Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging
Chapter 646 - 636: Javell
Javell was a lawless planet, a haven for fugitives and a breeding ground for crime.
You could say that every person here had blood on their hands. Any one of them, if found anywhere else, would be a wanted criminal.
At the same time, it was also the largest supplier of human organs in the galaxy.
Every year, countless innocent people were captured and brought here to be carved up for their organs.
And it didn’t stop with the organs. The people here would squeeze you dry of every last drop of value, not even sparing a single strand of hair.
Thinking of this, Moira Lynch decided to escape immediately. She couldn’t stay a moment longer.
With that thought, she extended her spiritual power, quickly locking onto a relatively hidden spot. The next second, she vanished.
Her disappearance naturally caught the attention of others.
"Someone’s escaping!"
They were at a port. Almost instantly, everyone—including passersby—began to look around, searching for any sign of the escapee.
According to Javell’s unwritten rule, if an escaped piece of "cargo" was found by someone else, the finder would gain the right to dispose of said cargo as they saw fit.
However, even after turning the entire port upside down, they couldn’t find the escaped cargo.
Of course they couldn’t find her. Moira Lynch was already hiding in her personal space.
It was just a shame her Teleportation Gate was still on Veridian Prime; otherwise, she could have gone home already.
"Patience, report this to the authorities. Say a starship was hijacked and all two hundred thirty-eight hostages were taken to Javell."
Got it. I’ve already notified The Federation. They said they’ll dispatch a rescue team as soon as possible.
’As soon as possible? How soon is that? By the time they get here, most of the hostages will probably be dead.’
She didn’t believe for a second that there weren’t moles within The Federation, which would explain how a place like Javell could exist for so long without being shut down.
But if they don’t send a rescue team, we won’t be able to get back, Patience said.
"If we can’t get back, we can’t get back. When the time comes, I’ll be teleported into the game anyway," Moira Lynch said with an indifferent look.
Based on what she knew about Javell from the Astranet, she wasn’t expecting to get back anytime soon. Besides, she wasn’t in a hurry.
Shane Rhodes and the others were back on Veridian Prime. If she went back, she wouldn’t have much to do besides train.
But their Talent levels had only just been raised. Even if they spent the next ten-odd days training, they wouldn’t see much improvement.
And, to be honest, she had been very curious about Javell ever since she first heard of it.
However, not just anyone could get into Javell.
You either fought your way in, or you were rich and powerful. Only those two types of people could enter Javell.
Besides those two, there was a third way: being shipped here as cargo.
But people who entered Javell this way usually didn’t live for long.
Here, strength was everything. Might made right. It was an exceptionally violent planet.
In a place like this, even interstellar pirates seemed downright benevolent by comparison.
Of course, what truly intrigued Moira Lynch was that you could buy things here that were unavailable anywhere else.
With this in mind, Moira Lynch found an item called "clay" that could change a person’s appearance, build, and aura.
She looked in the mirror at her new self—completely unremarkable and utterly forgettable, a stark contrast to her previous appearance.
’This way, I shouldn’t be recognized,’ Moira Lynch thought.
Although the clay was a single-use item, it was incredibly powerful. It could change a person from the inside out, even altering their Talent.
Unless the user voluntarily removed the disguise, the item’s effects would remain active indefinitely.
Moreover, it could change one’s Talent—and this was a true change. The new Talent was fully usable and its level was equivalent to the user’s original Talent.
At the same time, it didn’t affect the use of one’s original Talent.
In other words, possessing this item was like gaining an extra Talent without needing to train it. As long as the disguise wasn’t removed, the new Talent would persist.
This... of course, was impossible.
Using a disguised Talent normally placed an enormous strain on the body. Most people couldn’t sustain it, and in severe cases, it could even be life-threatening.
Now, Moira Lynch appeared as an unremarkable middle-aged man. As for her Talent, she had changed it to Metal Frenzy.
This was an incredibly powerful and terrifying Talent.
This Talent allowed the user to manipulate metal and form it into various weapons.
When these weapons struck an enemy and caused them pain, that pain would travel back through the weapon to the Talent user. However, for them, the pain would transform into pleasure.
The reason it was considered dangerous was that almost everyone with this Talent eventually lost control. The pleasure was like a drug, constantly eroding the user’s nerves and trapping them in a state of intoxicating ecstasy from which they could not escape.
Even without using it, simply revealing this Talent was enough to let everyone know she was not to be trifled with.
Once everything was ready, Moira Lynch waited in her personal space for a while longer before leisurely stepping out.
The spot she had chosen for her escape was very well-hidden, so a person appearing out of thin air wouldn’t attract any attention.
She just hadn’t expected that after all this time, they still hadn’t given up looking for her. They had even posted guards at the port’s exit.
Everyone leaving had to undergo an identity check.
Moira Lynch saw the wanted posters they were holding, which showed her face. It must have been a screenshot from the starship’s video feed.
She couldn’t help but complain internally. ’Couldn’t they have at least picked a flattering screenshot? They had to choose the ugliest one.’
The more she looked at it, the angrier she got, and a murderous aura began to rise from within her.
When she reached the exit, she unleashed her Talent. The men, who had been wearing vicious expressions, instantly recoiled several steps, their faces tinged with terror.
After all, no one on Javell was a good person, and Metal Frenzy was an extremely dangerous Talent. They couldn’t be sure how much sanity the person before them still had left. What if he suddenly went on a killing spree?
Just like that, Moira Lynch left the port without any trouble.
Only after he officially entered Javell did he realize that the descriptions on the Astranet didn’t even cover a tenth of the reality.
In just a dozen or so minutes, she had already witnessed several crimes.
