Chapter 2043: The Third Prince
Chapter 2043: The Third Prince
The employee who delivered the low-value Auspicious Mytherean was on the floor with his right leg twisted in a weird way. Elonia could no longer hold back when she realized that a low-level employee might ruin the deal between the Cladeos Emporium and the Tang Empire. What was worse, Tang Shaoyang could pull off their right to open their establishment in the System’s event.
An Executive Administrator could do that much. She was not surprised if the Cladeos Emporium lost its branch in this Beast Spirit Alliance. It could be worse than that, much, much worse, and all of this was caused by a corrupt, low-level employee.
Elonia wiped the blood from her hand and motioned to the Director of this branch to heal that man. She needed an outlet to vent his anger, and this man was right. Now she calmed down and needed to make the situation right again.
“Where’s the Beast Spirit? What are you going to do with that Beast Spirit? You’d better answer, or this will not end just with you!”
The man who tried to deceive Tang Shaoyang was a manager for the auction. He was the one who was responsible for the auction. That was why he was quite daring to swap the item. He was so busy boot-licking the VIPs that he did not know that Lady Elonia was here with a special guest. He thought he could get away as always, but who expected them to bring the Beast Spirit Vet?
“The Third Prince of the Celes Kingdom offered me 220 million for the Auspicious Mytherean in the auction. That’s why I swap it with the one available in our menagerie.”
“The Celes Kingdom, as if the Celes Kingdom of the La Vista Alliance?” Elonia was quite knowledgeable about the big force in the God Realm.
The Celes Kingdom was a strong force, but the people feared the combined force of the La Vista Alliance. It was a top dog in the God Realm, as an alliance, not as a stand-alone kingdom.
“Yes, Lady Elonia. I have no choice but to comply! They are from the La Vista Alliance!” The man raised his voice, which immediately received a kick on his belly.
“So you think it’s better to offend an Executive Administrator?”
Elonia truly had lost her composure many times today and immediately dropped the name. She tried to keep it secret, only telling a few people because it seemed Tang Shaoyang didn’t flaunt his status. That was wrong; she should tell all her employees who he was.
The Auction Manager’s eyes widened, his mouth gaped wide open. The scene of his confrontation with the Executive Administrator resurfaces in his head.
’But that’s not possible. I know all the Executive Administrator’s faces…’ ’Ah, except the new one!’ Everything clicked in his head right now. Color drained from his face, realizing the severity of the situation. The La Vista Alliance was surely scary, but the Administrator was scarier because they had an influence on the System’s event.
An Executive Administrator truly could mess with the Cladeos Emporium. The worst part would be what the Cladeos Emporium would do to him if that happened. If the Administrator tried to make things difficult for the Cladeos Emporium as a whole, then the Cladeos Emporium’s wrath would be directed at him.
The beating he just received would be considered a light punishment when he thought about this on a grander scale. He wanted to say something, but he truly realized there was nothing he could do to make things right. What could someone like him do to make things right? He was merely an Auction Manager. If he lost the Cladeos Emporium’s support, he would be nothing but an ordinary person.
“No, you can actually not offend both sides if you just follow our rules, if you are not greedy. There’s nothing the Third Prince of the Celes Kingdom can do to us, even if you refuse the offer!”
Elonia could vent her anger all day with how mad she was with the situation, but that would not resolve the situation. There was also an auction she delayed. She could not waste too much time with this person.
“Where’s the Beast Spirit?” The only thing she could do was to give the supposed bid item to its rightful owner, then continue the auction.
The Auction Manager swallowed a mouthful of saliva, slowly looking at Elonia. He truly realized that he messed up big time, so big that he might die today.
“The third prince has—” before he finished his words, Elonia truly lost control and kicked the Auction Manager’s mouth. Two teeth fell off as the Auction Manager was knocked out.
If not for the Managing Director pulling her, she might truly kill the Auction Manager. The Managing Director managed to calm Elonia and heal the Auction Manager.
“You can’t kill him, Lady Elonia. We need him alive, so we can use him to quell the Third Prince’s anger if he’s upset if we take the Auspicious Mytherean away from him. We can put all the blame on him.”
Elonia calmed down and nodded, “Take the money from him!” The 220 million was still in the Auction Manager’s pocket. He might have embezzled at least 100 million before giving 120 million to the emporium. He would record the 120 million as selling the low-value Auspicious Mytherean.
The Managing Director of the Cladeos Emporium, Meira, took the money from the Auction Manager before dragging him with her. Elonia followed Meira. They were heading to the sixth VIP room, where the Third Prince of the Celes Kingdom was.
