However, Alex wasn’t the same as those Awakened that Lieutenant Langley had encountered before.

Splash.

The water wall splashed out when Alex came into contact with the water wall.

Sergeant Baron’s eyes opened wide when he sensed that within his water wall, the velocity of Alex’s movement didn’t stop.

Alex was able to travel through his four-meter-thick water wall and not get trapped in it.

He tried to create another water wall to protect himself, but Alex’s fist had already come onto his face.

Crack.

A loud crack could be heard when Alex’s fist landed onto Sergeant Baron’s face, sending him flying across the room to the side.

It happened so fast that the other two soldiers, who were standing to the side of where Sergeant Baron was, were still wondering what had happened when Alex turned his focus on them.

Alex gave a kick to one of them.

Crack.

His kick landed onto the chest of the soldier, fracturing the rib cage and destroying much of the organs within the body.

Alex made use of the force that rebounded from his kick to turn his body and gave the soldier a left hook to his face.

Thud.

The punch hit and a tooth from the soldier flew into the air before the soldier was sent flying to the other side of the room.

All of them landed and they could only groan in pain.

They tried to get back up onto their feet but couldn’t do so anymore.

Alex’s hit was too devastating for them.

Lieutenant Langley was astonished to see what happened within a split second.

He was never forced into such a situation before and it took him a moment to compose himself.

"Use it! Use the damn Enhancer!" He shouted and took out a syringe from his body armor.

Sergeant Baron and the other two soldiers heard him and they did the same.

Alex waited this time for the three of them to inject whatever it was in the syringe into their bodies.

He lunged at the last of them, who had only just started, and he gave the soldier a punch to his face and knocked the soldier out cold.

With the syringe in his hand, he put it into his storage space and he turned to face Lieutenant Langley and the others to see what the effect of the injection had on them.

Lieutenant Langley’s skin turned into a grayish tint and his eyes were also gray.

He gave out a low growl and his body shook intermittently.

A white glow engulfed the body of Lieutenant Langley and the white glow extended out towards Sergeant Baron and the other soldier who was still conscious.

Both of them were able to stand after taking the injection and their skin and eyes were like Lieutenant Langley’s.

Once the white glow touched onto the bodies of Sergeant Baron and the other soldier, they unleashed their abilities at Alex immediately.

A volume of water that was as thick as four meters engulfed Alex while thick vines came out from the ground and entangled Alex’s body.

Alex could feel that the vines were at least four times stronger than before.

The injection had boosted the strength of the soldiers by two-fold.

And with Lieutenant Langley’s ability, which was able to buff them two levels above where they were, they were now a formidable force against him in a split second.

If it was any other Awakened trapped in the volume of water, they would have panicked, but Alex was no ordinary Awakened and he remained calm throughout.

The vines that wrapped around his body tried to strangle him.

When Alex finally retaliated, he ripped the vines apart with his strength.

Then, the sound of explosions erupted in the ears of Lieutenant Langley and the other two.

They heard the explosion sounds and their minds turned blank for a moment.

It was the Echo Resonant ability that could stun anyone who heard the sounds that the ability made.

The stunned Sergeant Baron wasn’t able to hold the volume of water for that split second and it was more than enough for Alex to break free from it.

Splash.

Alex lunged out from the volume of water towards Sergeant Baron.

Sergeant Baron was shaking his head vigorously, trying to get out of the stun from the Echo Resonant.

By the time he regained some sense of consciousness from the stun, Alex was already in front of him.

Whoosh.

Sergeant Baron gave Alex an uppercut and his fist nearly connected with Alex’s chin this time.

The effect from the syringe also enhanced his physical ability.

However, it was still not enough going up against someone like Alex.

Alex dodged the uppercut, tilting his body back slightly, and he followed up by giving Sergeant Baron a right hook.

Crack.

He controlled the strength of his right hook so that he wouldn’t blow Sergeant Baron into pieces.

The right hook devastated the body of Sergeant Baron and Sergeant Baron fell to the ground and lay on it motionlessly this time.

Alex didn’t stop and he turned over to the other soldier.

He lunged at the soldier and gave a frontal kick at him, sending him flying through the air, slamming through the wall of the room.

With all of the others taken care of, Alex turned his focus onto Lieutenant Langley.

Lieutenant Langley frowned as he knew he couldn’t do much without other Awakened that he could buff with his ability.

There was only one ending waiting for him.

He cursed his bad luck in encountering Alex instead of someone else doing so.

But it was the reality for him now and there wasn’t any other way out.

He saw Alex’s fist coming at him and before he knew it, a loud crack was heard before his vision turned blank.

Lieutenant Langley fell onto the ground and he lay there motionlessly.

Alex glanced out of the shattered window and he saw that the gang members were scurrying out from the building.

His friends were able to fend off these gang members, which was just as he had expected.

Then, a familiar sound erupted in his mind.
