Moira Lynch discussed it with the other two before informing Shane Rhodes of their decision.

After listening, Shane Rhodes was silent for a moment, then said, “Actually, even if you hadn’t brought it up, I wasn’t planning on telling Carole Underwood the truth. At least, not before we leave.”

Hearing this, Moira Lynch was a bit shocked. “Why?”

“Because I’ve discovered Carole Underwood can’t keep a secret. Plus, she talks a lot.”

Shane Rhodes still couldn’t figure out how a girl who seemed so introverted could talk so much.

On their way here, Carole Underwood had already told them her whole life story, from childhood to the present day.

This made Shane Rhodes feel that if they told her who they really were, their secret would be out the moment they ran into someone else.

“By the way, where are we heading next?” Shane Rhodes asked.

Moira Lynch shook her head. “I don’t know. The base I was at before had a parasite outbreak, and I’m guessing a lot of people have already been infected.”

“We can’t just stay out in the open, can we? It’s too dangerous, especially since we’re still…”

As he spoke, Kai York glanced at Carole Underwood.

Especially since they were dragging a burden along with them.

“Let’s go that way!”

“Can you guys come with me somewhere?”

Hugh Finch and Carole Underwood’s voices rang out at the same time.

Moira Lynch glanced at them both, then her gaze landed on Carole Underwood. “Where is this place you want to go?”

Under the gaze of the others, Carole Underwood pointed in the same direction as Hugh Finch.

“Why there?” Kai York asked.

Carole Underwood shook her head. “I’m not sure. My intuition is telling me I should go check it out. Really, my intuition has been super accurate my whole life.”

If anyone else had said something like that, Moira Lynch and the others would have paid it no mind. They might even have suspected the person was crazy or infected.

But Carole Underwood was different. She was the savior. Besides, she had just chosen the same direction Hugh Finch had pointed to. This was definitely not a coincidence.

“In that case, let’s go have a look,” Shane Rhodes said.

Seeing that the other three had no objections, Carole Underwood looked at them in amazement. “You just believe me? Don’t you think I’m crazy?”

“Not at all. It’s because we believe in you,” Shane Rhodes said with a gentle smile, his voice soft.

Watching Carole Underwood’s cheeks turn bright red again, Moira Lynch and the others exchanged glances. An unspoken understanding passed between them.

To avoid being attacked by monsters again while traveling, this time they chose to fly.

This way, they could not only evade monster attacks but also avoid the insects that suddenly popped up from the ground, killing two birds with one stone.

“By the way, Hugh, why did you choose this direction? Did you divine something?” Moira Lynch asked quietly.

Hugh Finch nodded. “I foresaw that if we go in that direction, we might find something important. It will be very helpful for clearing the game.”

Hearing this, Moira Lynch was about to nod, but in the next instant, she seemed to sense something. Her scythe suddenly transformed, and she screamed at the others, “Quick, get away from this spot!”

At Moira Lynch’s command, Hugh Finch, Kai York, and Shane Rhodes—who was carrying Carole Underwood—didn’t hesitate for a second, all of them moving away from their original spot with the greatest possible speed.

And the very next second, a gigantic, bloody maw filled with sharp teeth appeared where they had just been, intending to swallow them whole in one bite.

Thanks to Moira Lynch’s warning, they managed to dodge the sneak attack, but the overpowering stench of its breath was enough to make their eyes water.

Only then did the group get a clear look at what had attacked them.

It was a dinosaur, as huge as a small mountain, with a very long neck.

“It’s a Long-necked Chameleon Beast! Be careful, they have Invisibility! And watch out for their necks!” Carole Underwood shouted the warning after seeing the attacker’s true form.

“Long-necked Chameleon Beast. That name’s pretty on the nose. Perfectly sums up the characteristics of this creature that looks just like a Plesiosaur.”

As he spoke, Kai York condensed a Wind Blade in his hand.

With the sound of Breaking Sky, the Long-necked Chameleon Beast’s head was sliced clean off its neck without the slightest pause.

Its mountain-sized body crashed to the ground after losing its life, making the earth tremble twice.

Carole Underwood watched this scene with a look of utter disbelief.

‘Just like that… it’s dead?’

She had once seen with her own eyes a Long-necked Chameleon Beast level a small base, and her side had to mobilize countless experts just to make it retreat.

Yes, retreat. Not be killed.

Because they had discovered that the Long-necked Chameleon Beast’s hide was extremely tough; even missiles couldn’t harm it.

But a creature that had seemed invincible to them couldn’t even take a single blow from the young man named Kai York.

And that wasn’t all.

Carole Underwood’s gaze swept over the faces of the other three.

There wasn’t the slightest hint of shock or surprise on any of their faces, as if killing a Long-necked Chameleon Beast in one hit was no big deal.

For the first time, Carole Underwood began to have doubts about the people before her. ‘Who are they? Why do they possess such terrifying strength?’

‘These people… they couldn’t be genetically modified humans who escaped from some research institute after the apocalypse, could they?’

Carole Underwood thought to herself, finding her own idea a little ridiculous.

‘Genetically modified humans… that’s just stuff you see on TV. They can’t possibly exist in real life. It’s fake. It has to be.’

‘These people are so powerful… maybe they had some sort of fortuitous encounter. I’ve heard of that happening at another base.’

‘Yeah, that must be it.’

Meanwhile, Moira Lynch and the others were oblivious to what was going through Carole Underwood’s mind. They were busy figuring out what to do with the huge creature before them.

After all, it was a hard-won kill. Can’t let it go to waste, right?

Besides, they had only ever seen dinosaur skeletons in museums before. This was their first time seeing a living one.

It was just a shame their Space Buttons weren’t big enough, or else they would have definitely taken the entire Long-necked Chameleon Beast back with them.

Since they couldn’t take the whole thing, they could only take the most valuable parts.

With Carole Underwood’s help, Moira Lynch, Kai York, Hugh Finch, and Shane Rhodes dismantled the mountain-sized Long-necked Chameleon Beast with maximum speed.

They took the hide, its most valuable part, along with some of the edible meat.

According to Carole Underwood, the meat contained energy, and eating it could increase one’s strength.

“Isn’t that common knowledge? How could you not know?”
