Chapter 112: Stage V Mutated Beast

Vroom.

The engine of the car started and the car turned towards the rocky mountains.

They left the town and had to turn onto an off-road path.

Traveling on the off-road path was bumpy and the speed of the car had to be slowed down.

"How big do you think these mutated beasts can get?" Terry asked and closed his eyes when the car hit another bump and made him hit the top of the car.

"Who knows? Only Teresa might have a clue." Alex shrugged and replied.

The growth of these mutated beasts was abnormal and no one knew for sure what the end point of it would be.

Thankfully, from what he had seen so far, these mutated beasts that were able to get to Stage IV or V were far and few between.

If not, he might have a lot more issues on his hands than what he had now.

All that he could do was make sure that he and his friends became powerful enough to deal with these Stage IV and V mutated beasts.

As they chatted, the car continued its journey through the dirt path that only had scrubs and sand in the surroundings.

Finally, they could see something on the horizon that looked like a mountain.

The rocky mountains were made up of huge rocks coming out of the ground and it seemed to be at least two hundred meters tall.

"I guess this is it." Riley stopped the car a distance away from the rocky mountains and they alighted from it.

Alex glanced around and tried to sense for the presence of any mutated beasts.

It didn’t take him very long to sense something that was nearby.

He glanced in the direction of it and he frowned when he saw what it was.

On the left side of the mountains, there was a mutated beast.

But visually, he couldn’t see anything but rocks just like the other parts of the mountains.

"Over there." Alex pointed in the direction of where he sensed the mutated beast and his friends glanced over at it.

"I see nothing over there..." Terry squinted his eyes to see if he missed out on anything but couldn’t.

All he saw was the rocky mountains.

Riley and Brian also tried their best to see where it was but couldn’t.

"Trust me, it is lying on the mountain over there.

"Riley, face it up front and use your ability to distract it.

"At the same time, Terry and Brian can try and distract it from the sides.

"I will try to sneak up to it from the back."

Alex made up a quick plan and his friends nodded their heads.

They had gone through so many battles together that they didn’t need to say too much.

Once everything was decided, they got into place and they approached the side of the mountain where the mutated beast was.

Riley stopped and raised his hands at the rocks in front of him.

Huge bubbles that were at least ten diameters in size appeared on top of the rocks.

Terry got ready with huge metallic walls that hovered above the rocks and Brian did the same with his fire meteors, waiting for the right moment to strike.

Alex ran towards the foot of the rocky mountains and when he got close enough, he raised his thumb at Riley and the others.

It was the signal for them to go ahead.

The huge bubbles started descending onto the rocks and the metallic walls together with the fire meteors also did the same.

Boom!

The huge bubbles exploded when they touched the rocks, chipping off a huge chunk of the rocks and the rocks fell to the ground.

Then, the ground started to shake and the left side of the mountain started moving.

But when it moved it was hit by the metallic walls from Terry.

Thunk.

The metallic walls smashed into some of the rocks but it didn’t do much except chip off some of the rocks and nail the rocks onto the ground.

But before the mutated beast could break free from the metallic walls, the fire meteors followed closely behind.

Boom!

Explosion and flames caught onto the rocks but it wasn’t able to do anything beyond that.

The ground began to shake even more violently and the left side of the mountain stood up and it turned towards Riley, Terry and Brian.

Roar.

The mutated beast looked like a bear but its body seemed to be mostly made up of rocks on its back and on its front body, it had huge dark tentacles that were wriggling non-stop.

Whoosh.

Without any warning, the tentacles shot out towards Riley, Terry and Brian with tremendous speed.

Riley leaped away from where he was and he escaped in the nick of time.

The tentacle hit the ground and it smashed into the ground, creating a crater with it.

Terry used his metallic walls to try to stop the tentacle from coming at him but the tentacle was able to burrow through his metallic walls one after another.

It was, however, enough to buy time for Terry to get out of harm’s way.

Boom!

When the tentacle got through the last of his metallic walls, it slammed into the ground, causing the soil to kick up into the air.

Brian used his fire meteor to rain down on the tentacle, but the flames and explosion from his fire meteor weren’t able to cause too much damage to the tentacle.

He quickly leaped away from where he was when he saw the tentacle coming close.

Slice.

Brian’s shoulder got hit and the tentacle sliced open a wound on it.

Thankfully, it wasn’t too deep.

Blood flowed out from his wound for a moment before the wound started to slowly heal up.

Seeing that its attacks weren’t successful, the mutated beast let out a roar and the few tentacles that were still in the ground started to give out a purple gas.

Instinctively, Riley and the others knew that the purple gas spelt trouble and they quickly leaped away as far from it as they could.
