Seconds went by, and nothing happened.

Immediately, Mr. Kevin smiled as he stared up at the gate. "I knew you were just all talk and no action. You’re too cowardly and weak to do anything against your Creator..."

Before he could finish his words, lightning struck from above. It consumed him instantly, sending Mr. Kevin into a frenzy of shock.

"Ah!" Mr. Kevin screamed at the top of his voice, moving left to right, forward and backward, trying to avoid it. But the shock followed him, sending sparks and electricity through every bone in his body.

It lasted for a full minute before it finally stopped. At that moment, Mr. Kevin stood there looking like a complete mess.

His hair was messy, his face was covered in dark smoke, and his clothes were partially shredded. He struggled to stand as he stared at the gate.

Mr. Kevin gasped as he stood there, staring at the gate. He was speechless that Nyx was actually doing this to him.

"You psychopath..." he snapped as he struggled to stand up.

He looked around, but there was nowhere to escape. He knew that he was unawakened—an unawakened being trapped inside a dungeon. So, he was basically powerless no matter what he wanted to do.

As he stared up at the gate, he knew his only option was to play along and go through it. It was better than being punished here.

"He can’t do much to me anyway..." he muttered to himself. "That kind-hearted bastard can’t kill me..."

He snapped the last part as he approached the gate.

Immediately, the gate pulled open, yellow light glowing from within. Mr. Kevin stood there for a while, staring into it.

He said nothing. He simply stared up at the gate with a cold expression.

"When all this is over, I’ll make you pay..."

He muttered furiously before making his way into the dungeon. The yellow light instantly consumed him, and the gate slowly closed behind him.

As soon as Mr. Kevin opened his eyes, he was shocked to see himself bound to a laboratory bed—the same one he had tied Nyx to.

"What the hell...?"

He struggled to set himself free, but to no avail. He was hooked to the bed through chains, wires, and other equipment attached to his body.

"What’s all this?!"

He snapped as he looked around. Everywhere was plain white and empty. There was nothing in the room except him and the bed, along with the wires connected to him from nowhere.

"Hey! What rubbish is this?! Get me out of here!"

He snapped again, struggling to free himself, but the restraints held him firmly in place.

Then, he suddenly caught sight of a red button appearing in the air.

"What’s... what’s...?"

Before he could finish, a system inscription appeared in the air.

Mr. Kevin’s eyes widened in shock as he stared at the inscription.

"What the fuck are you trying to do...? Let me... Let me go now!"

He struggled harder, but immediately, the button was pressed in the air.

And everything started.

Liquids of different colors flowed through the pipes and straight into Mr. Kevin’s body.

"Ah!"

He instantly gasped in immense pain as he felt different waves of pain rush through his body and into his veins.

His arms, legs, chest, back, neck, and even his head were affected. Extremely painful substances rushed through his veins, sending excruciating pain through his entire body.

"Ah! Stop now! Let me...! Ah!! Stop now, you asshole!"

He snapped, kicking and struggling to set himself free from the pain he was going through.

But he couldn’t even free himself from where he lay, let alone stop the pain. And so, he lay there in extreme agony, screaming at the top of his voice.

The substance came in full force, rushing through his bulging veins all at once and leaving his entire body shaking in pain.

"You... Let me... Ah... That hurts! Stop now!"

He heard Nyx’s voice speak in line with the system inscription. Fury and pain surged through him as he snapped.

"You asshole! Do you know who I am?! I am the Director-General! I hold great power in this field! I can destroy you if I want to!"

"Ahh!"

"Let me go now, you psychopath! Let me... I’ll make sure you pay for this!"

"I’ll make sure I kill you!" he screamed in immense pain.

But the voice continued.

Mr. Kevin instantly felt a wave of fear rush through his entire body as he stared up.

Immediately, electricity ran through the pipes and wires and struck his entire body. It was as though the electricity itself was running through his veins.

It pierced into him and sent his whole body into an explosive state, his brain going completely numb from the extreme pain.

"Ah..."

He could feel tears and sweat burst from his body as the shock sent his bones into another state.

Pain was an understatement for what he felt. He couldn’t even feel his whole body anymore as the shock broke through him.

"Ah! Stop right now! You psychopath! Stop!"

He screamed, but the pain continued to tear through him for a little longer.

And immediately, it all came to a stop.

The machine stopped torturing Mr. Kevin as he lay there on the bed, almost lifeless, with pain and sparks still coursing through his body.

And while he lay there, the system and Nyx’s voice spoke.
