Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging
Chapter 341 - 331: The Crimson Alliance 12
She had been saving people ever since the game began, and she could clearly feel her second Talent growing much stronger.
While the white flame healed his internal injuries, Moira Lynch took out some Medicine from her storage space to treat his external wounds.
Saving his life was important, but so was his face.
However, Moira had no way of restoring his lost eye.
The Regeneration Potion could only regenerate severed limbs. It couldn’t regrow an eyeball.
After about five minutes, the Healing Device scanned the man’s body again. The report showed that his internal injuries were completely healed, as if he had never been injured in the first place.
’It worked!’
Seeing the definitive results, Moira Lynch couldn’t help but cheer inwardly.
’It wasn’t just my imagination. My second Talent really has gotten stronger.’
Just then, the man on the bed slowly woke up. Seeing his surroundings, he knew he had been saved.
He glanced at Moira Lynch, who stood by his bed radiating joy, and said weakly, "Thank you for saving me."
Moira Lynch snapped out of her reverie at the sound of his voice and said humbly, "It was the least I could do. I just... I’m sorry I couldn’t do anything about your eye."
At her words, the man raised a weak hand to touch his eye and said nonchalantly, "It’s just one eye. What’s an eye compared to my life?"
Besides, he could have a prosthetic eye made and installed once he got back, so it wouldn’t be a problem.
Interstellar prosthetic eyes weren’t just simple decorations like the ones on Caelus.
While those existed, the kind he was referring to were made by Talents. Once installed, they could see just like a real eye.
Of course, an eye like that would be incredibly expensive.
After finishing with the first man, Moira Lynch quickly moved on to the second.
His injuries were only slightly less severe than the first man’s; at least his face wasn’t disfigured.
Moira Lynch used the same method as before, sending the white flame into the wounded man’s body.
As the white flame worked its magic, color gradually returned to the wounded man’s face.
Ellers, who had been watching from the side, witnessed this and once again marveled at Moira Lynch’s ability.
He knew Moira Lynch’s Talent was powerful, but he had never imagined it was *this* powerful.
He had examined the two men’s injuries earlier. They had ruptured organs and massive internal bleeding.
Under normal circumstances, their only chance of survival would have been immediate transport to a hospital and a year or two in a Healing Pod. Otherwise, it was just a matter of dying sooner or later.
And yet, Moira Lynch had healed such severe injuries by simply sending a ball of white fire into their bodies.
This was beyond shocking; it was nothing short of a miracle.
If word of this got out, countless people would be scrambling over each other, begging Moira Lynch to heal them.
For now, though, Moira Lynch’s Talent had only demonstrated a powerful Healing Ability on injuries. It remained to be seen how it would fare against diseases.
If it was just as effective against illnesses, then her ability would be truly unparalleled.
At that point, many would undoubtedly treat her as an honored guest, but it was just as likely she’d be captured and forced to heal people endlessly.
She might even be forced by one of the great families to pair with one of their own to produce even more exceptional offspring.
After all, it was common knowledge that the more outstanding the parents, the higher the chance their children would awaken powerful Talents.
In short, possession of a treasure is a crime in itself.
Ellers decided he would remind Snow and the others later not to let what happened today become public knowledge.
When he heard Ellers’ suggestion, Snow was completely understanding.
"Don’t worry, Professor El. We’re not the sort to repay kindness with betrayal. I won’t spread this around, but I must report it to the Marshal."
Ellers knew this was unavoidable, so he didn’t press the issue.
The Federation’s three Marshals had been classmates and even roommates back in school, and they were still on good terms.
Snow telling one of them meant the other two would find out as well.
However, none of the three were gossips, so Ellers wasn’t worried.
Meanwhile, by the time Moira Lynch had finished treating all the wounded, it was already afternoon.
She had been so busy that she hadn’t even eaten lunch. Only after she was finished did she realize she was absolutely famished.
When Ellers found her, Moira Lynch was sitting on a makeshift chair built from battle armor fragments, holding a lunch box and stuffing food into her mouth.
"That smells amazing. What are you eating?" Ellers asked as he walked over.
Moira Lynch showed him her half-eaten lunch box and offered politely, "I made it myself. Would you like some?"
"You can cook, too? In that case, I have to try some."
Moira Lynch was rather displeased by his tone. ’What does he mean, "You can cook, too?"’
’Do I look like someone who can’t cook?’
Despite her thoughts, Moira Lynch took out a fresh lunch box and handed it to Ellers.
Seeing this, Ellers didn’t stand on ceremony and dug right in.
The lunch box included boneless, red-braised pig’s trotters that Moira Lynch had prepared herself in her storage space.
Ellers had never eaten pig’s trotters before. In interstellar society, things like pig’s trotters, cow hooves, and sheep hooves were typically thrown away as garbage.
The moment he took his first bite, Ellers’s eyes lit up. "What is this? It’s absolutely delicious!"
He quickly polished off the entire lunch box.
Ellers licked a grain of rice from the corner of his mouth, his face an expression of pure, unsatiated bliss.
"What was that reddish meat? It was incredible! Can you give me the recipe?" ’When I get back, I’ll have the house chef make it for me every day.’
"Pig’s trotters," Moira Lynch said slowly.
Ellers froze, wondering if he’d misheard. "Impossible. I’ve had pig’s trotters before. There’s no way they could taste this good."
Ellers refused to believe that what he had just eaten was actually pig’s trotters.
Once, back when he was in school, he had gotten separated from his teammates during a wilderness survival exercise.
To survive, he had managed to hunt down a Star Pig.
Not knowing when he might be rescued, he was extremely careful with every last bit of food. He couldn’t bear to waste even the trotters, so he roasted and ate them.
But he regretted it after the first bite. The thing was completely inedible—it was rank and foul-smelling.
One bite was enough to make him gag.
