It was because of this incident that Ellers developed a lasting aversion to any kind of animal hoof.

Thinking about what he had just eaten, Ellers subconsciously frowned. But when he recalled how delicious it was, he hesitated.

’Could it be that they only tasted so bad before because I was cooking them the wrong way?’

Moira Lynch didn’t notice Ellers’s conflicted expression. She had Patience compile a collection of recipes from Caelus and sent it to him.

"I’ve sent you the recipes. If you don’t like stewed pig’s feet, there are plenty of other dishes in there you can try."

Hearing Moira Lynch’s words, Ellers curiously opened the compressed file.

"There are so many!"

After opening it, Ellers was instantly shocked by the sheer volume of content inside.

According to historical records, cuisine was an important part of human culture.

Even now in the interstellar age, most high-end restaurants were run by humans.

If the head chef was from The Human Race, it was an even greater selling point.

"Thank you for the recipes. I’ll try them out."

Looking at the recipes Moira Lynch had sent over, Ellers thought to himself, ’With so many dishes, even if I ate three different ones every day without repeating, it would probably still take me several years to try them all.’

"Oh, by the way, the wings on your badge look like they’re about to open up," Ellers said suddenly, pointing to the Crimson Alliance badge on Moira Lynch’s chest.

Hearing this, Moira Lynch looked down and nodded. "It must be because I’ve saved a lot of people recently. That’s why it looks like this."

"In that case, you need to keep that badge safe. Whatever you do, don’t lose it," Ellers warned with a serious expression.

"Why do you say that?"

Moira Lynch felt that there was more to what Ellers was saying.

"You don’t know?"

Moira Lynch shook her head. "I don’t."

"Didn’t they tell you when you joined The Crimson Alliance?"

Moira Lynch shook her head again. She had been sent here directly by the system and had never even met anyone from The Crimson Alliance.

Seeing that Moira Lynch truly knew nothing, Ellers couldn’t help but say indignantly, "The Crimson Alliance is getting more and more careless with its duties these days."

Seeing his reaction, Moira Lynch wanted to tell him that she had never met anyone else from The Crimson Alliance. The organization was being blamed for no reason; they were quite innocent in this matter.

However, compared to clearing The Crimson Alliance’s name, Moira Lynch was more curious about the badge.

Fortunately, Ellers didn’t keep her in suspense. He explained, "There are plenty of neutral factions across the stars, but The Crimson Alliance is the only one that nobody dares to mess with. Any idea why?"

"Because they’re a humanitarian organization that saves people?" Moira Lynch asked.

"That’s only a minor reason. The most important one is that The Crimson Alliance possesses a legendary item—the Eternal Blessing. This item’s function is to grant its holder all kinds of blessings."

"Everyone who joins The Crimson Alliance receives a badge, and the material used to make them is a fragment of the Eternal Blessing."

"Using parts of a legendary item to make badges... The Crimson Alliance is quite generous," Moira Lynch remarked.

’At first, I thought it was just a counter for the number of people saved, like the ones in previous game rounds used to track a player’s performance.’

At this, Ellers smiled. "They are generous, but you don’t get to own the badge permanently."

"Not permanent? Does The Crimson Alliance take the badges back or something?"

Ellers shook his head. "Not exactly reclaim them. If a holder fails to earn the badge’s recognition within a certain period, the badge will automatically disappear and return to the legendary item—the Eternal Blessing."

"By the way, The Crimson Alliance calls this ’Awakening.’ Only once it’s fully awakened can you truly possess the badge."

After Ellers finished, Moira Lynch looked at the badge on her chest. "So, does this mean mine has been recognized?"

Ellers nodded. "I’d say so. The Eternal Blessing is said to be a benevolent item. Awakening it is most likely related to saving people."

"Also, if anyone ever asks you to hand over your badge, don’t do it. No matter the reason. The badge cannot be forcibly taken, but it’s a different story if the holder gives it away voluntarily."

"The moment you hand it over, the badge will automatically rule that you’ve voluntarily relinquished ownership, and the person who takes it will become its new master."

Hearing Ellers say this, Moira Lynch’s eyes widened. "It can actually do that?!"

’It’s a good thing Ellers reminded me. If someone in the future asked to see my item, I might have just handed it over without thinking.’

’The chances of something like that happening are low, but you can never be too careful.’

’After all, some people are incredibly patient when it comes to achieving their goals.’

"This kind of thing has happened before. One case even went to the Federation courts."

Now that Ellers had reminded her the badge was an item, Moira Lynch began to study how to actually use it.

’A blessing should be considered a passive skill, right?’

Staring at the fully spread wings on the badge, Moira Lynch wondered what kind of blessing she would receive.

At this thought, Moira Lynch couldn’t resist reaching up to touch the badge on her chest.

Just then, a golden light flashed from the badge, and a message appeared in Moira Lynch’s mind.

[Name: Blessing Badge

Status: Initial Awakening

Holder: Moira Lynch

Blessing Acquired: Luck Boost. Your luck will become extremely good for a short period of time.

Effective Duration: Four days and twelve hours.]

Moira Lynch stared at the duration. "Why is there a time limit on the blessing? Isn’t it supposed to be permanent?"

After a bit more research, Moira Lynch finally understood. Only a "true" blessing was permanent, and each person could only ever receive one.

The blessings from the Blessing Badge, on the other hand, weren’t permanent. Different blessings appeared at random, lasting anywhere from one to ten days.

This had its upsides—it meant she could experience all sorts of different blessings. The downside was that the blessings were random.

However, Moira Lynch wasn’t too bothered by this. ’A blessing is a blessing, after all,’ she thought. ’No sense in looking a gift horse in the mouth.’

’What I’m more concerned about now is the Blessing Badge’s status: "Initial Awakening." That means it just awakened. Are there other states, then?’

’And then there’s the Luck Boost... my luck will be extremely good for a short time. I need to figure out how to take advantage of this boost to maximize my gains.’

With this in mind, Moira Lynch carefully refastened the badge on her chest, making sure it wouldn’t fall off.
