Chapter 113: Battle

As Riley, Terry and Brian’s figures got further away from the purple gas, the purple gas started to condense together, and they slowly solidified into the form of mutated beasts that were exactly the same as the gigantic mutated bear.

These smaller mutated bears were at least two meters tall in comparison.

And they gave out a roar in unison.

Strong gust of wind blew out of nowhere and tornadoes started to form and they twirled around where Riley and the others were.

Slice.

The wind tearing through the air sliced the skin of Riley and the others open.

Blood from their wounds flowed and flew in the air leaving a crimson trail behind.

Their wounds started to heal but the healing wasn’t fast enough, before they got cut by the wind brought by the tornadoes again.

All of them frowned as this was the first time they faced an enemy so formidable.

Riley and the others knew that they have to do something fast before they die by a thousand cuts from the tornadoes.

"Come to me!" Terry shouted and he created metallic walls all around him to lessen the winds that were cutting them.

The metallic walls blocked out some of the winds and it allowed them time to recuperate.

Riley and Brian lunged as fast as they could to where Brian was, and they finally had time to think of something to get out of the quagmire.

"What would Alex do?" Brian said to himself and recalled what Alex had done in times like this.

Alex would think about the situation and see what could be done to use their abilities to the fullest potential.

He glanced at the tornadoes and the mutated bears.

They would have to take out the mutated bears first to get rid of the tornadoes that was ravaging them.

Bang!

As he thought, one of the tornadoes got crashed into the metallic walls on the side and it rattled the metallic wall and blew it up into the air.

More of the tornadoes got closer.

Brian glanced at Terry and shouted, "Drop metallic walls as we run towards these mutated bears!

"Riley and I will try to get to them and kill them off!"

There wasn’t any need for more exchange than that.

Riley instantly knew what Brian was thinking about and he got ready to do so.

"Go!" Terry shouted and they ran out from the cover of the metallic walls.

Thunk.

As they ran, metallic walls descended down from the air and blocked the tornadoes that came at them.

Fortunately, they were able to reach close to the mutated bears before being hit by the tornadoes.

Riley raised his arm and pointed his palm at the mutated bears that were in front of him, and huge bubbles appeared above these mutated bears.

The mutated bears stopped their roar and they tried to lunge at him.

But before they could make a move, the huge bubbles descended and exploded when the huge bubbles came into contact with the mutated bears.

Boom!

Explosions ensued and the mutated bears were blown into pieces before they turned back into the purple gas form before dissipating.

Brian also did the same and his fire meteors rained down onto the mutated bears near him.

The fire meteors hit and the flames started burning and spread to the surroundings instantly.

Roar.

The mutated bears were caught by the flames and they gave out a roar.

However, they couldn’t do much other than that before they turned back into the purple gas form.

Then, they dissipated.

After the mutated bears were taken care of, the winds and the tornadoes died down.

Everything was back to normal in an instant.

Riley, Terry and Brian finally had a respite from the battle for the cuts on their bodies to heal.

As they healed they glanced at the tentacles that were still in the ground.

The tentacles started moving and they figured that these tentacles would come at them again.

They quickly leaped away from where they were but the tentacles suddenly stopped.

All of the tentacles retracted and they started moving up towards the gigantic mutated bear’s head.

Alex, who had sneaked his way up to the shoulder of the gigantic mutated bear’s head, had his hands aimed at the ear of it, which was the only place that wasn’t covered by hard rocks.

Before he unleashed his lightning strike attack, he used his Echo Resonant ability first.

Boom!

Sounds of explosions erupted in the gigantic mutated bear’s ears and it stunned the gigantic mutated bear for a moment.

The tentacles that were reaching up to him stopped on their way to him.

He aimed at the ear of the gigantic mutated bear, which was as big as he was standing tall, and he unleashed pillars of lightning into it.

The pillars of lightning ripped the ear of the gigantic mutated bear apart and it went into the head of it.

Splatter, and the pillars of lightning started to shred and destroy whatever was inside the head. The gigantic mutated bear started to thrash around in pain.

The ground shook with every step it took.

It raised its front paw and it tried to swat down onto Alex.

But Alex was ready for it.

He turned into a speck of shadow and he traveled along the shoulder and back of the gigantic mutated bear to reach the other shoulder.

Roar!

The gigantic mutated bear gave out a roar when its paw missed.

Alex, who had appeared again, wasted no time and he unleashed another torrent of the Pillars of lightning at the gigantic mutated bear from the other ear.

The same thing happened.

Splatter.

The ear of the gigantic mutated bear was blown apart and the pillars of lightning continued on its path into the head of the gigantic mutated bear.

Alex didn’t stop with it.

He unleashed a wave of the pillars of lightning one after another at the gigantic mutated bear continuously.

Boom!

Finally, the gigantic mutated bear started to drop onto its knee, making the earth tremble.

Alex had to hold on tight to the edge of the rocks that were covering the shoulder of the gigantic mutated bear to keep himself staying on the shoulder.
