Hehe, I knew it would be like this, Zhao Xuran laughed.

"What’s up." Gong Ruwen looked at Zhao Xuran’s smile, his body involuntarily shuddering, thinking that this smile was truly unsettling.

Gong Ruini lowered her head without speaking, originally planning to say it later, but now it seemed like a big charge.

What to do, Gong Ruini contemplated if confessing now would be better.

"According to the law, Ni Zi and I are already husband and wife." Zhao Xuran hugged the stunned Gong Ruini.

Aah, no way, Gong Ruwen was dumbfounded looking at Gong Ruini.

Previously, his sister’s silence made him suspicious of her unusual calmness, never expecting such shocking news.

"Really?" Gong Ruwen looked calmly at Gong Ruini, his tone so even when he asked.

If Gong Ruwen had shown even a bit of anger, Gong Ruini wouldn’t be so nervous; the problem was his tone was way too calm.

"Mm." Gong Ruini nodded in admission. "Mainly because Dai Liren said if we don’t register, in the future, if someone investigates, they’ll say we married because of having a child."

Even though Gong Ruini couldn’t care less about what others said, she had to admit, "Xuran also said, we adults can handle anything, but the child can’t."

"Children haven’t been through much, they’re more fragile."

"Cannot let the child be hurt."

For the sake of the child, haha, this was obviously Zhao Xuran fooling his own sister, Gong Ruwen thought.

"Sis, you really..." Gong Ruwen wanted to say his sister had become silly, but the words were taken back before spoken.

His sister may have grown foolish, but her pride remains; if she gets offended, then what?

"Xuran, come out." Gong Ruwen couldn’t vent his anger on Gong Ruini, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t vent it on Zhao Xuran.

"By the way, does Xiao Zhi know about this?" Apparently, the younger brother hadn’t mentioned this, does he not know or just didn’t say anything, which changes the conversation.

Whether Gong Ruzhi knows, Gong Ruini’s first response is to nod—wait, can’t nod.

Considering Gong Ruwen’s reaction, it’s obvious Gong Ruzhi didn’t say anything; he has his reasons.

"He..."

The first reaction is the most genuine, Gong Ruwen gets the answer he wants, "I see, that kid Xiao Zhi really has some guts."

Originally thinking this kid stayed in the United States and could spread the happenings back home, but unexpectedly this kid sides with Zhao Xuran.

No matter why the kid would help Zhao Xuran, this behavior absolutely cannot be supported.

Okay, his big brother remains aware of surroundings even when angry, otherwise how did he notice her nod so quickly.

Looks like he’ll have to notify the younger brother tomorrow morning, hoping he can handle things comfortably.

"Sleep." Gong Ruwen gently closes the door.

Gong Ruini is really curious about what will happen after Gong Ruwen calls Zhao Xuran out.

Her eyes darting around, having just eaten and thinking, is it too early to sleep? Or would she become a pig if she slept right after eating?

Gong Ruini decides to sneak a peek at what unfolds, reaching the bedroom door and preparing to open it.

"What are you doing, why aren’t you sleeping." Gong Ruwen had long been ready for Gong Ruini trying to eavesdrop, known for her stronger-than-average curiosity.

Aah, no way, how could Gong Ruwen catch her; she had waited so long.

"Relax, I won’t do anything to your man."

"After all, he’s my brother-in-law." Even though wanting to thoroughly teach Zhao Xuran a lesson, seeing his sister, Gong Ruwen could only pressure him mentally.

"My nephew is counting on him for a good life."

"It’s not nephew, it’s niece." Zhao Xuran was really losing it, no matter how he expressed anticipation for a daughter; why did everyone insist on a son?

Zhao Xuran didn’t have much thought between daughters and sons, having a son is good, no son then focus on raising the daughter.

With their combined abilities, Zhao Xuran truly believes their child will be capable.

"Yeah, I know I know." Gong Ruwen dismissively waves his hand, "Go to the balcony, let’s talk."

"Know what." Zhao Xuran’s mouth twisted in resignation as he went towards the balcony, considering properly talking to Gong Ruwen about this matter.

Originally, Ni Zi felt much better these past few days after his comfort, but once the parents came to the United States, they only talked about grandsons and nephews; don’t they know how much pressure this puts on Gong Ruini?

"Okay, sleep." Gong Ruwen clearly hears Zhao Xuran’s words of reluctance, and feels quite gratified with his brother-in-law’s supportive response.

But could he so easily agree about the niece?

Doesn’t he know such a statement puts pressure on Ni Zi?

What Zhao Xuran should be doing is seriously proposing the hope for Ni Zi having a daughter.

"Alright." Gong Ruini yawns, since they won’t let her listen in, she’ll have to wait here; but what then.

Can she keep waiting, waiting for another chance to sneak out and eavesdrop?

Gong Ruini really doesn’t think there’s much probability for that, even if Gong Ruwen and Zhao Xuran are chatting, they’ll be distracted worrying if she’ll sneak out.

The comforting thought is at least they’ll be distracted slightly, likely preventing arguments.

If they won’t argue, then that’s fine.

No matter how much Gong Ruini worried about sleeping so soon after eating, she quickly fell asleep on the bed.

Gong Ruwen gently opens Gong Ruini’s bedroom door again, no surprise hearing her gentle snores.

With his sister asleep, Gong Ruwen obviously heads for the balcony to talk with Zhao Xuran, "How could you do this."

"Why do you keep mentioning nephews and nephews in front of Ni Zi, don’t you realize the pressure?"

"I like daughters, my parents also prefer daughters."

Gong Ruwen was surprised, he had pulled Zhao Xuran out to talk about why they registered their marriage without notifying the family.

Without obtaining the consent of elders, especially the bride’s family, registering marriage like this is exceedingly disrespectful.

And not wanting to tell afterward, the motive greatly displeased him; now he wants to question Zhao Xuran, surprisingly Zhao Xuran questions him first.

It really annoyed Gong Ruwen, "Answer my question first."

"I’m not as easy to deceive as Ni Zi." Gong Ruwen truly couldn’t comprehend why his sister, usually smart, would become foolish around Zhao Xuran.

Gong Ruwen honestly doesn’t understand, nor has the time to ponder the reasons now; with his sister being so muddle-headed, as her brother, he must look out for her.
