Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Yizhou Calls

Watching Sui Sui leave, the attendant who had served him remained standing there for a moment, still looking somewhat dumbfounded.

Just a few hours ago, when this same young cultivator had come to ask about the shop’s buyout prices, he had looked visibly disappointed after hearing the offer of fifty Spirit Coins per pill. At the time, the attendant had assumed that Sui Sui was short on money and had no other way to sell his pills.

Yet now, Sui Sui had just spent thousands of Spirit Coins on herbs and seeds without hesitation.

Could it be that he had actually managed to sell all his pills on his own?

And in only one afternoon?

The attendant’s curiosity grew.

Just how good were those pills?

He quickly reported everything to his supervisor. The news spread through the shop, and it didn’t take long before they gathered more information about the mysterious young cultivator. They soon learned that earlier that afternoon, someone had sold a large number of High-Grade pills for only one hundred Spirit Coins each, and the description of the seller matched that of the young man.

The attendant and his supervisor exchanged glances.

High-Grade pills were not something that could be treated casually.

Even Mingxin Pill Shop, with its experienced alchemists and considerable resources, could only successfully produce High-Grade pills around five times out of ten when refining Low-Level pills. For less experienced alchemists, the success rate was even lower.

Of course, for truly skilled high-level alchemists, refining High-Grade pills was much easier. However, those alchemists rarely bothered refining Low-Level pills in the first place, and even when they did, they usually kept them for their own disciples or cultivation rather than selling them.

However, it was precisely these Low-Level pills that were the most marketable. They were affordable enough for lower-level cultivators like them to purchase regularly, creating a much larger customer base than expensive, high-level pills.

The supervisor’s expression gradually became thoughtful.

If their shop could secure a reliable supply of High-Grade Low-Level pills like these, it could give them a significant advantage over their competitors. They might even be able to expand their business and strengthen their position in the city.

"If you see this person come by again, inform me immediately," the supervisor ordered. "We must recruit him to our side. Do you understand?"

"Yes, Supervisor."

The attendant nodded quickly, this time, he no longer dared to look down on Sui Sui, just a few hours ago, he had thought that the young cultivator was simply another inexperienced pill seller who had no idea how the market worked.

Now, he realized that he might have completely underestimated him.

If Sui Sui could truly produce High-Grade pills consistently, then he was undoubtedly a promising talent.

—

Meanwhile, Sui Sui, who had no idea that he had already attracted the attention of the Mingxin Pill Shop, continued with the rest of his shopping.

He bought several farming tools that he could use in his private dimension, including a sturdy bucket that would make carrying and transferring water much easier and some hoes and shovels for digging. He also stocked up on enough food to last him for a while, making sure he wouldn’t have to worry about supplies anytime soon.

As he continued walking through the streets, he happened to notice a stall selling young fruit tree saplings. There were several varieties available, including apples, peaches, and mangoes.

Sui Sui immediately became interested.

Since the saplings were fairly cheap, he bought one of each without much hesitation.

He planned to plant them inside his private dimension. If they grew successfully, then in the future, he could simply pick fruit from his own trees instead of having to buy them whenever he wanted some.

It seemed like a worthwhile investment.

By the time Sui Sui finished shopping, he realized that it was already nighttime. Since there was no point rushing back to the sect so late, he decided to stay in Linfeng City for the night and find an inn.

He went to one of the more well-known inns in the city and paid five Spirit Coins for a room. He also ordered some food to be brought up so he could eat without having to go back downstairs.

After finishing his meal, Sui Sui took a quick bath and changed into a fresh set of clothes. Once everything was settled, he finally lay down on the bed.

Today had been exhausting.

He had just closed his eyes and was about to drift off when something suddenly vibrated inside his storage pouch.

Sui Sui opened his eyes again and reached into the pouch.

It was the communication talisman from Yizhou.

Sui Sui quickly activated it. "Hello? Senior Brother?"

"Where are you right now?" Yizhou’s deep voice came from the other side.

Sui Sui blinked, slightly dumbfounded by the question.

Why was Yizhou asking where he was? Did he need Sui Sui to get something from the sect?

"I’m not in the sect right now. I’m staying in Linfeng City." Sui Sui then told Yizhou about everything he had done throughout the day, from selling his pills and buying herbs to the amusing incident where someone from the He Huan Sect had tried to recruit him. He also proudly shared the good news that he had successfully sold all of his pills.

Yizhou remained silent on the other end, quietly listening to him until Sui Sui finally asked, "By the way, did you need something from me, Senior Brother? Why did you call?"

"Nothing. Since you’re not in the sect, forget it. I’ll have someone else handle it," Yizhou said.

In truth, he had not needed anything from Sui Sui in the first place. Earlier, as usual, he had casually swept his spiritual sense through Sui Sui’s room, only to find it empty. For some reason, his mood had soured at the discovery, so he had contacted Sui Sui to find out where he had gone.

Now that he knew Sui Sui was simply staying in Linfeng City, his mood gradually settled. He quietly listened to Sui Sui’s rambling until one particular detail caught his attention.

"You said someone from the He Huan Sect recruited you?" Yizhou asked, his voice carrying a hint of surprise.

"Yes. Someone named He Rui. She should be fairly famous. Anyway, when I rejected her invitation, she insisted on painting a portrait of me in exchange for buying some pills," Sui Sui explained.

"She painted you?"

Yizhou, of course, knew about the He Huan Sect. The sect was infamous throughout the Human Realm. Although they were not necessarily bad people, his past experiences with them had not been particularly pleasant.

In his previous life, he had known someone from the He Huan Sect who had been especially troublesome. That person had constantly pestered him day and night, repeatedly trying to convince him to Dual Cultivate with her, even Yizhou who had a good temper at that time was feeling bothered. It had not exactly been a pleasant experience, so Yizhou had never had a particularly good impression of the sect.

Still, he did not hate them.

What annoyed him now was something else.

The He Huan Sect had actually managed to obtain a painting of Sui Sui.

He didn’t even have a painting of Sui Sui himself, yet somehow they had one.

For some reason, that thought irritated him.

"Next time, don’t casually agree to having your portrait painted. Don’t you understand that someone as weak as you standing out too much can easily invite trouble? Keep a lower profile so you don’t attract unnecessary attention. Got it?" Yizhou said.

Sui Sui thought about it for a moment.

It actually sounded reasonable, after all, as someone always in the limelight and eventually suffered from it himself, Yizhou was probably speaking from experience, right?

"Okay, Senior Brother. I’ll be more careful next time."

The two continued talking for a little while longer before finally ending the communication. Only after the talisman went quiet did Sui Sui finally settle back into bed. This time, he fell asleep almost immediately.
