This outing was fruitful so far.

Alex was able to build up his army of undead Awakened and get supplies for the hydroelectric dam.

The only thing that he wasn’t able to accomplish was to get supplies for food.

Patricia’s team and what she was doing might prove to be crucial in the much later stages of the apocalypse.

Even the city right now was more or less emptied of all food supplies.

He pondered on his plan to have livestock with the crops as the next step and he began to draft out how to execute it in his mind.

Riley, Terry and Brian gave out a sigh of relief when they heard him say that it was time to go back.

They couldn’t wait to get back to the comfort of their rooms back in the hydroelectric dam.

But as they wanted to turn around and head down the building, some noises could be heard in the distance.

Three attack helicopters appeared and the monotonous sounds of their rotors filled the air.

Alex gave out a sigh and said, "I guess we have some more work to do before calling it a day."

"When will they give up?" Riley shook his head and muttered.

"Three of you try and take care of those trying to come up to the buildings."

"I will take care of them." Alex pointed at the attack helicopters and said.

His friends waved at him and they began to descend down the stairs to take care of the gang members that were starting to swarm around the building.

By now, they weren’t too worried about Alex being alone.

He had his undead army and myriads of abilities at his disposal.

They were more worried about the soldiers inside the helicopters being able to have a body left after facing Alex’s wrath instead.

Alex turned around back at the incoming helicopters and he raised his arms at two of them.

Crackle.

The sounds of lightning crackling could be heard and bright flashes of light lit up the surroundings when he unleashed his lightning strikes at the two helicopters.

The lightning strikes shattered the floor-to-ceiling windows and they shot at the helicopters with tremendous power.

"Watch out!"

The soldiers inside the helicopters shouted but it was too late for them.

In an instant, the lightning strike reached the helicopters and it blew them into pieces, causing explosions to ignite when the rockets they were carrying were destroyed.

The shock wave affected the last of the helicopters and it made it wobble in the air.

"I can’t keep it steady anymore." The pilot grunted as he tried to pull the stick of the attack helicopter upwards to make it lift up into the air, but couldn’t.

Lieutenant Langley, who was sitting at the back, didn’t say a word and he glanced at his other three team members.

They were calm and they nodded their heads at him.

All of them glanced at the side of the helicopter and waited for the right moment.

When the side of the helicopter turned and faced the window where Alex was, they leaped out from it together.

Alex could have blasted them out of the air, but he didn’t when he thought about the syringe he had gotten earlier from Lieutenant Lee.

It might be useful to see if they had something similar on them and whether the content in the syringe was still the same as it was.

And besides that, he had four more of his undead army that weren’t Awakened.

These four of them might be the perfect candidates for him.

With this in mind, he leaped away from where he was to see what they could do.

Sergeant Baron landed first and he quickly activated his ability.

A huge volume of water that was two meter thick and two meters in height and width appeared in front of him like a water wall.

The other two soldiers landed and they placed their hands onto the ground.

Alex sensed something move on the ground and he had a glance at what it was.

Vines appeared from the ground and they tried to wrap themselves onto his leg and ankle to trap him.

It was not all; blades appeared by his sides and they came at him without warning.

Slice.

The blades flew at him from his sides but missed.

Alex was too fast for them and he leaped away from where he was.

The vines that were growing out from the ground tried to catch where he was and they extended out towards him.

Finally, when Lieutenant Langley landed, he also used his ability immediately on his teammates.

His hands gave out a white glow and the white glow extended onto the bodies of the two soldiers with the vine and blade abilities.

When the white glow touched onto their bodies, the vines grew much faster and they lashed out at Alex at a much more tremendous speed.

It was the same with the blades.

Many more blades came at him from the sides, top, and different angles.

Alex saw what happened and he was pleasantly surprised by it.

Thankfully, he didn’t kill all of them when they were in the air.

Having an undead Awakened with the ability to buff his friends would be invaluable to him.

He glanced at Lieutenant Langley and his team before lunging at them.

Whoosh.

Alex’s figure turned into a shimmer and Lieutenant Langley lost sight of him.

All that Lieutenant Langley could see was the after images of Alex that were left behind when he got closer to where he and his team were.

He quickly changed the direction of his hand and pointed at Sergeant Baron.

When the white glow from his hand moved onto Sergeant Baron, the water wall instantly expanded to be twice as thick as it was.

Making the barrier between them and Alex to be a bigger distance.

If Alex stopped in between the water wall, it would be Sergeant Baron’s domain to deal with Alex.

At least that was what Lieutenant Langley thought.

It worked for their other missions, so he didn’t have much doubt that it wouldn’t work this time.