There were two guards, wearing black full-plated armor with a spear in their right hand, standing in front of the door. Meira took the lead because Elonia was too angry to take the situation with a cool head.
“I am the Managing Director of the Cladeos Emporium of this branch. There’s some misunderstanding with your Lord, and we wish to clear it. Let us meet your Lord.”
“Wait a moment!” The knight did not let them in directly. One of them entered the room and quickly came out. “You can enter.”
Inside the room was a family, the third prince of Celes Kingdom and his wife, along with their daughter. The knight with similar armor stood behind them as well; there were four more inside. The third prince came with six escorts, not a surprise.
Meira spotted the auction item. The cage with an Auspicious Mytherean was on top of the table, and their daughter tried to play with it, but she was being ignored.
“I apologize for the delay and for intruding on your family’s time, Sir. I am here to correct my employee’s mistake for smuggling the auction item. It’s not supposed to happen, and he violated our regulation that might tarnish the Cladeos Emporium’s integrity. We will take back the auction item, and we will return the money to you!”
She did not beat around the bush. The quicker she solved the problem, the quicker they could restart the auction. Delaying the auction further would anger their guests, who came from different backgrounds.
The Third Prince of Celes Kingdom, Olympe Pierre Celeste’s expression darkened when he heard why they came to him. Then he looked at the man behind the two women whose head lowered. Then he glanced at his daughter, who had grown fond of the Beast Spirit. The moment she heard the Beast Spirit would be taken, she was saddened.
“What do you mean by taking it back? We have bought it, and you can’t take it back just because you want to!” Olympe could not believe that a mere merchant faction dared to humiliate him.
Meanwhile, her wife, a beauty with long sky-blue hair, frowned when she heard her husband raise his voice. She put her hand on his shoulder, trying to calm him down.
“Are you going to take the Auspicious Mytherean to your special guest?” The wife said, “Ah, my name is Henriette, and I am his wife.” She bowed slightly as she introduced herself, remaining polite.
“Yes. We must give him what is rightfully his, and our special guest also found out that the one he received is an inferior Beast Spirit. We are very sorry this happened because of my employee’s stupidity, but we must uphold our integrity as an emporium,” Meira was glad that the Third Prince’s wife seemed to be reasonable.
“Can you let us meet with your special guest? We might be able to discuss it with him and reach a better conclusion,” Henriette smiled, motioning at her daughter, “As you can see, my daughter has grown attached to the Beast Spirit.”
“Again, I apologize as this should never have happened, and I apologize that we must give it to the bid winner. If people heard the situation, the Cladeos Emporium would lose the trust of our customers. However, we can try asking our special guest for a meeting with you after the auction if you are interested in purchasing his Auspicious Mytherean,” Meira bowed her head once more.
Henriette was troubled because she knew they were in the wrong. Insisting on keeping the Auspicious Mytherean would trouble the Cladeos Emporium. This might strain the relationship between the Celes Kingdom and the Cladeos Emporium as well, considering her husband’s status.
“DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?” Olympe burst out upon seeing his wife’s troubled expression. A mere merchant faction dared to make trouble for the royalty of the Celes Kingdom. That angered him.
Alas, he did not know that there was another one who was also beyond angry. Elonia stepped up and looked at the third prince, “AND DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?”
“AND DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU MIGHT OFFEND BY TAKING THIS BEAST SPIRIT?”
Olympe was startled, caught off guard that she was using his card against him. That made him think for a moment who this woman was. Who was the special guest?
Meira massaged the space between her eyes. She was not surprised this would happen, but she understood how mad Elonia was. Elonia told her about the potential deal with the Tang Empire, and the deal might be off because of this problem.
Meanwhile, Henriette was startled as well that the half-elf dared to burst out like that. The Cladeos Emporiums should know who they were, and the fact that they still dared to act like this meant the special guest was truly special, so that they would rather offend the Third Prince of the Celes Kingdom than the special guest.
“Calm down, Olympe!” She called her husband out, raising her voice slightly. Fortunately, her husband listened to her. She then reached her daughter, pulling her daughter from the cage, “I am sorry, baby. We have to give it back because it’s not ours.”
Her daughter cried halfway, but Henriette picked her up, stroking her daughter’s back, then bowed slightly toward Meira and Elonia, “We are sorry for the trouble we have caused. But I still wish for you to arrange a meeting with your special guest. Because we truly wish to buy the Beast Spirit for our daughter.”
Meira also bowed her head, “We are truly sorry and grateful for your understanding, Lady Henriette. I will convey your message to our special guest. Whether he wants to meet you or not, it still depends on him.”
Meira gave the money back and took the Auspicious Mytherean with her. The Third Prince’s daughter’s cry still echoed in the room when they left.
