Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Painting

The He Huan Sect was a sect that practiced Dual Cultivation as a means of improving their cultivation. It was also famous throughout the Human Realm for gathering some of the most beautiful cultivators, both men and women.

However, despite its reputation for its rather promiscuous style of cultivation, the He Huan Sect was by no means weak.

There was a rumor that the founder of the He Huan Sect was a member of the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan from the Beast Realm. Although the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan was not one of the five strongest beast clans, it was still an extremely powerful clan with extensive connections to many other beast clans.

Because of this connection, the He Huan Sect also adapted their ways and learned the ways of the Fox Clan, also gaining considerable influence within the Human Realm.

One of the main reasons for this was their practice of marriage alliances.

Among the powerful sects and prominent families of the Human Realm, it was said that six out of ten had a member of the He Huan Sect married into them. Over the years, these connections had allowed the sect to build an enormous network of relationships throughout the cultivation world.

As a subsidiary sect of the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan, the He Huan Sect had inherited the Fox Clan’s dual cultivation technique that has been practiced for thousands of years, guaranteed to provide good result, while also inherited some other of the fox clan’s technique, particularly their mastery of illusion techniques. Their skills in illusion magic were exceptionally profound and were said to be no weaker than those of the Qingmei Demon Clan.

In the original novel, there was also one more important character from here, there is a female lead from the He Huan Sect.

Her name was He Ruolan.

She is the most talented disciple of her generation and possessed a physique extremely close to an Extreme Yin Body, similar to maybe the City Lord Xu’s Constitution. She was also one of the most beautiful women in the Human Realm. She has earned a reputation as a seductive beauty, however, despite that she unexpectedly actually had a pure heart.

She was not one of the more important female leads with extreme plot surrounding her, but she was certainly one of the most persistent.

He Ruolan had fallen in love with Yizhou at first sight.

As a disciple of the He Huan Sect, she had been taught from a young age that finding a powerful partner was an important part of their cultivation. After seeing Yizhou’s extraordinary talent, she immediately set her sights on him.

Unfortunately for her, Yizhou was simply too firm-hearted.

No matter how much she tried to approach him, he remained completely unmoved.

But He Ruolan was not someone who gave up easily, she had once declared that as long as Yizhou did not have a Dao Companion, she would never give up on him.

Unfortunately for her, Yizhou really did not take a Dao Companion in his lifetime.

So she waited.

She waited for years, holding onto the same obsession as time passed.

It was almost ironic. He Ruolan was the most promising disciple the He Huan Sect had produced in generations, yet she ultimately never managed to Dual Cultivate even once in her entire lifetime.

All because she had stubbornly waited for one man.

Truly, what a sin.

"So, what do you think? Would you like to join our sect?" He Rui asked, finally snapping Sui Sui out of his thoughts.

"Ah, sorry." Sui Sui quickly shook his head. "I already have a sect, and I don’t have any plans to join another sect for now." He rejected her as politely as he could, he didn’t expect to meet a member of the He Huan Sect this early.

Hearing his rejection, He Rui’s shoulders immediately drooped in disappointment.

What a pity, Such a peerless beauty! If someone like him joined the He Huan Sect, he would definitely become one of their top-tier beauties.

Although he was still young, and his face was mostly hidden beneath the gauze veil, so his appearance had not fully matured yet. But He Rui had an excellent eye for beauty. From the proportions of his bones, the shape of his eyes and eyebrows, and the overall harmony of his features, she could already tell that he would become even more stunning once he grew older.

Perhaps he could even become the number one beauty under the heavens?

The more He Rui thought about it, the more reluctant she became to give up on him.

Still unwilling to give up on the opportunity, He Rui suddenly thought of another idea.

"Then... can I paint a portrait of you?" she asked. "I like collecting portraits of beautiful people. I want to preserve their beauty forever."

Sui Sui looked at her somewhat skeptically. The request was certainly strange, but before he could refuse, He Rui quickly added, "If you agree, I’ll buy one bottle of each of your pills."

Sui Sui’s hesitation immediately disappeared. "Deal."

And so, in that quiet little corner of the street, the two of them sat side by side.

Sui Sui carefully removed his gauze veil, finally revealing his face in full.

The moment He Rui saw his full face, she almost sucked in a breath.

He was even more beautiful than she had imagined.

The youth’s beauty was not the seductive, alluring kind that one would normally associate with the He Huan Sect. Instead, there was something pure and ethereal about him, like a white moonlight that could only be admired from afar. His beauty carried the quiet elegance of a solitary flower blooming beneath the night sky, delicate and untouchable.

It was also difficult to describe him as either masculine or feminine. His appearance seemed to exist somewhere beyond such distinctions, possessing a beauty that transcended gender.

He Rui’s eyes immediately lit up.

She became completely energized, quickly taking out a canvas and brush before beginning to paint.

Sui Sui sat quietly, doing his best not to disturb He Rui while she painted.

Still, he couldn’t help feeling a little embarrassed.

He had never really considered himself the handsome type. In Sui Sui’s mind, someone truly handsome should look more like his brother Suichen or the protagonist Yizhou—tall, sharp, and well-defined, with an imposing presence that naturally drew people’s attention.

Compared to Yizhou, Sui Sui felt that he was too short and lacked even the slightest bit of sharpness. His appearance simply didn’t fit his personal definition of what a handsome man should look like.

But since He Rui was willing to buy his pills just to paint him, there was no reason to refuse.

Besides, it wasn’t as though letting someone paint a portrait of him would hurt.

So Sui Sui simply sat there obediently and let her paint.
