Ascension Of The Blood Supreme

Chapter 178. The new lodgekeeper 4

  • Next Chapter

The moment the town enforcers entered the establishment, they looked at the lodgekeeper with renewed respect and fear.

Earlier, they had witnessed the altercation that occurred.

From when the Grim gang people arrived through to their deaths, to when the residents of the lodge were so scared of him that they scurried off.

This man was the real deal.

He was not someone to be bullied or trifled with.

The Kahra Desert was a place where the strong preyed on the weak. Had he been a weakling, they could have tried to extort more than the necessary amount of tax payment from him.

As intermediate rank 2 warriors, they could not see through this man. The way he had killed the group without even lifting a finger was something they couldn’t fathom. He was most likely a very powerful senior.

If not, how could he have pulled off what he pulled off?

Also, based on what they saw earlier, killing was like a chore to him. He could be polite to you and still kill you after all.

He was a madman.

Unlike the previous lodgekeeper they could bully around and extort large amounts of money from, they could not cause any trouble for this man.

Although they didn’t think he was as strong as the town Lord, this man was quite terrifying.

As the town enforcers entered the lodge, someone also entered the establishment. He was tall, had a moderate build and looked athletic.

The first thing the person did was check the rules.

After checking the rules, they were completely angry. What sort of stupid lodge was this?

He had been journeying across the desert for a while now, trying to escape his enemies. This was the first town he came across and the first lodge he came across.

But to think this place was a piece of shit. He had to leave this lodge and search for another place in the other districts of this town.

"I’m so hungry. Yet, this lodgekeeper doesn’t even run a cooking service?" he muttered out loud.

The lodgekeeper stared at him for a moment and ignored him.

The new fellow was just about to leave when a group of people entered the lodge too.

"We finally managed to find you, Dickinson," one of them snarled.

"Seriously, I told you that the items are not in my possession. I lost it!" Dickinson replied.

There was no way he would give the energy cores of the advanced rank 2 chaotic beasts to them. These things were extremely valuable in the Kahra desert and could make him rich overnight. These fuckers waited for him to kill the beasts and dig out their energy cores. Now, they wanted to gang up on him and take it for themselves. Absolutely no way he’d let that happen. Even if they killed him today, he’d not let that happen.

"Heh. Do you think we are fools? Hand them over and we will spare you," the group bellowed.

Clearly, they had some beef with this person.

"Advanced rank 2 warriors?" one of the town enforcers said.

These people and the person who had followed him earlier into the establishment were all advanced rank 2 warriors.

"Even if we are town enforcers we can’t do anything. First of all, the lodgekeeper is a terrifying senior and this place is where he runs his business. We can’t intervene in whatever beef this new guest and the group that just entered the establishment have with each other," another enforcer nodded. "It’s not like even if we wanted to intervene, we could do anything. These guys are advanced rank 2 warriors. They are more powerful than us. We can only wait for this altercation to end, collect our tax from the lodgekeeper and leave."

"That’s better," another one added. "I don’t want to die. Just because we work for the town Lord doesn’t mean we should plunge headlessly into danger and get ourselves killed."

The three enforcers decided.

They were just about to order some drinks when the lodgekeeper spoke.

"Excuse me for a moment please."

They were not taken aback by his politeness as they knew he was a polite person from the altercation they had witnessed earlier.

"Sure, senior," the enforcers said.

Aiden looked at the man standing close to the entrance with the group headed towards him.

"Gentlemen, kindly take your business outside. Whatever happens outside is none of my business, but once you are in here, your actions can’t disrupt my business." The lodgekeeper spoke professionally.

The group of advanced rank 2 warriors turned to look at the lodgekeeper.

Who the hell was this kid?

The law of the jungle worked on the Kahra desert. So what if he was a lodgekeeper?

He was most likely their junior in terms of cultivation. If not, why would he be so polite and professional to them? A senior would be overbearing. Coupled with the fact that he looked like a regular person, it was even possible that he wasn’t even a warrior.

And he was telling them to take their business outside, who the hell did he think he was?

"Brat, who the hell are you to tell us to take our business outside? In these parts, strength is everything. If you are weak, just keep quiet and endure. After we are done with him, hand over all the money from your lodge," one of them said.

Aiden didn’t reply. He turned towards the person they were after.

"You were just leaving, right?"

"This person is not ordinary. He’s way too calm. I overheard these intermediate rank 2 town enforcers call him senior earlier. Perhaps, I was too quick to judge this lodge. Perhaps if I decide to become a resident of the lodge, he won’t let these bastards cause me trouble", Dickinson thought.

"Actually senior, I would like to book a VIP room... how much is it?"

His response shocked the town enforcers who were currently seated on a couch.

Was he not the one badmouthing the lodge earlier?

It seemed he had managed to realize that the lodgekeeper was not normal.

Also, he knew that staying in the lodge might warrant his protection; if the lodgekeeper was strong, he’d brand the other guys as troublemakers and kick them out of his lodge.

Aiden also realized what the guy was doing.

But he didn’t care. He was running a business.

Since this guy had decided to stay, he replied.

"30 dollars for a night. Pay upfront."

"Alright." Dickinson about to head to the counter when the other advanced rank 2 warriors stopped him.

They sneered. One of them lifted up his hand. The gravity of the place increased all of a sudden.

He was the leader of the group.

Even the enforcers almost plopped towards the ground.

However, in the blink of an eye, the gravity vanished.

The leader of the group fell down on the ground with an expression of fear as he stared at the lodgekeeper. He was dead.

Thud...

Thud...

Thud...

The rest also fell at the door. They were also dead.
