After reading through all the messages, Moira Lynch couldn’t help but sigh. All in all, no one had it easy.

By comparison, Moira Lynch’s luck was as good as ever.

With others helping to find the wounded, she only had to focus on the healing.

If she hadn’t met Snow and the others, Moira Lynch would have likely wasted most of her time in this game just searching for the wounded.

The next day, Moira Lynch opened her eyes to the sight of a massive number of wounded people.

Moira Lynch walked into the tent prepared for the wounded, which was already overflowing with people.

At the sight, Moira Lynch quickly took out her Priest’s Staff.

A green Healing Light instantly enveloped everyone in the tent.

Under the Healing Light, those with lighter injuries were instantly healed.

Snow watched the wounds on his body heal at a rate visible to the naked eye. He had seen it happen many times before, but experiencing it firsthand was completely different from simply watching.

As someone who often fought on the front lines, getting injured on the battlefield was inevitable.

Across the galaxy, people who awakened a Healing Talent were extremely rare, so they generally enjoyed a very high social status.

Among them, those with the courage to set foot on a battlefield were fewer still. After all, they could easily obtain fame and fortune, so why risk their lives?

Furthermore, there were many kinds of Healing Talents, and most had limitations depending on their level.

People like Moira Lynch—capable of healing on the spot, treating multiple people at once, and not impairing their combat ability afterward—were few and far between.

After stabilizing everyone’s condition, Moira Lynch began to focus her treatment on the most severely wounded, based on the analysis from her Healing Device.

Taking advantage of the lull, Ellers walked over to Snow. "What happened to you? You’re a mess. Did you run into pirates?"

"Then again, how could so many of you not handle a small group of pirates? Have you all gotten worse, or did they get backup?"

’If it were the latter, Snow wouldn’t have made it back in one piece. But if it were the former...’

’Then I’ll just have to report this to Yarrow when I get back.’

Facing Ellers’ suspicious gaze, Snow quickly shook his head and said, "Not pirates. We ran into a patch of Screaming Mushrooms and Blast Mushrooms."

Hearing that, Ellers immediately understood what had happened.

"How could those two things be growing together?"

Just then, Moira Lynch happened to walk over. Overhearing their conversation, she asked out of curiosity, "Screaming Mushrooms and Blast Mushrooms?"

Patience provided a timely explanation:

Screaming Mushroom: A very timid mushroom that shrieks when frightened. Non-toxic. Research has shown that the greater the fright it experiences, the more intense its scream, which triggers an internal chemical reaction that makes its flesh more delicious.

Blast Mushroom: A mushroom with an extremely fiery temper. It will immediately self-destruct if startled or if it encounters something unpleasant.

It is non-toxic. Plucking it in the second before it detonates prevents the explosion, and that is precisely when a Blast Mushroom is most delicious.

After Patience’s introduction, Moira Lynch understood that both mushrooms were edible ingredients, and she also saw why Ellers had reacted the way he did.

’One is incredibly timid, screaming at the slightest rustle of grass, while the other has a fiery temper and explodes at the slightest provocation.’

’What a terrible combination.’

"I remember this is the growing season for Screaming Mushrooms and Blast Mushrooms. A gust of wind must have happened to blow spores from both species here. Then, through a series of coincidences, the two different spores intertwined and took root."

Snow’s expression was complicated after hearing Ellers’ explanation. "Isn’t that a bit too much of a coincidence?"

’How could there be so many coincidences in this world?’

"That’s where you’re wrong. You have to understand, life is made up of countless coincidences. If it weren’t for coincidence, would you and your wife have ever met?"

Ellers said with an air of great authority.

Snow: "I don’t have a wife."

Ellers: "...A girlfriend, then?"

Snow: "...Don’t have one of those either."

Then, both of them fell silent. Even the previously noisy tent quieted down considerably in an instant.

Some people looked at Snow with pity, while the rest gave him looks of commiseration.

Seemingly sensing the awkward atmosphere, Ellers clapped Snow on the shoulder. "It’s okay that you don’t have a girlfriend," he said comfortingly. "I don’t have one either, and I’m older than you."

Ellers’s intention was to show Snow that since he, an older man, was also single, Snow had no reason to worry at his age.

However, Snow didn’t feel comforted in the slightest.

Because Ellers was single by choice. He could stop being single anytime he wanted. As The Federation’s youngest professor, who knew how many women were lining up, waiting for a chance to marry him.

It was a completely different situation from Snow’s.

As for Moira Lynch, she had already slipped away the moment she sensed the awkward turn in the atmosphere.

’I’m still young. This conversation isn’t for me. I should just go back to saving people.’

Many of the wounded had been injured by the Blast Mushrooms. At the same time, their hearing had suffered varying degrees of damage, all thanks to the Screaming Mushrooms.

Fortunately, Moira Lynch’s ability could heal such injuries.

Moira Lynch learned from the wounded that the whole incident had been triggered by one person accidentally stepping on a Screaming Mushroom, setting off a chain reaction.

When all the wounded had been treated, Moira Lynch breathed a sigh of relief.

Having overused her talent today, Moira Lynch felt her steps were unsteady, almost as if she were floating.

It was a different feeling from overusing her spiritual power.

Overusing spiritual power was like pulling a few all-nighters in a row—a person was conscious, but their brain felt like mush.

But this was different. Moira Lynch felt utterly drained, her body overcome with such profound fatigue that it seemed she might collapse from exhaustion at any second.

Back in her own tent, Moira Lynch threw herself onto the bed and let out a long sigh.

’Made it.’

She had treated at least one or two hundred people today. Moira Lynch struggled to sit up and check the badge on her chest.

As expected, the badge had changed again.

The original badge had been an irregular hexagon, with a pair of folded wings inside it.

But now, the hexagon had disappeared, replaced by a medal in the shape of fully unfurled wings.

In the center of the wings was a silver longsword, from which hung two silver chains.
