Chapter 100: Wrapping Up

Woosh!

Flames shot out from their hands at Alex but Alex was unfazed by it.

He leaped to the side and he aimed his palm at the ground.

The two Awakened weren’t sure what he was trying to do when they saw him do that.

But in the next instant they knew exactly why.

Boom!

Lightning strikes blasted out from Alex’s hand and it caused an explosion on the ground.

The explosion caused the two Awakened to be hurled backwards by the impact.

They coughed out a mouthful of blood and held their hands onto their chests to try and alleviate the devastating pain that was coming from within.

Both of them tried to get up but they had no chance at all.

Alex’s fist coming at their faces was the last thing they saw before they blanked out and died.

"What do we do now...."

"He.. He..."

"Run! Damn it..."

The other men were astonished to find the two Awakened being taken care of so easily by Alex within a few moments.

They turned and tried to run away.

To hell with Bernard and whatever Lieutenant Langley promised.

They would be in hell very soon if they didn’t get away from the young man in front of them.

However, they too, didn’t have any chance to do so.

Alex came at them and took out one after another with only a blow.

They couldn’t even catch a glimpse of his movements when he finished them off.

Soon, he stood alone among the bodies of the men and he got to work.

He raised his arm and held it against the body of the two Awakened.

A dark glow appeared on his hands and they started to extend out of it into glowing threads.

These threads extended towards the bodies of the two Awakened.

When the threads got near to them, they wriggled into the bodies through their wounds.

The threads spun into the bodies continuously.

Then, the threads dissipated and the two bodies started to move uncontrollably.

They raised their hands and flames erupted from their hands, just as they were able to do so when they were alive.

It worked and it gave Alex much more motivation to keep this ability.

Alex proceeded to add the other men that were dead and lying around nearby into his undead army.

Some of those undead that he had deployed elsewhere were already destroyed so it was time for some replacement anyway.

He let the normal undead and the two undead Awakened that were under his control now go up the building to where Bernard was and lead the way.

Those normal undead led the way with the two undead Awakened following closely behind.

Men rushed down to stop Alex but they were shocked when they saw their compatriots lunge at them.

Their compatriots had soulless eyes and they had bloodied wounds all over their bodies.

"Stop! What are you doing?" The men shouted at their compatriots but it was no use.

The undead lunged at them under the control of Alex and they grabbed onto the men to start and bite at their necks and faces.

Thud.

The men hit onto the heads of these undead but the undead didn’t even flinch for an inch.

With these men taken care of by his undead, Alex and the two undead Awakened continued on their way up the building to reach where Bernard was.

Once he was there, Alex stopped at the entrance to the rooftop and he turned into a speck of shadow.

His shadow slipped through the slit at the bottom of the doors to the rooftop.

Alex quickly travelled from the entrance to the other end of the rooftop where Bernard was.

Bam.

The doors were destroyed by the two undead Awakened.

"What the hell are you two doing?!" Bernard shouted when he saw the two familiar faces.

They looked pale like those men who had gotten out from the portal earlier.

He didn’t know what happened but he was sure that the two Awakened were beyond salvation by now.

"Stop them!" Bernard shouted and it got his men out of their shock.

They lunged at the two undead Awakened.

The two undead Awakened raised their hands at Bernard’s men.

Flames shot out at the men who came at them.

Whoosh.

The flames caught the men and they could only give out a cry in pain while they frantically flailed their arms around while they bumped into each other in panic.

Bernard panicked and he glanced around.

There was no other option for him and he felt a chill down his spine at the next moment.

He activated his ability before he turned around.

A glow appeared and an energy shield engulfed his body.

When he turned around, Alex had turned back into his normal form.

Before the start he thought that he would be able to take care of Alex and his friends easily.

But Bernard wasn’t so sure by now if his A Level Energy Shield could protect himself from Alex’s attack.

Alex pulled back his arm and he punched at the energy shield of Bernard.

Thud.

His fist hit onto the energy shield and it shattered the energy shield into pieces.

Bernard gasped when he saw what had happened.

He pulled out his pistol and he tried to aim it at Alex.

But Alex turned into a shimmer and lunged at him in the next moment.

His finger touched onto the trigger when he felt a gust of wind coming at him.

Alex appeared in front of Bernard and he gave Bernard an uppercut.

His fist hit onto the lower jaw of Bernard and it sent him flying in an arc through the air, leaving a trail of blood as he flew backwards.

Bernard landed onto the ground and he laid there motionlessly.

His consciousness slowly slipped away from his mind and he only had one last thought before he was gone.

Who the hell is he?

However, Bernard would never get to know the answer.

Alex glanced at the two undead Awakened and they had taken care of the rest of the men.

A familiar sound erupted in his mind.
