Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging
Chapter 302 - 292: Blind Box Match-Up 7
"Go with you?"
A question mark appeared on the robot’s blue screen-face.
Moira Lynch nodded, then draped an arm over the robot’s shoulder, her tone full of temptation. "That’s right. Come with me, and I can make it so you never have to go hungry again. You can have as much electricity as you want."
"Why should I believe you?" the robot asked, watching Moira Lynch warily.
It hadn’t forgotten that it was because of the human in front of it that two of its companions had been forced into early retirement after consuming too much energy.
Moira Lynch saw that while the robot was wary on the surface, it was already starting to waver. So, she pressed her advantage.
According to Patience, Moira Lynch knew that in addition to charging, these 11th-generation robots could also replenish their energy by eating electrical appliances.
So, Moira Lynch took a battery out of her space.
She had stockpiled these before the apocalypse, thinking they would be useful in an emergency.
However, from the start of the apocalypse until now, the packaging on these batteries hadn’t even been opened.
The robot looked at the AA battery in Moira Lynch’s hand and asked, puzzled, "What is this? It smells so good."
Moira Lynch explained, "This is called a battery. Have a taste. I guarantee it’s a delicacy you’ve never had before."
The robot looked at the battery in its hand. ’I’m all alone now anyway,’ it thought. ’Nothing to lose. Might as well give it a try.’
With that, the robot tossed the battery into its mouth with an air of grim determination.
After chewing, the robot’s eyes grew brighter and brighter.
’Delicious!’
It had been so long since it had eaten something so tasty.
And the energy inside was incredibly abundant.
Still wanting more, the robot looked at Moira Lynch. "That battery was too small. I didn’t even get a real taste. Unless... you give me a little more."
Moira Lynch saw through the robot’s little ploy instantly but didn’t call it out. Instead, she took out two more batteries from her space.
Although the robot claimed it hadn’t gotten a taste, it didn’t eat the batteries immediately after receiving them.
His internal energy was currently at a saturation point. If he ate any more, the excess energy would be wasted.
Looking at the batteries in his hands, the robot seemed to make a monumental decision. "Alright, I’ll go with you. But I have one condition."
"What condition?" Moira Lynch asked.
"I have more brothers and sisters. You have to take them with you too."
Hearing the robot’s words, Moira Lynch agreed without hesitation. "No problem."
After all, Moira Lynch had planned to do that anyway.
Led by the robot, Moira Lynch left the warehouse. After about ten minutes of twists and turns, the surrounding scenery started to look dilapidated.
The white walls were starting to yellow slightly, and the cracks no longer glowed with blue light.
This place looked like it had been around for quite a few years.
The robot led Moira Lynch to a warehouse.
The warehouse’s main door had started to rust.
Upon opening the large door, they found the inside packed densely with 11th-generation robots. A single glance revealed no end to them.
"Can you take all of these?" the robot asked, its voice full of apprehension.
Just as he was thinking his request might be too much and wondering if he should lower his demands, he heard Moira Lynch say in a very relaxed tone, "No problem."
Then, before the robot’s shocked eyes, Moira Lynch began to load the robots from the warehouse into her space.
Just then, Moira Lynch suddenly realized a problem. "Patience, these robots look like they’ve been shut down for a long time. Can they be restarted after charging?"
’After all, some appliances and electronic products don’t get better with age. After being unused for a long time, they can’t be started up again.’
Moira Lynch looked at the thick layers of dust covering the robots.
These robots must have been in this warehouse for a very long time.
Only the few robots near the warehouse door were a bit cleaner; they looked like they had been shut down recently.
Two of them were the robots that had been working for Moira Lynch earlier.
Soon, Moira Lynch got an affirmative answer from Patience.
[They can definitely be used, but after not being activated for a long time, some of the previously stored data and information might be gone.
Other functions should not be affected.
The 11th-generation robots are arguably the most durable generation; otherwise, there wouldn’t still be some active to this day.]
"That’s good."
With that said, Moira Lynch began collecting the robots even faster.
Meanwhile, inside the space, Moon Wheel was leading a group of animals, including Snowy and Black Wolf, as they diligently sorted through piles of blind boxes.
Different blind boxes had to be placed in different warehouses, and any crushed ones had to be sorted out separately.
As a result, they weren’t even finished with the blind boxes when large batches of robots suddenly appeared in the space, startling them.
Moira Lynch decided to leave some of the robots behind to manage her space.
She wouldn’t need too many; twenty-something would be enough.
Moira Lynch’s space was enormous, and as her power grew stronger, the space continued to expand.
Moreover, Moira Lynch could clearly feel that the crops inside the space were maturing faster and faster.
This meant that Moira Lynch was often unable to utilize the space efficiently, resulting in many wasted resources.
Now, with these robots, these problems would be easily solved.
It wasn’t that Moira Lynch didn’t want to keep more, but she couldn’t afford to support too many. So, she figured it was better to just sell them all.
The robot she had spoken to before would definitely be kept. After all, he already knew her identity, so she couldn’t possibly sell him.
’What if her identity was exposed?’
As for the selection of the remaining robots, she left the decision to him.
It didn’t matter who was chosen; Moira Lynch only cared about the results.
Moira Lynch was busy until the afternoon of the third day of the game, by which time she had finally collected all the robots in the warehouse.
Moira Lynch wasn’t sure exactly how many robots she had collected during this time, but she was certain the number exceeded one hundred thousand.
Before hitting one hundred thousand, she had been collecting them one hundred at a time.
After the count reached one hundred thousand, she couldn’t be bothered to count anymore.
After leaving the warehouse, Moira Lynch went straight out of the blind box processing factory.
The game system had previously said that she could freely enjoy the rest of her time.
Staring at the completely unfamiliar place, Moira Lynch’s face was cold, and she stood perfectly still, radiating a keep-your-distance aura.
In reality, she was just inwardly urging Patience to hurry up and download a navigation app.
Two minutes later, the navigation app was finally installed. A job search app had also been downloaded along with it.
