Chapter 101: Chapter 101: Sold-Out

After a while, the unusual scene began to attract attention.

Several cultivators passing by slowed down and gathered around, curious about what He Rui was doing. Some of them seemed to recognize her and had clearly come over just to see what was happening.

He Rui, however, paid them no attention. She remained completely focused on her painting and quickly finished the final strokes.

Once she was satisfied with the result, she turned the canvas toward Sui Sui with a proud smile.

"Look! Isn’t it good?"

Sui Sui looked at the painting and had to admit that it was truly lifelike. The painting captured his appearance so accurately that, for a moment, he almost felt as though he were looking into a mirror.

"It really is very good," Sui Sui said sincerely. "Thank you very much for painting a picture of me. It’s an honor."

The surrounding cultivators also began praising He Rui’s painting skills, while several couldn’t help commenting on Sui Sui’s appearance as well.

"He really is good-looking."

"I didn’t even notice him earlier."

"Who would have thought there was such a beauty sitting here?"

Most of them had barely paid attention to Sui Sui before. His gauze veil had concealed most of his appearance, and he had deliberately kept a low profile while sitting in such an inconspicuous corner.

Now that the veil had been removed, however, they finally saw his face clearly.

Only then did they realize that the seemingly ordinary person they had been walking past all afternoon was actually a peerless beauty.

He Rui quickly waved off his thanks with a bright smile.

"No need to thank me. It’s my pleasure. Looking at beautiful people is basically my hobby, hehe." She then remembered their agreement and turned her attention toward the pills on Sui Sui’s hands "As promised, I’ll buy two bottles. Give me one bottle of Fasting Pills and one bottle of Spirit Recovery Pills."

She then handed Sui Sui twenty Spirit Stones.

"Here. Keep the change."

Sui Sui’s eyes immediately lit up when he saw the Spirit Stones. "Thank you!" He quickly accepted them, his earlier embarrassment forgotten.

After putting away the two bottles of pills, He Rui turned to leave. But before she disappeared into the crowd, she suddenly looked back at him. "Oh, and remember, if you ever change your mind, you’re always welcome to join the He Huan Sect."

With that, He Rui finally left. Sui Sui watched her disappear into the crowd before turning his attention back to his little stall.

After He Rui left, several of the onlookers began paying closer attention to Sui Sui’s little stall. They had already noticed that his prices were lower than those of the other sellers, and after seeing He Rui purchase two bottles, one cultivator finally decided to give his pills a try.

"I’ll take one Spirit Recovery Pill," the cultivator said, handing one hundred Spirit Coins to Sui Sui, Sui Sui accepted the money and took out a pill from one of the bottles before handing it over.

The moment the pill appeared, a rich medicinal fragrance spread through the air. Its deep green color was especially striking, with a faint luster that immediately caught the attention of the surrounding cultivators.

The customer stared at it in surprise. "It’s actually a High-Grade pill?" His voice was loud enough for the nearby cultivators to hear.

"What? High-Grade?"

"Let me see!"

Several people immediately craned their necks, trying to get a better look at the pill.

Once they confirmed that it really was a High-Grade pill, the atmosphere around Sui Sui’s stall instantly changed.

A Low-Level High-Grade pill was normally worth around one hundred and twenty Spirit Coins, and such pills were relatively rare on the market as most cultivators who managed to obtain High-Grade pills would rather just keep them for themselves rather than sell them.

Yet Sui Sui was selling his for only one hundred Spirit Coins.

That was an extremely attractive price.

Word quickly spread through the surrounding streets, one customer became two, two became five and before long, cultivators were beginning to crowd around Sui Sui’s little stall, all asking about his pills and trying to buy them before they sold out.

Sui Sui was completely overwhelmed by the sudden surge of customers, he had spent almost the entire afternoon struggling to attract even one buyer, and now he could barely keep up with everyone. Fortunately, he had already arranged his pills in separate bottles, so he quickly handed them out one after another while collecting the Spirit Coins.

"Fasting Pills? One bottle, please!"

"I want two Spirit Recovery Pills!"

"Are there any more High-Grade pills?"

"Yes, yes, one at a time please!" Sui Sui hurriedly replied, his hands moving almost too quickly to keep up as the once-deserted corner became unexpectedly lively.

By the time the crowd finally dispersed, every single pill Sui Sui had brought with him had been sold.

Sui Sui stared at the empty stocks for a moment: He had actually sold everything.

He quickly packed up his cloth, empty bottles, and other belongings, then stored everything back into his pouch.

It seemed that his first attempt at selling pills had gone much better than he expected.

With that thought, Sui Sui left the little corner and continued on his way to take care of the other things he needed to buy.

—

Meanwhile, He Rui had already left the city when she suddenly stopped in her tracks as something had just occurred to her.

"Oh no!" She had completely forgotten to ask for that little beauty’s name!

He Rui immediately turned around and hurried back toward the city, unfortunately, by the time she returned to the place where Sui Sui’s stall had been, the little corner was already empty.

The cloth on the ground was gone, the pill bottles were gone and so was the person she had been looking for.

He Rui stood there for a moment, staring at the empty spot in disbelief.

"He disappeared so quickly?"

She looked around, but there was no sign of Sui Sui anywhere.

He Rui could only sigh in disappointment.

She had finally found such a person, yet she had forgotten to ask his name.

What a pity.
