[BL] After SSS-rank mage reborn as the Legendary Craftsman
Chapter 109: Successfully Crafting the Healing Potion
Since his current goal was to craft potions, Kei decided to focus on studying chemistry knowledge first.
At first, he only planned to learn the parts directly related to extracting medicinal ingredients and mixing solutions. But the more he read, the more Kei realized that modern chemistry was more complicated than he had thought.
From temperature, concentration, reactions between substances to how to preserve the finished product, even a small mistake could turn all the ingredients into an unusable liquid.
Kei hardly left his desk.
He read books, took notes, did exercises, then went back to cross-check with the healing potion formula.
In the first few days, Kim Sora still had to remind him to eat and rest. Later, she only needed to place food beside him and Kei would automatically pick it up, eating while staring at the pile of documents in front of him.
After a week of continuous studying, Kei finally understood the method to extract the essence of Blood Leaf.
He immediately ordered the necessary pharmaceutical equipment and threw himself into the work.
"I succeeded!"
Kei held the test tube containing the bright red solution in his hand and cheered happily.
The solution inside was transparent, a bright red color shining like fresh blood. There was no dirty residue, nor were there any signs of separation from a failed extraction. Just by looking at it, Kei knew that this crafting attempt fully met the requirements.
Kim Sora, standing beside him, immediately brought over the potion bottle.
"Let me help you, Kei!"
She carefully held the mouth of the bottle under the test tube, happily watching Kei pour the solution inside. The bright red potion flowed down little by little, quickly filling the small bottle.
Finally, their shop had solved the potion supply problem, because Kei could now brew potions himself!
Kei looked at the potion bottles neatly arranged on the table, and a feeling of indescribable satisfaction rose in his heart. From now on, he no longer had to depend on outside suppliers.
After thinking for a moment, Kei took out his phone and sent a message to Moon So Yeon.
"The healing potion has been successfully crafted. Come to the shop to check the potion’s effectiveness."
Not long after the message was sent, the shop echoed with the sound of the door being opened hurriedly.
Moon So Yeon walked in with an excited expression.
"Kei, where’s the potion?"
Kim Sora quickly took a potion bottle and placed it on the table. The three of them sat together in the shop, and Moon So Yeon picked up the potion bottle and examined it carefully. After that, she pulled out a dagger and decisively slashed a line across her arm.
Blood immediately flowed out.
"So Yeon!" Kim Sora cried out in alarm.
"It’s fine."
Moon So Yeon calmly took the potion from her hand and gently sprinkled the solution onto the wound.
In just an instant, the sliced skin began to close. The bleeding stopped, and the cut disappeared at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Moon So Yeon suddenly let out a gasp.
"The effect is really good."
She reached out and lightly touched the healed skin.
"This potion is much better than the kind sold on the market. How much are you two planning to sell it for?"
Kei thought for a moment.
He mentally calculated the cost of equipment, ingredients, crafting effort, and the necessary profit. After that, Kei gave a price slightly lower than the potion prices on the market.
Moon So Yeon was immediately startled.
"Wait. Kei, you shouldn’t sell at a loss just because you want to help the Crying Ghost Guild."
"Sell at a loss?" Kei was stunned.
"That’s right."
Moon So Yeon looked at him seriously.
"You’re a Craftsman who crafts potions yourself, so you definitely need a very high amount of capital. Just the cost of equipment and ingredients alone could already be higher than the price of ordinary potions on the market. And yet you’re still planning to sell them to us cheaply."
She frowned slightly.
"If Kang Ian finds out about this, he’ll make trouble for me."
Thinking of Kang Ian, Moon So Yeon could not help but feel worried.
Recently, her guild master kept appearing and disappearing. Sometimes Kang Ian suddenly vanished without leaving any message. No one knew what he was doing, nor when he would be willing to return to the Guild.
Kei had no idea about any of that. He simply smiled and said:"I have my own herbal cultivation method to make potions, the cost is actually very cheap. You can rest assured."
"How cheap is it?"
"Originally, I could sell them for just half the price of potions on the outside market."
Moon So Yeon opened her eyes wide.
Kei looked at the potion bottles on the table and slowly explained:
"But I don’t want to set the price too low. If the potions in the store suddenly become much cheaper than the market, the outside supply will be affected. I also don’t want the potion market to be disrupted because of me."
He paused for a moment and then said:
"So, the price for the Crying Ghost Guild is a discounted price. The retail price in the store will still stay at the normal market level."
Moon So Yeon was stunned.
She had originally prepared herself mentally to advise Kei not to do business at a loss. She never expected he had already thought about maintaining the stability of the potion market.
Kei was not only kind-hearted, but also clearly understood the limits of necessary help, not wanting to affect other merchants.
Moon So Yeon sighed inwardly.
Kei was indeed a good child.
"Thank you."
She smiled and handed the deposit money to Kei.
"I will come back in a few days to pick up the entire first batch of potions."
Kei accepted the money and nodded in agreement.
After chatting for a while longer, Moon So Yeon happily left the store, Kim Sora watched her silhouette disappear behind the door, then turned to look at Kei.
"Kei, so our store can really produce potions on our own now."
"Yeah."
Kei looked at the bright red potion bottles on the table, the corners of his mouth slightly curved up.
"Next, we can start expanding the potion business."
