Gong Ruwen looked at Zhao Xuran who was cheerfully accompanying Gong Ruini home, with a face full of distress.

Gong Ruini turned to Zhao Xuran, wondering if he had written difficult-to-procure items when writing the menu in the morning.

Gong Ruini admitted that she had been picky lately, but the food she wanted could definitely be purchased from the supermarket, so it wouldn’t make Gong Ruwen so annoyed.

Zhao Xuran was well aware; just mentioning such a proposal was enough to prompt questions from both fathers.

He couldn’t count how many questions he was asked, but there were certainly many, enough to make someone dizzy.

But could he admit to it? Absolutely not, Zhao Xuran kept a clueless expression as he looked at Gong Ruwen.

Act, keep acting, Gong Ruwen was pretty angry, "Brother Xu Ran, this thing you mentioned about opening shops on the first floor of the supermarket, I really don’t know much about it."

"You suddenly brought it up in front of Dad and Uncle Zhao, and then they kept asking me. I really didn’t know how to answer."

Thinking about being at the supermarket, his own father and others kept asking all kinds of questions about supermarket issues, Gong Ruwen was indeed prepared with quick and accurate responses.

But the later questions stumped Gong Ruwen; he didn’t know how to answer or handle the situation.

Alright, his refusal to answer resulted in scorn from his father and others.

"Didn’t we bring it up before?" Not acknowledging that he hadn’t said it to him, Zhao Xuran wouldn’t take the blame, "Just that we didn’t talk about it in detail back then."

Not much talked about? How could Gong Ruwen not understand the subtleties? Perhaps it was mentioned once or twice.

"Big brother, actually it was Ni Zi who brought it up back then; we just researched it a bit." Zhao Xuran remembers it clearly as the time hasn’t passed long.

He perfectly recounted the scenario again.

Gong Ruwen was stunned. Wow, with such a reminder, it was indeed mentioned, but since Gong Ruini and others didn’t explain clearly, how could he have remembered it?

Back after returning home, with so much to handle, naturally, he forgot about this matter.

"Why wouldn’t you give a heads-up beforehand?" Gong Ruwen was frustrated, but could only respond mildly.

Not out of fear of Gong Ruwen, but because the parents have instructed that no one should be crude in front of Gong Ruini, maintaining civility and manners.

Most importantly, voices shouldn’t be loud, not to frighten Gong Ruini.

Otherwise, the consequences would be unimaginable, and Gong Ruwen truly dared not to fathom, knowing it wouldn’t end well.

A heads-up? Zhao Xuran was embarrassed, constantly rubbing his head, "I’m sorry."

Rolling his eyes, Gong Ruwen showed he was truly upset, not wanting to hear someone say sorry.

"Hey, does an apology help?" Thinking of the scene where Dad and Uncle Zhao lectured him, it was truly embarrassing.

Just that someone seemed not to care, Gong Ruwen really couldn’t understand how he once thought this guy was reliable.

Of course, an apology wouldn’t work, Zhao Xuran really wanted to blurt it out, but seeing someone’s frustrated look, well, better be honest, or it’ll be trouble if he upsets his brother-in-law.

"I really wanted to remind you in the morning." Zhao Xuran made a gesture of swearing.

"You remember I even pulled you aside wanting to talk with you, right?" Zhao Xuran was very sincere; anyway, he truly intended to, just that some events occurred later on unfinished.

Really? Did Zhao Xuran pull him aside that morning? Gong Ruwen thought for a moment, it seemed to have happened.

"But then Ni Zi appeared, I was busy preparing breakfast for my wife." Taking care of the wife was what Zhao Xuran lately enjoyed doing the most.

Watching the wife have a big appetite and eat well under his care, Zhao Xuran was full of contentment.

Ah, how come this issue involved her, Gong Ruini was enjoying a box of grapes, savoring the fruits and watching the fun was genuinely enjoyable.

But she didn’t expect this chaos to implicate her, how can Gong Ruini not be surprised.

"Hey, I won’t take the blame for this; why didn’t you just explain it briefly to my brother back then." Clearly, she could handle things independently, without needing help.

"I know, I know, that was my fault." Zhao Xuran intended to explain why he didn’t clarify initially.

"But we can discuss how to execute this plan tonight." With scolding over, Zhao Gang wouldn’t retract what he said to Gong Ruwen.

Now, the best course is to make up for it, as long as the matter is resolved, "then we try to complete the plan as soon as possible."

Yes, that’s what should be done, Gong Ruwen knowing scolding was already done, doesn’t expect apologies, better work hard and finalize the plan, then strive to earn money.

These days, what’s the point of criticism; earning money is far better.

"Visiting the supermarket today really gave me a lot of insight, what a heavy flow of people."

"Right, what do you think about hiring someone to farm in the Beijing Suburb?" Gong Ruwen asked.

Farming? Gong Ruini was shocked that her brother considered venturing into this direction, "Bro, do you know how much investment this needs?"

Can farming be profitable? Gong Ruini meant why not directly purchase from outside, is the hassle necessary?

"Yes, I’m thinking we could lease land in the Beijing Suburb, and when someone comes to acquire, it’ll be for money." Gong Ruwen intended to capitalize on rising land prices later.

"Ah." Gong Ruini wasn’t clear why acquiring land in Beijing Suburb would be such a hassle.

Gong Ruini looked bewildered at Zhao Xuran; previously when seeking land, wasn’t it just about paying to relevant authorities?

Could it be because the higher-ups realized they acquired too much land near Beijing so imposed restrictions?

"Now acquiring land isn’t as easy as before; the top recognizes the value of land." Understanding individuals, Zhao Xuran although slightly frustrated, they did obtain quite a bit of land before.

Some were acquired with the pretext of opening vocational schools and building factories; even if someone envies, claiming useless acquisition isn’t possible.

However, future acquisition with this pretext won’t yield large plots, with many constraints.

Given Gong Ruwen’s recent ideas, Zhao Xuran felt it was genuinely good, "I think it’s feasible."

"If not industry or commerce, agriculture can work."

"Plant fruit trees, farm, raise pigs and chickens can all be done."

"We can even address livelihood issues for displaced farmers in the Beijing Suburb."

Zhao Xuran didn’t know if profits were possible, but not everything should chase money, some charity work is essential.

If handled well, their reputation will greatly improve, even if someone intends to bring them down, public sentiment must be considered.

"Really?" Gong Ruwen was nervous, considering such investment wouldn’t be small, but regarding returns, he wasn’t pessimistic.

Not mentioning substantial earnings, there might even be losses, and even counting on land appreciation for profits seemed uncertain to Gong Ruwen.

Yet, given Zhao Xuran’s agreement, Gong Ruwen was prepared to roll up his sleeves and get to work.
