Moira Lynch and the others all agreed with what Hugh Finch said.

They had thought the days ahead would be as peaceful as the last couple of weeks. They never imagined this was only the beginning.

At that moment, a group of players approached them. One of the male players spoke first, "Hello, my name is Marshal of the Realm. You can just call me The General. Can we talk?"

Before Moira Lynch’s group could react, Kai York put on a shocked expression and said in an exaggerated tone, "No way. Did I hear you right? You want to talk to *us*?"

For the past couple of weeks, every time this Marshal of the Realm saw them, he’d rolled his eyes so hard they nearly got stuck in the back of his head.

"Kai, watch your mouth," Caden York scolded from the side.

But anyone with eyes could see the so-called scolding was just for show.

An unpleasant look flashed across The General’s face, but he quickly masked it. "It’s fine. I admit, my actions a while ago were a bit excessive. I realize my mistake now. You heard what the captain just said—this isn’t a solo mission. I think we should unite and cooperate."

The General stared at them intently. When they didn’t respond, he pressed on in a low voice, "What do you think?"

"After all, there’s no competition between us. I believe that as long as we work together, we’ll definitely be able to complete the mission."

At that moment, another voice piped up from the crowd.

"I think The General is right. We aren’t competitors on this one. We can absolutely work together to increase our chances of completing the mission."

The General gave a satisfied nod, then turned to look at Moira Lynch and the others at his leisure.

Moira Lynch’s group exchanged glances. Then, Shane Rhodes stepped forward and spoke for everyone. "I think you’re right. Let’s talk about how we can cooperate."

Seeing Shane Rhodes being so cooperative, a satisfied smile returned to The General’s face. "Naturally. But since we’ve agreed to work together, shouldn’t we introduce our abilities? It’ll help us coordinate when we’re assigning tasks later."

This was The General’s true goal.

During the past couple of weeks, he had won over most of the other players and learned their talents.

Any player who had survived this long had their own means of self-preservation and had developed their talent to some degree.

Of all the players now on the ship, the only talents he didn’t know belonged to the very people they had ostracized from the start.

The General waited a moment. Seeing no reaction from Moira Lynch’s group, he was just about to speak when the female player beside him suddenly tugged his arm and said:

"General, it’s alright if they don’t want to tell us. We shouldn’t force them. After all, considering what happened before, it’s natural for them to hold a grudge and be wary of us. All that matters is that we cooperate from now on."

After placating The General, the female player turned to Moira Lynch. With an apologetic look, she gave a deep bow and said in a sincere tone, "I’m sorry. What happened before was my fault. Even though I was only trying to help out of good intentions... Anyway, it was all my fault, one hundred percent. I hope you can be the bigger person and not hold it against a little girl like me."

"We’re all players, and we’ve all worked so hard to get this far. I don’t want to see it all go to waste. The General only asked about your talents so we can all cooperate more smoothly. He has no ill intentions."

She adopted such a humble posture that it made the others see Moira Lynch’s group as the unreasonable ones.

To them, she was clearly acting for the good of all, yet her kindness was being met with ingratitude.

Combined with the subtle provocations that had been happening recently, the crowd’s gazes on Moira Lynch and her friends grew even more resentful.

Some even glared with open anger, as if Moira’s group was the one bad apple spoiling the whole bunch.

’What a brilliant tactic—feigning retreat in order to advance.’

Moira Lynch looked at the female player before her, named MoonlitTears.

Although Moira had long known her true nature, she was still taken aback by what the girl had just said.

Moira Lynch looked at Shane Rhodes.

’I’m not good at dealing with people, especially not like this. If I say anything, I won’t be able to stop myself from laying on the sarcasm, and that would just make things worse.’

Shane Rhodes caught Moira Lynch’s glance and spoke up. "We can tell you our talents, but shouldn’t you tell us yours as well?"

MoonlitTears’ smile didn’t falter. "But of course. The General has a combat-type talent, and I have a support-type Healing Talent. If anyone gets hurt, feel free to come to me for healing."

As she spoke of her talent, MoonlitTears deliberately raised her voice.

The other players then introduced their talents one by one.

"Now it’s your turn."

The General looked at Shane Rhodes, his gaze scrutinizing.

"My talent is electricity. I can control electrical currents."

Upon hearing Shane’s talent, the crowd stared at him in astonishment.

Thunder-type talents were renowned for their offensive power. Moreover, no one could forget their current location.

Here on the ocean, surrounded by water, a Thunder Talent was like a tiger with wings.

"My talent is wind," Kai York said.

Next was Hugh Finch. His talent was Divination, but what he said was, "My talent is spiritual detection."

This was what Hugh Finch and Moira Lynch had agreed upon: he wouldn’t reveal his Divination Talent for the time being, using her Spiritual Talent as a cover.

"Mine is communicating with animals, but I can’t command them."

Moira Lynch deliberately added the last part to prevent these people from asking her to do things she was incapable of.

Next were Caden York and Joy Rhodes. One claimed a water talent, and the other, the ability of long-range communication.

It was obvious that both of them were hiding their true talents.

The General and MoonlitTears guessed that the group wasn’t being entirely truthful and must be holding back, but with no proof, there was nothing they could say.

’Besides, at this stage, who doesn’t have an ace up their sleeve?’

"Alright. Now that we have a basic understanding of each other, I’ll set up the teams. As the captain said, the journey ahead is full of unknowns. I suggest we schedule a night watch to prevent any unexpected incidents. Any objections?"

No one objected.

Seeing that no one was opposed, The General continued, "I’ve just done a quick count. The numbers of combat and support talents are roughly equal. How about we form pairs? That will make it easier to watch each other’s backs."
