"You should tell the survivors under you to go inside, then. It’s not wise for people to fall sick intentionally," Darren finally voiced out with a heavy sigh.

"Oh, yeah. You all can go back into the building, please," Justin finally said with a defeated expression as he turned to address the survivors.

Without wasting much time, the survivors made their way into the building, leaving Justin, Darren, Ivy, and Erick standing beneath the falling snow.

"We’ve been working since morning. We should have a meal now," Justin voiced out seriously, his tone leaving no room for argument.

"And where are we having the meal?" Ivy raised an eyebrow.

Instead of responding to her, Justin turned his gaze toward Darren and Erick, rolling his eyes at Ivy as though her question wasn’t worth answering.

"Please follow me, Commander Erick. The women at the base have already prepared a good meal," Justin replied before turning around and leading Erick toward the back of Diamond Base.

Darren followed as well, and Ivy reluctantly trailed behind them after letting out an unmistakable scoff.

At the back of the building, beneath a small roof that had been constructed to provide some shelter from the snow, stood a simple table surrounded by five chairs. Several dishes had already been placed on top of the table.

The food didn’t look expensive by any means, but it was still enough to make anyone who had been working in the freezing weather feel hungry.

There was hot rice accompanied by vegetable soup prepared with canned fish.

"Kindly help me manage this. This is all I can afford for now," Justin said as he settled into one of the chairs.

Erick, Darren, and Ivy also sat around the table.

Justin then turned toward Commander Erick and reached out to grab his hand.

"But I got some meat cut specially for you and the young man. Just the two of you," he added.

With that, Justin opened one of the containers on the table, revealing several pieces of meat covered in sauce. Their sweet, savory aroma immediately filled the cold air, causing Erick and Darren’s stomachs to growl loudly with hunger.

Without wasting much time, Justin began picking out the best pieces of meat and placing them onto Erick and Darren’s plates, completely ignoring Ivy.

"Thank you, Captain Justin," Darren was the first to say. He immediately picked up his fork and began eating, clearly too famished to waste another second.

"What about Captain Ivy?" Erick raised an eyebrow.

His question immediately made Justin roll his eyes in disdain.

"Females don’t need much meat," Justin replied without hesitation, before Ivy could even say anything.

He then pushed his chair back and stood to his feet.

"Besides, I need to check on the survivors inside. You all should continue eating without me."

With that, Justin turned around and headed toward the building.

Erick and Darren exchanged a brief look before giving him an approving nod.

"Don’t mind that bastard, Captain Ivy," Erick said with a light chuckle.

He picked up two pieces of meat and placed them onto Ivy’s plate.

However, Ivy immediately picked them up and returned them to Erick’s plate.

"Are you annoyed with us?" Erick asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Annoyed?" Ivy raised an eyebrow, followed by a scoff. "If I were you, I’d better be careful around that bastard. Especially when it comes to food."

The moment Ivy said that, both Erick and Darren froze.

Their forks stopped halfway to their mouths before they slowly dropped them back onto their plates.

"What?" Darren asked warily.

"I didn’t ask you not to enjoy your meal," Ivy replied with a light chuckle. "I only said you should be careful. Stay vigilant."

She glanced briefly at the food on the table before continuing.

"We’re in the middle of an apocalypse. You shouldn’t accept everything placed in front of you without thinking twice."

With that, Ivy pushed her chair back and stood to her feet.

"Anyways, I’d like to walk around the base."

Before Darren and Erick could respond, Ivy turned around and walked away, leaving the two men staring after her.

"Off it!" a very thick, muscular voice suddenly rang out, followed by the soft cry of a woman.

Ivy hadn’t walked very far when she heard the commotion.

Her footsteps immediately came to a halt.

Her expression changed as she slowly turned toward the direction of the voice.

Without making a sound, Ivy moved closer and what she saw immediately made her eyes narrow.

Three women were being harassed by several Diamond Base soldiers.

The men had already pulled off the women’s clothes despite the freezing weather, leaving them exposed in nothing but their pairs of singlets.

The women trembled violently beneath the snow and cold wind, their faces filled with fear and helplessness.

Ivy’s expression instantly turned cold.

"How dare they?!!!" Ivy screamed inwardly, anger written all over her face. She had already rolled up her sleeve and was about to move forward when....

A figure suddenly dashed right after her, and before she knew it...

"Slap! Slap! Slap!"
