The Executor in the beak mask gave a slight nod. A closer look, however, would reveal the utter coldness in the eyes hidden behind it.

"Sir, the Executor squad we dispatched has been completely annihilated. What are our next orders? Do we proceed with the original plan?"

The Executor in the beak mask nodded again. "The plan remains unchanged. Recall all remaining Executors. The prey are all gathered in one place now. This is a perfect opportunity to wipe them all out at once."

Upon hearing this, the Executor who had just spoken hesitated. He wanted to point out that, given the power their targets had displayed, their combined forces would still likely be no match for them.

However, just as he was about to speak, he looked up and met a pair of cold, emotionless eyes. The sight made the words die in his throat.

Their very survival as Executors depended on the lead Executor. His commands were to be obeyed unconditionally, without question.

"Yes, sir. I’ll go gather the remaining Executors at once."

Meanwhile, Perry Yates and the others had finished building their defenses. Now, all they had to do was wait for the Executors to walk right into their trap.

This game didn’t have a time limit, anyway. As much as they wanted to finish it quickly and leave this godforsaken place, they weren’t short on patience.

In a corner, Perry Yates sat on a rock she’d moved herself. A message from 001 echoed in her mind: the Heavenly Eye infiltration had failed.

It had reached ninety-nine percent completion, so close to success, only to fail at the very last moment.

’Looks like they found out,’ Perry Yates murmured.

Still, the attempt wasn’t a total loss.

Although the infiltration failed, 001 had managed to copy some data from their system.

The data was currently encrypted, however. She’d have to decrypt it before she could view it.

"How long will it take to decrypt the data?" Perry Yates asked.

"Estimated time: twenty-four hours."

Just as 001 began decrypting the data, Dylan Adler approached Perry Yates, his brow slightly furrowed.

"What’s wrong?" Perry Yates asked.

"Our food is running out," Dylan Adler said.

Over a hundred players had gathered here. Even if they each ate only one meal per day, the amount of food they consumed was staggering.

So even though they had recently killed a large number of Executors and looted their supplies, it wasn’t enough to keep up with their consumption.

"How much longer will our food last?" Perry Yates asked.

"Until the next meal, at most," Dylan Adler admitted frankly.

Perry Yates thought for a moment, then took out her remaining nutrient vials and Energy Bars. "I don’t need these anyway. You take them."

Dylan Adler instinctively started to refuse. He had come to Perry Yates to ask for a solution, not a handout.

"No, no, these are yours. I..."

Perry Yates cut him off before he could finish. "Just take them. I really don’t need them. It’d be a waste for me to keep them."

When she’d first built 001, she had considered the possibility of future games taking place in environments without a sun or moon.

This game had no sun, but it did have moons. However, the two red moons were simply too strange. That, combined with her own Moon Blade skill, made Perry Yates afraid to absorb their energy.

So, to avoid starving in such situations, Perry Yates had given 001 the ability to extract nutrients from the air and absorb them directly through her skin.

However, only Perry Yates, the one wearing 001, could use this ability, and she couldn’t exactly let someone else wear it.

Seeing the sincerity in her eyes, Dylan Adler knew she was telling the truth. He reached out and accepted the nutrient vials and Energy Bars.

"Perry Yates, I was wondering, could you grow some edible plants? Something like those Sunflowers."

The Sunflowers could restore energy, but they couldn’t sate hunger. That’s why Dylan Adler was asking if she could grow other types of plants.

"Of course. As long as I have seeds. Anyone who has integrated a Wood Attribute Card can do that."

Dylan Adler knew, of course, that anyone with a Wood Attribute Card could make seeds grow quickly. The problem was, they didn’t have any seeds.

"Can you grow them without seeds, then?"

Hearing this, Perry Yates couldn’t help but roll her eyes at Dylan Adler. "What do you think?"

At that, Dylan Adler shut his mouth, looking a little embarrassed. He knew it was an unreasonable request, but he was out of options.

They were about to run out of food. Everyone present had gone hungry before, but an empty stomach meant the brain wouldn’t get enough energy. Thinking would become difficult, and when people stop thinking clearly, they make mistakes.

They seemed to have the upper hand for now, but a single mistake could turn the tables in an instant.

Perry Yates mentally reviewed the cards she had integrated. Other than Sunflower, none of them were edible—not even barely. And Sunflowers only restored energy; they couldn’t fill a stomach.

Besides, constantly growing enough Sunflowers to feed everyone would be a huge drain on Perry Yates. She’d have to continuously expend her own energy to make them grow.

It couldn’t be helped. The soil here was just too poor.

Perry Yates told him the truth. "Aside from Sunflowers, I haven’t integrated any edible plants. I’ve got plenty of man-eating ones, though. You’d better go ask someone else."

Perry Yates followed Dylan Adler over to a small crowd of people. Seven or eight had already gathered. After some introductions, she learned they had all integrated Wood Attribute Cards.

Unlike Perry Yates’s Multi-attribute nature, they had each integrated a single Wood Attribute. Theirs was a purer, gentler version of the attribute.

They were already using their Skills. One by one, fresh green plants began sprouting from the ground.

Surprisingly, the plants were all common crops: potatoes, sweet potatoes, soybeans, tomatoes, and the like.

The tomatoes were especially tempting, each one a vibrant red that made one’s mouth water.

These weren’t ordinary plants, however; they had been created through Skills.

The users themselves could certainly eat them without issue, but whether they were safe for others still required inspection and Identification.

Watching the plants grow, another player stepped forward. He wore a lens over one eye and was using it to carefully observe the vegetation.
