Chapter 152: 152: WELCOME: PICK AN OPTION.

The sound was coming from the entrance door. As the two of them stared in its direction, they saw a flood of security men making their way into the room.

They held their weapons firmly, ready to attack. But as they came in, they were confused by what they saw. The room was almost empty, and their eyes fell on Syll and Grey, who slowly got to their feet to face them.

Syll had a calm expression as he said, "Too bad. You’re already late to the party. Everyone’s gone, so you might as well head back home now."

The security men positioned their guns toward Syll and Grey as their leader stepped forward to stand before them.

Syll scoffed. "The audacity to hold a weapon at me like that... Have you forgotten who I am?" he demanded.

The leader of the security men said, "Young Master Syll, we can give you all the respect needed. But don’t you think you’re overstepping your boundaries by sabotaging your father’s work?"

Grey raised an eyebrow, confused as he slowly stared at Syll.

Young Master? Father?

Everything was puzzling and confusing at the moment. And as he stared at Syll, Syll wasn’t looking at him.

Syll had his eyes on the security man. He smiled. "And how’s that your business? I’m also here for business. And I guess the best businessman will have to win."

The leader of the security men scoffed. "You’ve been ungrateful to your father all these years. Even after all he has done for you..." He raised his weapon at him. "And you even went as far as ruining his hard work because of your silly tantrums."

"Forgive me for being rude then, Mr. Syll Dan," he said as he prepared to pull the trigger.

Syll smiled as he stared at him. "Pathetic."

He then turned to Grey.

Grey was already staring at Syll, confusion and shock written all over his face.

The realization had hit him at that moment, and he didn’t know how to digest it immediately.

Grey had just realized that Syll was the son of Mr. Kevin. He had never thought about it and didn’t know how that was possible.

But it was the reality he was faced with.

"Snap out of it," Syll snapped at him, acting calm as if nothing had happened. "We’re going to be jailed if you don’t put your ass together..."

He said it as he turned to stare at the security men, who were preparing to take them down. Syll then said to their leader, "Then forgive me for being more rude..."

He smiled as his eyes turned white. Gently, he clenched his fist, and ice slowly spread across the ground, surrounding the security men from all angles.

---

Mr. Kevin flipped open his eyes with a sharp gasp, like someone who had just woken up from a nightmare.

He felt sweat running down his face as he looked around, gasping for air.

"Where the..." He staggered backward, staring at the strange atmosphere around him.

He was standing in the middle of nowhere. He was in a dark space, with almost everything around him completely black. All he could see were faint outlines of dark rocks and mountains standing in the distance.

"Where the hell is this...?" he muttered in disbelief as he looked around, gasping in fear.

He swallowed as a light suddenly tore open right before him.

Mr. Kevin instantly covered his face as he staggered backward at the sight of the sudden light. When his eyes adjusted, he took a closer look at what had appeared before him.

"What the fuck is that...?"

It was a gate.

A massive, grand-looking golden gate stood tall in the middle of the darkness. The gate glowed with a radiant light that was almost too bright to stare at directly.

Mr. Kevin stared at the gate for a while before looking around. "What the hell is happening...? Where is that monster? Where the hell did that monster bring me to...?"

He demanded as he suddenly caught sight of something appearing on the massive gate.

Some words were appearing on it, being imprinted across the surface like holographic messages.

"What’s that...?" Mr. Kevin looked closer to take a look.

[WELCOME TO YOUR DUNGEON]

[ARE YOU READY TO MEET YOUR GRAND DEATH?]

[PICK AN OPTION TO PROCEED NOW]

[YES] OR [YES]

Mr. Kevin scoffed as he stared at the message inscribed on the gate.

"What the hell is this? Is this some type of joke or what?" he demanded with a scoff as he moved backward, looking around. "You’re manic! Do you take me for a fool or what? What rubbish is all this?!"

"Let me go this instant! Show yourself, you pathetic monster!" he snapped into thin air, referring to Nyx, who was nowhere to be seen.

But no one responded.

The inscription on the gate appeared again.

[PLEASE PICK AN OPTION FAST.]

[NO TIME LEFT.]

[FAILURE TO PICK AN OPTION WILL RESULT IN PUNISHMENT.]

Mr. Kevin laughed hysterically into the atmosphere. "What sort of absurdity is this?! Taking me for a joke?!"

"Show yourself, you coward! What are you hiding behind?!" he demanded, yelling into thin air.

But there was no sign of Nyx at all.

[COUNTDOWN INITIATED]

The inscription on the gate appeared again as Mr. Kevin stared at it with both arms folded.

[FAILURE TO PICK AN OPTION IN TEN SECONDS WILL RESULT IN A PUNISHMENT.]

And so the countdown began.

Mr. Kevin stood there with both arms folded, staring at the countdown without feeling fazed at all.

"What a useless joke. And what do you plan on doing? Killing me or what? A complete joke."

"I will not play your silly gate. Show yourself, and I’ll let you know who the real master is! Show yourself if you’re not a coward."

He kept blabbing at the air as the countdown continued.

When the countdown finally reached its limit, a deep silence followed as the inscriptions on the wall disappeared.

Mr. Kevin folded his arms, keeping calm as he stared curiously at the gate, waiting to see what would happen next.
