, his pills were High-Grade, with their purity even lower than that of other High-Grade pills, so Sui Sui was naturally unwilling to sell them for such a low price.
What made him even more reluctant was the retail price.
MingXin Pill Shop was selling their High-Grade pills for around 120 Spirit Coins each. That was more than twice the price they were offering to buy pills from independent cultivators.
Of course, Sui Sui could understand why the shop was only willing to offer such a low purchasing price. MingXin Pill Shop most likely had its own alchemists, so they were not particularly short on pills. There was no reason for them to pay a high price when they could simply make their own. They were probably counting on cultivators who urgently needed Spirit Coins to accept the lower price without complaint.
Sui Sui was still wondering what he should do when he noticed something else.
Besides the larger shops, there were also independent cultivators selling their goods directly on the street. They didn’t have proper shops or even stalls. Instead, they simply spread a mat on the ground, placed their goods on top, and waited for customers to pass by.
Sui Sui stared at them for a moment.
Then, his eyes suddenly lit up.
He had an idea.
If the shops were unwilling to give him a reasonable price, then why not sell the pills himself?
—
That afternoon, a new figure appeared in one of the more inconspicuous corners of the northern street of Linfeng City.
His face was partially concealed beneath a gauze veil, while he wore a set of ordinary white robes that did little to attract attention. However, the pair of peach-blossom eyes visible above his veil were exceptionally captivating. Their naturally curved peach blossom shape gave them a faintly smiling appearance, and when combined with the veil hat, they gave him a delicate and subtly alluring androgynous beauty.
This person was, of course, Sui Sui.
After wandering around for a while, he had finally managed to find an empty spot. Unfortunately, all the better locations in the main area had already been taken, leaving him with no choice but to settle near the edge of the shopping district, where far fewer people passed by.
Sui Sui took out a clean cloth from his pouch and spread it neatly on the ground. He then pulled out a piece of parchment and a brush from his pouch.
He sat down on the ground and began writing something on that parchment of paper, unfortunately, he was clearly not used to writing with a brush. His strokes were somewhat stiff and uneven, and it took him a while to finish writing everything down.
Once he was done, he placed the parchment prominently on the cloth before taking out his pill bottles and arranging them neatly beside it.
The parchment read:
For Sale: Pills
Fasting Pills: 80 Spirit Coins each / 750 Spirit Coins per bottle
Spirit Recovery Pills: 100 Spirit Coins each / 950 Spirit Coins per bottle
Sui Sui had nine bottles in total, with ten pills in each bottle. Six bottles contained Fasting Pills, giving him sixty pills altogether, while the remaining three bottles contained thirty Spirit Recovery Pills.
When he was observing the other shops and stalls, he saw that the price were usually around one hundred to one-hundred twenty for the pills, he had deliberately priced his pills lower than those sold by MingXin Pill Shop, while keeping them roughly in line with the prices offered by other independent sellers.
He of course went with the trend of lowering price because he still needed to make his prices attractive enough to draw customers, although it was this low, it was still much better, there was no way he was going to lower them to the fifty Spirit Coin purchasing price offered by MingXin.
After all, his pills were High-Grade.
In Sui Sui’s opinion, eighty to one hundred Spirit Coins per pill was already a reasonable price, if it sold well, then he might try to higher the price in the future.
He already calculated, if he managed to sell everything at his current prices, he should be able to earn around seven thousand Spirit Coins or seven hundred spirit stones, this should be enough to buy everything he needed.
The problem was—
How was he supposed to actually sell them?
As a complete beginner with absolutely no experience in selling things, Sui Sui had no idea how to attract customers. He could only watch the other stall owners for a while before trying to imitate them.
"Fellow Cultivator, come take a look at my pills, guaranteed better quality!" He raised his voice and tried his best to sound enthusiastic.
A few people indeed stopped and glanced toward his stall and Sui Sui immediately became hopeful, but the moment they noticed that he was only selling Low-Level pills, their interest disappeared almost instantly.
"Low-Level pills?"
"Let’s go."
"There are better ones in the bigger shops."
One after another, they walked away without even bothering to inspect the pills or check their grades.
Sui Sui’s enthusiasm slowly faded, he had not expected selling pills to be this difficult.
After almost an entire afternoon without making a single sale, Sui Sui was becoming increasingly disheartened with each passing minute. He had even offered free samples, but no one seemed interested enough to take them.
At this point, Sui Sui was seriously considering whether he should lower his prices a little more.
Just as he was debating this, a pair of women’s shoes suddenly appeared in his field of vision.
Sui Sui looked up.
Standing before his stall was a beautiful woman dressed in light pink robes embroidered with delicate peach blossoms. She had a pair of almond-shaped eyes and a small mole on her cheek, giving her an especially eye-catching appearance. Her delicate features and graceful appearance made her look like a beauty straight out of a painting.
Seeing a potential customer finally stop in front of his stall, Sui Sui immediately perked up. He quickly straightened his posture and put on what he hoped was a friendly, professional smile.
"Hello, Fellow Cultivator. Would you be interested in buying some pills?" he asked, quickly launching into the sales pitch he had practiced countless times. "I have Fasting Pills and Spirit Recovery Pills. Since you’re my first customer, I can even give you a ten percent discount. They’re affordable and guaranteed to be high quality!"
He delivered the lines with surprising fluency, clearly having memorized them beforehand. He even gave her an enthusiastic smile, hoping that his carefully rehearsed sales pitch would finally bring him his first customer.
The woman, however, did not seem particularly interested in his pills.
"Hello, my name is He Rui. Would you like to join our sect?" the girl asked enthusiastically, her eyes fixed intently on Sui Sui. She stared at him with such obvious curiosity that it almost seemed as though she wanted to reach through the gauze veil and see what was hidden beneath it.
Hearing her words, Sui Sui was caught completely off guard by the sudden question. "Eh?"
Seeing his bewildered expression, He Rui finally realized how abrupt she had been. She quickly waved her hands and apologized.
"Ah, sorry! I just can’t help myself whenever I see someone good-looking."
Hearing the unexpected compliment, Sui Sui immediately felt his ears grow warm, he lowered his head slightly, suddenly feeling a little embarrassed.
He had not expected that selling pills would somehow turn into someone complimenting his appearance and inviting him to join their sect?
"Anyway, let me introduce myself properly. My name is He Rui, and I’m the Second chief disciple of the He Huan Sect. I was delivering some things from the sect to the bookstores here when I happened to see you from across the street."
She smiled brightly, her eyes still lingering on Sui Sui with obvious interest.
"I thought you looked really good, so I couldn’t help wondering if you already have a sect. If you don’t, would you be interested in joining the He Huan Sect? I think you would definitely shine there."
Hearing the name He Huan Sect, Sui Sui’s mind immediately returned to the contents of the novel.
Of course.
This was a cultivation world. Naturally, there would be a sect like the He Huan Sect.
The He Huan Sect was none other than the famous Dual Cultivation Sect.
