Gong Ruini turned over and slowly sat up, finding the room empty.

This made Gong Ruini really uncomfortable. Ever since she got pregnant, even if Zhao Xuran had business to handle, he would deal with it in the bedroom.

Just so he could know Gong Ruini’s movements at any time, and when he saw her get up, he would ask if she was hungry or thirsty.

"Ah, I’m really not used to this." Gong Ruini had been feeling she was not so delicate; she felt she could absolutely be treated like a tough woman.

Unexpectedly, she got a slap in the face overnight, and it seemed quite heavy.

Just as Gong Ruini was sitting on the bed dazedly, Zhao Xuran opened the door and came in.

Unsurprisingly, he saw Gong Ruini sitting on the bed rubbing her eyes, looking a bit dazed. "Are you hungry?"

Gong Ruini nodded, "I want to eat tiny wontons."

Previously, Gong Ruini would feel quite embarrassed, wondering if this counted as exploiting a man, but now, she shamelessly asked for it.

She couldn’t help it; after all, she was carrying the Zhao Family’s grandchild. "It’s your son who wants to eat," Gong Ruini added.

"Right, it’s our daughter who wants to eat," Zhao Xuran reiterated.

"Mom also said she really likes daughters. You don’t know, right? My mom said she has some treasures she’s saving for her daughter."

Zhao Xuran shrugged, "You see, my mom only has daughters-in-law, no daughters."

"No, my mom sees you as a daughter." Remembering how generous her own mother was every year for Gong Ruini’s birthday, compared to the birthday gifts Zhao Xuran and his brothers received, it often made people wonder who was really Zhan Jing’s child.

On this point, Gong Ruini proudly remarked, "That’s because I’m good."

Giving her so many gifts wasn’t because she was Zhao Xuran’s wife, but because they liked Gong Ruini as a person.

Including later finding out Zhao Xuran and Gong Ruini were together; Zhan Jing was so happy that she was already planning how much dowry to give Gong Ruini when she got married.

And considering as a mother-in-law how much greeting gift to give Gong Ruini, in short, it really worried Zhan Jing.

"Yes, you are the best." Zhao Xuran walked to the bedside, kissed Gong Ruini, and gently took her hand, "Don’t rub your eyes."

"Okay." Gong Ruini was being very obedient right now, listening to everything.

Looking at Gong Ruini behaving like that in his arms, Zhao Xuran could never get tired of seeing it.

But no matter how much he wanted to hold his wife, he couldn’t resist Gong Ruini’s frequent cries of hunger.

"I’ll go make wontons, is there anything else you want to eat?"

"First, have the shao mai." Gong Ruini thought for a moment, remembering the shao mai she bought last time hadn’t been eaten yet, and she didn’t eat much for dinner.

Would that be okay? Zhao Xuran was really worried his wife’s stomach would be too full, but couldn’t resist Gong Ruini’s pitiful gaze, so he had to agree.

"Weren’t you going to the bathroom?" Gong Ruwen had been waiting in the room for a long time and couldn’t wait for Zhao Xuran, and of course came out looking for him.

Unsurprisingly, he saw Zhao Xuran actually asking Gong Ruini what she wanted for a midnight snack, which made him angry.

"We are discussing serious matters here."

"Making midnight snacks for my wife is serious business too," Zhao Xuran said earnestly.

Feeling exasperated, Gong Ruwen was continuously amazed at Zhao Xuran’s shamelessness, "Make one for me too."

Since he was already making midnight snacks, he might as well get a portion too. After discussing for so long, his stomach seemed to be growling variously as well.

Making midnight snacks for Zhao Xuran? Zhao Xuran disdainfully rejected his freeloading brother-in-law, "Come down and help out."

What, no way? Isn’t he already making them for Gong Ruini, just cooking a bit more should be enough? "I’ll just have the shao mai."

Gong Ruwen thought this stuff just needed a bit of steaming to eat, definitely a side task.

"There aren’t many shao mai, they’re for Ni Zi." What if his wife enjoys eating them, Zhao Xuran insisted that as long as it was something his wife currently liked, it had to be reserved.

"Can’t you buy them?"

"I’ll go buy them." Isn’t it just money? Gong Ruwen thought he could afford money for buying shao mai.

Is having money enough? Is that remarkable? Zhao Xuran nonchalantly shrugged Gong Ruwen’s arm off his shoulder.

"That stuff is only available in Chinatown, and every day there’s a limit."

"Ah, so this stuff is limited?" Gong Ruwen couldn’t believe it. In the United States, any business that can make money, who wouldn’t try their best to make money, who would stupidly turn away business?

"Yes, they say that if they make too many, they can’t guarantee the quality." Zhao Xuran admired the old lady for this, "The taste is definitely good."

For Zhao Xuran, who rarely comments on food, to say something tastes good, Gong Ruwen thought the taste must be excellent.

This inevitably made Gong Ruwen very tempted.

Seeing Gong Ruwen’s tempted look, Zhao Xuran thought they had found someone for queue duty, wasn’t this the best candidate?

As for voicing it out to make Gong Ruwen queue for buying shao mai, with so many people at home, who couldn’t suppress Gong Ruwen.

While Gong Ruwen was all tempted, he never thought someone would plan for him to go queue; the most frustrating thing was hearing about how delicious the food was, yet not being allowed to try it.

Well, although he hadn’t tasted it, seeing the pile of food Zhao Xuran brought over was stunning.

It didn’t take long for him to come to his senses, surely there must be some for him, as this quantity was really not just a little.

Even if Gong Ruini could eat, she couldn’t possibly eat that much; Gong Ruwen was confident that in the end, there would still be some for him.

"These wontons..." Gong Ruwen had his plans, but seeing Zhao Xuran put most of the tiny wontons in front of Gong Ruini’s bowl really stunned him.

So much food, truly an abundant amount; can Gong Ruini eat it all?

"Ni Zi can eat almost all of it." Zhao Xuran didn’t care about someone at the back constantly swallowing saliva, all these delicious foods were meant for the wife.

Even if the wife couldn’t eat it all, it was for him to eat, how could he give it to Gong Ruwen?

Of course, Zhao Xuran was a kind brother-in-law and kindly suggested, "Rui Wen, there are leftovers in the kitchen, you can make salted rice soup."

"Ah, I’m eating salted rice soup." Knowing he didn’t get any of the delicious wontons and shao mai, Gong Ruwen was very disappointed.

If he hadn’t smelled the delicious aroma, he wouldn’t really be that hungry.

But the problem was the strong aroma, which he genuinely smelled, and then his stomach started protesting incessantly.

Finally, after waiting Zhao Xuran finally spoke, thinking there would be a portion for him, unexpectedly he was advised to eat salted rice soup.

The gap was just too big, Gong Ruwen was quite upset that even if someone was spoiling his wife variously, they shouldn’t neglect friends.

"Do you realize you’re offending your brother-in-law?"

"You have to think you’re not married yet." Gong Ruwen said with a lot of momentum to Zhao Xuran.

Right, the sister wasn’t married yet, as Gong Ruwen, the brother-in-law, he was confident in asserting himself to Zhao Xuran.
