Apocalypse: My SSS Ability Changes Every Few Days
Chapter 118: More!
On the far end of the command center where General Xavier was, his bodyguard extended the energy shield to protect him.
All the debris and projectiles from Alex’s undead Awakened hit the energy shield, but they weren’t able to do much to the energy shield.
While this was going on, General Xavier, who was standing behind, picked up a phone that was on the command center.
He tried to speak into the phone, but he slammed it down immediately.
The phone was down and he couldn’t call for backup.
Alex frowned when he saw what General Xavier did.
He had better finish him off before General Xavier found a way to call for help or even an airstrike.
But first, he needed to get through the thick energy shield of General Xavier’s bodyguard.
The energy shield was at least ten meters thick, and he figured that the bodyguard was most likely an SSS Level Awakened.
Alex knew one sure way of getting through an Awakened with an Energy Shield ability, and that is to slowly grind his energy down with whatever attacks he could use.
He raised his hands at the energy shield and the crackling sound of lightning could be heard.
Pillars of Lightning appeared and they slammed into the energy shield.
Thud.
The energy shield held and the Pillars of Lightning caused explosions to ensue.
Debris was strewn all over while the Pillars of Lightning tried to grind the energy shield down.
But even so, it barely made any difference and Alex knew he had to up the ante.
Bam!
Lightning Prisons appeared from his three storage portals and they trapped and descended upon the energy shield.
Sweat began appearing on the forehead of the bodyguard when all of the Lightning Prisons congregated onto the energy shield.
After a continuous round of explosions, the energy shield shimmered for a moment before it stabilized again.
The energy shield also seemed to have decreased in size, even though it was for a little bit.
General Xavier could be seen opening up the floorboard and ripping out some of the cables underneath.
Then, he stood up and picked up the phone again.
After he tried to speak into the phone, he slammed it down after a moment.
It was still non-operational.
General Xavier squatted down and he tried to connect the cables that were broken as fast as he could.
While he did so, Alex frowned and someone familiar stood out from his storage portal.
It was Lieutenant Langley.
Lieutenant Langley, with his expressionless face, turned towards Alex and raised his hands at him.
A white glow appeared from his hands and the glow extended out to the body of Alex.
It gave Alex an immediate buff.
Six storage portals appeared at the same time and Lightning Prisons shot out from the portals at the energy shield in the next moment.
Boom!
The Lightning Prisons trapped the energy shield and they started to grind down the energy shield even more relentlessly than before.
Shimmer.
The energy shield shimmered a few times and the thickness of the energy shield became half of what it was.
Alex didn’t stop and he unleashed whatever he had inside his storage portal at the energy shield.
“General Xavier, I can’t hold on any longer!” The bodyguard turned to General Xavier and said.
He didn’t expect his energy shield to be ground down so soon by Alex, and he couldn’t understand how it was possible for someone to be as powerful as Alex.
Even General Xavier’s ability paled in comparison.
General Xavier grunted and he connected the cables he had in his hands to the socket that was beneath the floorboard; this time, when he picked up the phone, there was finally a sound coming out from it.
He barked into the phone and said, “Code Red…”
Before he could finish his command to ask for backup, the ground shook and knocked him off his feet.
Alex’s attacks finally ground down the energy shield of the bodyguard.
He took the opportunity to lunge at the bodyguard.
The bodyguard raised his arms in front of his head to block the punch that was coming at his face from Alex.
Crack.
A loud crack could be heard when Alex’s fist hit the forearm of the bodyguard, fracturing the bones and ripping off the flesh from the arms of the bodyguard.
The fist of Alex didn’t stop there; it continued on its way and hit the head of the bodyguard, crushing it into a pulp.
Blood, flesh and fractured bones splattered all over.
The bodyguard didn’t even have a chance against Alex before he fell to the ground and lay motionless.
Alex turned towards General Xavier and he said, “Tell me, what are you up to with all the test subjects and research?”
“Heh. That shouldn’t be something that you should be worried about.” General Xavier side-eyed the phone that had dropped onto the ground, and his hand extended out and became elongated as if it was rubber, to grab it.
But Alex was much faster than General Xavier was.
The hand of General Xavier couldn’t get near the phone before it was hit by the lightning strikes that were unleashed by Alex.
Bam!
The phone was blown into pieces, but General Xavier gave Alex a smirk instead.
“Now that I’ve not completed my orders, they will execute the contingency plan to destroy this place.”
Alex frowned when he heard General Xavier and he lunged at him to try and quickly end it.
They might be in danger if they didn’t escape from the underground facility fast enough.
Boing.
When Alex’s fist hit the face of General Xavier, the face of General Xavier became soft like rubber and the impact from his fist was absorbed by his face.
Alex changed tactics and he held onto the throat of General Xavier instead.
“Let me go!” General Xavier said with a cough as his throat was grabbed by Alex.
He tried to kick and punch at Alex, but his fist and feet felt as if they had hit a hard rock instead.
General Xavier’s arm extended onto the ground like a rubber hose and they whipped at Alex’s body next.
Alex ignored the arms that were coming at his body and wrapping around him.
He lifted the arm of the hand that was holding onto the throat of General Xavier.
Crackling sounds could be heard and a torrent of lightning struck the throat of General Xavier at close range.
The lightning decimated the throat of General Xavier even when he had activated his ability.
Bubbles appeared while the lightning strike started to cook and burn the rubbery skin of General Xavier, causing him to give out a cry of pain.
Alex’s fingers clenched together slowly and as he did so, the lightning that was ravaging General Xavier’s throat intensified.
Splattered.
Finally, General Xavier wasn’t able to sustain his ability any more and his head was ripped apart from his throat when Alex’s fingers clenched together.
