Chapter 615 - 605: A New Game Has Begun

At that moment, Patience was inside the pocket dimension, familiarizing itself with controlling the bionic bodies.

Based on its current progress, everything was going very smoothly. Moira believed that before long, Patience would be able to control three bionic bodies simultaneously, and then...

Then Moira Lynch could have it help manage her now somewhat sprawling enterprises.

’Hmm, saved on hiring fees. A cause for celebration, indeed.’

Because of Moira Lynch’s previous dream, none of them dared to slack off in the slightest.

After the last round of the game, they had experience, so their preparations were far more thorough this time.

First, the Gold bracelet was a must. If necessary, it could be used as their initial startup capital.

Next, Moira Lynch upgraded the original Medical Bag, increasing its capacity from one hundred doses of Medicine to two hundred.

She had wanted to upgrade it further, but unfortunately, time ran out.

Then there were the items.

Assuming the next game still limited them to five items, the Medical Bag was essential, and they had to bring the Super delicious orange as well.

Beyond that, she needed to re-select the remaining three items.

The Universal Gloves. If she sealed their item-copying ability, she should be able to bring them in.

Next was the Exoskeleton Mecha.

This Exoskeleton Mecha was the latest model Moira Lynch had purchased on Apexia, with greatly enhanced combat power and defensive capabilities.

She had bought the "Disguiser" model. The only difference compared to other Mecha was its light weight; it was even lighter than her original Exoskeleton Mecha and completely unnoticeable when hidden under her clothes.

In its inactive state, if she didn’t reveal it, outsiders would just assume it was a unique tattoo.

She had bought four sets in one go, one for each of them.

The last item was a teardrop-shaped necklace.

The blue crystal glittered under the light, looking very beautiful.

This was an item that could reduce one’s presence.

Moira Lynch touched her face and sighed. "Sometimes, being too good-looking is a real pain."

Especially since the games were bound to be chaotic, with law and order collapsed, excessive beauty could attract unnecessary trouble.

But even as she said it, there wasn’t a trace of worry on Moira Lynch’s face.

After making her choices, Moira Lynch didn’t put the items back into her pocket dimension, instead keeping them all on her person.

Once everything was ready, Moira Lynch and the others began using the Crystal Stones they’d brought back from the game, taking advantage of every minute to increase their power.

Kai York, in particular, was the most diligent.

Ever since he learned from Moira Lynch that having dual talents required twice as much effort as others, he’d been in a funk.

Then, when he remembered that Moira Lynch had one more talent than he did, he realized that meant she needed to put in three times the effort to train.

As the saying goes: no comparison, no hurt.

With Moira Lynch as a benchmark, the thought of having to work twice as hard suddenly became much easier for Kai York to accept.

Seeing Kai York like this, Moira Lynch thought for a moment. ’Better not to tell him the truth,’ she decided, ’or he might have another breakdown.’

However, there was one thing Moira Lynch had always been very curious about.

Since the end of the last game, everyone in the group had undergone significant changes.

’I know exactly why Hugh Finch and I changed,’ Moira thought. ’And I have a pretty good idea about Shane Rhodes’s change... but what about Kai York?’

According to him, he’d also had a fortuitous encounter.

Before Hugh Finch found him, his Spiritual Body had swallowed a green stone from a fish tank in the house where he was staying.

He didn’t think much of it at first. It wasn’t until after they left the game and he noticed the changes in his body that he reviewed everything that had happened and finally zeroed in on that moment.

Over the next few days, as they continuously absorbed the Crystal Stones, their power began to increase at a visible rate.

When the third day arrived with no sign of them being pulled into the game, she couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

"Looks like I was just being paranoid."

To make up for the mental exhaustion of the past few days, Moira Lynch decided to have a mushroom hot pot for dinner. A new batch of mushrooms had just matured in her pocket dimension, perfect for the occasion.

All the ingredients were ready. Just as the pot began to BUBBLE and Moira Lynch was about to dig in, she vanished.

Hugh Finch, Kai York, and Shane Rhodes stared in stunned silence for a moment. Then, one by one, they vanished too—first Kai York, then Hugh Finch, and finally Shane Rhodes.

「At the same time.」

Moira Lynch was first hit by a wave of dizziness. An instant later, the sound of beastly roars assaulted her ears.

Having just arrived, Moira Lynch immediately sensed the danger.

Without a moment’s hesitation, she used her Space Talent to teleport away.

’Whatever’s happening, getting out of here first is always the right move.’

After a few consecutive Instant Teleportations, once she was sure she was safe, Moira Lynch finally breathed a sigh of relief and sat down to take stock of the situation.

’That damn Cosmic Consciousness plays dirty,’ Moira Lynch cursed inwardly.

The moment she was teleported, a cold message had appeared in her mind:

[Mission: Survive

Time limit: Twenty days]

And that was it. Nothing else!

Moira Lynch first tried to access her pocket dimension. Unsurprisingly, it was sealed.

Next, she called out to Patience.

She was able to connect with Patience this time, but it was in a ’dumbed-down’ mode.

In short, it was now just a standard Intelligent Brain.

’Oh well, a standard Intelligent Brain it is,’ she thought. ’It’ll have to do.’

Next, Moira Lynch took stock of her current possessions.

The five items she had chosen earlier weren’t sealed away, because she had been carrying them on her person.

Then there was the Medical Bag. She could use it, but only its third function was available. The first two seemed to be sealed; at any rate, they were unselectable.

She also had two Space Buttons, one large and one small. The small one had a capacity of ten cubic meters, and the large one had a hundred. Of course, they were both empty.

Moira Lynch: ...

’If I’d known these were the rules, I would have stuffed the Space Buttons full of supplies.’

After mentally cursing out the Cosmic Consciousness a few more times for being such an asshole, Moira Lynch finally calmed down and began to analyze the situation.

’Damn Cosmic Consciousness,’ she fumed. ’It didn’t give me a single clue.’

’Thinking back to the scene when I first arrived... were those things frenzied beasts?’

’Could this be... Zootopia?’

Moira Lynch looked around. There was nothing. ’Wild guessing won’t get me anywhere,’ she thought. ’I might as well find someone to ask.’

"Pati... Never mind, I’ll do it myself."
