Chapter 104: Chapter 104: Farming

The next day, when Sui Sui woke up, he quickly freshened up and prepared to return to the sect. As soon as he arrived, he went straight back to his room and entered his private dimension, bringing along the seeds and farming tools he had bought.

The moment he entered, he was greeted by the familiar sight of MuMu and the Lake Spirit playing together. As soon as MuMu noticed him, he immediately stopped playing and flew over.

"Sui Sui, do you have food for me?" MuMu asked eagerly.

Sui Sui couldn’t help wondering if this little guy really knew how to think about anything besides food. Ever since tasting real food, MuMu had completely stopped paying attention to the weeds growing around the dimension.

"Yeah, I brought some."

Sui Sui reached into his storage pouch and took out several freshly bought pastries. He had barely held them out before MuMu’s eyes lit up.

"Food!"

The little beast immediately flew over and snatched them away, hugging the pastries to his chest before happily stuffing one into his mouth.

Sui Sui couldn’t help laughing at how easily satisfied he was.

"Slow down. No one’s going to take them from you."

MuMu only hummed happily around the pastry, clearly too busy eating to answer.

Once he was sure MuMu was occupied, Sui Sui finally got to work.

He decided to start with the fruit saplings. They were much easier to handle than the countless herb seeds, so he carried the three saplings to a suitable spot and began preparing the ground.

He dug three holes with enough distance between them to give the trees room to grow, then carefully planted the apple, peach, and mango saplings one by one. After making sure they were firmly planted, he watered them with diluted Spirit Water from the lake.

After finishing with the saplings, Sui Sui turned his attention toward the area where he planned to grow the herbs. However, there was one small problem—the entire patch was covered in weeds. He had no choice but to clear them first, so he rolled up his sleeves and began pulling them out one by one. By the time the afternoon passed, his back was practically breaking from all the bending and pulling, yet he had barely cleared a portion of the field.

Just as Sui Sui was beginning to wonder how much longer this would take, MuMu flew over and tilted his little head, watching him curiously.

"MuMu has been wondering," he said innocently, "why didn’t Sui Sui just ask MuMu to do it for you?"

Sui Sui paused and looked up at him in surprise.

"Eh? What do you mean? You can do it?"

"Yeah!"

As if to prove it, MuMu turned toward the weeds covering the ground. He opened his tiny mouth, and the next instant, a powerful gust of wind suddenly erupted around him.

The weeds began to sway violently, their roots being pulled from the soil as though they were caught in an invisible vortex. One after another, the weeds were swept toward MuMu’s mouth, disappearing inside without a trace.

Sui Sui’s mouth slowly fell open as he watched.

He had expected MuMu to have some way of helping, but he certainly hadn’t expected him to simply eat all the weeds.

More importantly, how could such a tiny body possibly swallow so many weeds that were several times larger than him?

Sui Sui stared at the little beast in disbelief.

This kid was much stronger than he had expected.

With the weeds finally gone, Sui Sui could finally start planting. He first selected the seeds for the herbs needed to refine the three pills he had been working on, then chose several other varieties that he thought might be useful in the future. He carefully planted each one, spacing them out so they would have enough room to grow.

As he worked, MuMu flew lazily around the field, occasionally coming over to ask questions. He had always been curious about the outside world, and now that Sui Sui was here for a while, he seemed to have endless things he wanted to know.

"So, is it true that the outside world doesn’t only have a moon, but also something called the sun?" MuMu asked excitedly. "What is the sun like? And I heard there is also something called night. What is night? How does that work?"

The private dimension only had a moon, and the sky remained bright throughout the day without ever becoming truly dark. Naturally, MuMu was extremely curious about how the outside world worked.

"Yeah. The sun is very big and bright. It shines golden light across the sky, making everything beneath it glow." Sui Sui smiled as he explained. "And night is when the sky gradually turns dark after the sun disappears. Once the darkness settles, countless stars will appear overhead, twinkling like tiny specks of light. They surround the moon and make the whole sky look beautiful."

MuMu listened with wide eyes, his little body slowly leaning closer as though he were afraid of missing a single word. "Stars? What are stars?"

"Stars are like gems in the night sky. The sky is filled with them. Some are brighter than others, and some are so faint that you can barely see them. But when they all appear together, it looks as though someone scattered countless little gems across the darkness."

MuMu’s mouth fell open in amazement. "Wow..."

Sui Sui smiled at his reaction before continuing, "The prettiest time is probably during sunrise and sunset. That’s when day and night change places. The sky turns different shades of gold, orange, pink, and purple, and the light makes everything look softer and more beautiful."

MuMu listened with complete concentration, his eyes shining as though he were already imagining the scene.

"Wow! That sounds so cool!" he exclaimed. "The outside world has a sun, a moon, stars, and colorful skies too?"

"That’s right."

"Then what else is there? Are there big mountains? Rivers? Forests? More delicious food?"

Sui Sui could not help laughing. "There are plenty of mountains, rivers, and forests. As for delicious food, there are even more varieties than you can imagine."

MuMu immediately became even more excited.

The two of them continued talking for a long while. Sui Sui told MuMu about the things he had seen and heard outside, including the bustling streets, strange creatures, beautiful scenery, and all kinds of food. Every story only made MuMu more curious, and he kept interrupting with one question after another.

By the time Sui Sui finally ran out of stories, MuMu was already practically bouncing in the air.

"Ohhh, I wish I could go outside someday!" he said, his voice filled with longing.

Hearing this, Sui Sui suddenly fell into thought.

Perhaps he really should take MuMu outside someday.

Keeping the little beast cooped up inside the private dimension all the time wasn’t necessarily a good thing. MuMu had already spent so long here that he barely knew anything about the outside world. If he wanted MuMu to grow properly, he should at least let him experience the world beyond this small space and learn how to interact with other people and cultivators.

Besides, MuMu was already curious about everything outside.

Seeing how excited he had become just from hearing about the sun, stars, and night, Sui Sui couldn’t help feeling a little reluctant to keep him confined here forever.

After thinking it over, Sui Sui looked at the little beast beside him.

"MuMu, do you want to go outside someday?" he asked tentatively.

The moment those words fell, MuMu’s eyes instantly lit up. "Really?!"

His little body shot upright, and he hurriedly floated closer to Sui Sui, his large round eyes shining with excitement. "Can I? Can I? Can I?"

He clasped his little paws together and looked up at Sui Sui with an irresistibly pleading expression "Pretty please?"

Sui Sui stared at his sparkling eyes and immediately felt his resolve weakening.

This little fellow really knew how to act cute.

Sui Sui couldn’t help but laugh at MuMu’s excited reaction.

"Alright, how about this? If you help me finish planting all these herbs, I’ll take you outside the next time I leave the sect. Deal?"

MuMu’s eyes immediately sparkled. "Really?!"

His little body practically bounced in the air as excitement took over. He flew straight toward the herb field, looking more motivated than he had ever been.

"MuMu will help! MuMu will help! Sui Sui, tell MuMu what to do!"

Seeing his sudden enthusiasm, Sui Sui couldn’t help but smile.
