Chapter 160: 160: CURIOUS CRABS.

The staff came straight at Mr. Kevin on the floor. The tip of the staff had grown sharp like a spear as flames consumed it.

Immediately, Nyx pierced it straight into Mr. Kevin’s chest, aiming directly for his heart, driving it all the way down into the ground and pinning him there.

"Ah!" Mr. Kevin let out another sharp cry of misery as blood spilled from his chest and splattered all over Nyx’s clothes and face.

Nyx stood there with a smirk, holding the staff down against Mr. Kevin as he struggled to move like a fish trapped on land. But eventually, he gave up.

The pain slowly faded into numbness, and he soon felt his whole existence coming to an end. Everything inside him felt damaged, both physically and spiritually.

Within a short while, Mr. Kevin could only lie there like a corpse, unable to move. He had no energy or willpower left to do so.

He simply lay there with his entire body damaged.

Nyx stared down at him, his face covered in fury and blood. When he saw that Mr. Kevin wasn’t moving at all, he slowly pulled the staff away and watched his body lie there motionless.

A slow pant escaped his lips as he stared down at the body.

"You..."

Nyx held the staff for a while before another smile curled across his lips. "You failed the final stage... And you died as part of your reward for failing..." he said, before instantly bursting into laughter.

He started small, but his laughter slowly grew into a hysterical breakdown. He laughed aloud while staring at his bloodied hands, his staff eventually falling to the ground beside Mr. Kevin’s body.

"I... I did it..." he laughed while staring at his hands. "I... I was able to protect myself and my loved ones..." He laughed as he closed his eyes. "Brother... I’m strong enough to... protect... the ones I love..."

Tears gently ran down his face as he staggered backwards.

"I... I did..." He opened his eyes and stared at his hands. "I killed him..." he muttered to himself. "I avenged my brother..."

"I..." He gently muttered to himself before finally uttering the words in a soft, almost breathy voice.

"I killed someone..."

June tried holding onto his phone firmly as the crab approached. He was desperately searching through his brain for some kind of action, but nothing was coming to him.

At that moment, his phone beeped again.

This time, he realized it was the reminder for an upcoming BL episode he had been waiting all week to watch.

"This is not the right time for this... I’m about to die..." he muttered, trying to hide his phone from the approaching crabs.

But the crabs had already grown closer, close enough to jump onto him.

June panicked and dodged, rolling to the other side as his phone slipped from his hand.

He landed on his back and muttered, "Shit, I lost my phone again..." He struggled to his knees and stared toward the other end where his phone had fallen.

When June lost his grip on the phone, it accidentally fell in a way that opened the site of the video he was supposed to watch.

The phone lay there on the ground, the video playing at full volume.

It was a scene of two men confessing their feelings to each other under the rain—a romantic, gut-wrenching scene.

As the scene played, the crab that had been about to attack June suddenly stopped.

Slowly, the crab turned toward the scene playing on the phone, its attention completely glued to the screen. It moved closer to take a better look, and the others soon followed.

Before long, the three crabs that had been chasing June and Simon were sitting close to the phone, all staring down at the screen to get a better look at what was happening.

The confession scene had grown intense. The couple were yelling at each other while confessing their love, pulling and pushing each other in every dramatic way possible.

And the crabs were completely entertained.

"....."

June was speechless.

He sat there, staring at the crabs as they watched the latest episode of the BL drama he had waited an entire week for and even paid for the premium version of.

"That’s unfair..." he muttered as Simon came to his side, also staring at the scene in confusion.

"Is that...?" Simon didn’t even know what to say.

"It is. It sure is..." June nodded.

He had already been through two anomaly dungeons, so he knew how absurd things could get. He supposed he couldn’t be too shocked by this.

"I guess they like BLs." June blinked. "Cultured gentlemen." He nodded before getting to his feet and turning to Simon. "Hand me your phone."

Simon hesitated but handed it over without asking any questions.

June took the phone and said, "Follow me."

Simon followed without question.

---

Soon, they arrived at the scene of Kael struggling to fight off all the crabs coming at them while protecting Ryan.

They were surrounded by the crabs, fighting for their dear lives, while June stood on an elevated patch of desert land with Simon, staring down at them.

"What do you want to do now?" Simon asked.

"Show them civilization," June said as he clicked on the released BL video and raised his phone toward the crabs.

"Hey! Pinchers! Look over here!"

The crabs’ attention was caught by the call, and all of them stopped, turning to stare at June.

Ryan looked closer with Kael, trying to understand what was happening.

"Is that...?" Kael looked confused.

"A video?" Ryan was also confused.

The crabs suddenly turned their attention toward June, and all seven of them rushed to attack him after being distracted.

They moved so fast through the sand that Ryan panicked.

"Be careful..." he said, but June didn’t seem to move.

June held up the phone confidently, as if it were some secret weapon they didn’t understand.

And soon enough, the crabs drew closer, rushing toward June with their claws snapping hard enough to destroy whatever they got their hands on.

Before long, they came face-to-face with June.
