Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging
Chapter 301 - 291: Blind Box Match-Up 6
After getting a clear look at how to use the item inside the blind box, Moira Lynch was tempted to call it the ultimate show-off device.
I mean, who wouldn’t want to make an entrance accompanied by auspicious, rainbow-colored clouds and a sky full of golden light?
Just thinking about the spectacle was thrilling.
And with the device in Moira Lynch’s hand, you could not only have auspicious clouds and golden light behind you, but also all sorts of other backgrounds—falling flower petals, snow, angels, demons, you name it.
[Atmosphere-Creating Chip: Install it on any object and carry it with you. When the holder activates the chip, it will automatically generate various illusions behind them, making them the center of attention.
P.S. One chip corresponds to only one special effect.]
The blind box was only palm-sized. When she opened it, a black chip lay quietly inside.
’This one is the "Flower Fairy Descent" effect.’
When activated, it would create a beautiful, enchanting rain of flower petals.
Moira Lynch was quite taken with the chip’s effect. After all, who didn’t want to be a little dramatic in their youth?
However, Moira Lynch remembered that the blind boxes here were all unsold items that had been phased out.
In other words, there must be better versions of this Atmosphere-Creating Chip.
She had Patience run a search, and sure enough, there were.
Not only were they more feature-rich, but they could also be implanted directly into the skin, making them much more convenient to use.
Especially when Moira Lynch saw that it offered one-hour home delivery.
She decisively clicked "buy."
After making the purchase, Moira Lynch went back to collecting the blind boxes.
There were many other types of blind boxes left, and their contents were all-encompassing. From toy pots and pans to full-sized starships, it had it all. Truly, anything and everything could be put in a blind box.
Of course, the most common ones were still the various toy blind boxes.
In the end, Moira Lynch stopped looking at them individually. She simply stored all the blind boxes in her dimensional space and had Snowy, Moon Wheel, Black Wolf, and her other pets sort through them.
What was Calming Bell up to, you ask? It was on Veridian Prime, of course, taking care of the children.
Calming Bell was now the children’s favorite companion.
An hour later, a robot found Moira Lynch amidst a pile of blind boxes.
"Your delivery. Please sign for it."
Moira Lynch took the package and eagerly tore it open. Inside was a black box with a metallic finish.
Opening the box revealed a white chip.
Compared to the black chip from before, this one was clearly smaller, only about the size of a grain of rice.
Moira Lynch followed the instructions, activated it, and pressed it against her skin.
The moment it touched her skin, Moira Lynch felt a sharp prick, as if from a needle. Then, the chip slid directly beneath her skin.
Curious, Moira Lynch touched the spot where she had applied the chip.
She could feel a tiny, hard lump under her skin, but it wasn’t obvious. You had to deliberately feel for it to notice it.
Moira Lynch had bought the latest, top-of-the-line model. The biggest difference from the previous chip was that this one could simulate all sorts of scenes, realistic enough to pass for real, and could even recreate memories.
Of course, the price wasn’t cheap; the average person couldn’t afford it.
Next, Moira Lynch continued to collect the mountain of blind boxes while also discovering a new hobby: online shopping.
As a once-thriving planet in the galaxy, it had declined due to the impact of the Intelligent Brain. But as the saying goes, a starved camel is still bigger than a horse.
You could still buy many things here, and all with one-hour home delivery.
Moira Lynch immediately started searching for all sorts of items to provide warmth, the first on her list being temperature-regulating clothes.
The latest models could maintain one’s body temperature at an optimal level, no matter the environment.
Caelus was about to face extreme cold. ’But then again,’ she thought, ’I don’t think I’m affected by the cold.’
’I’ve been so busy, I’d almost forgotten about that.’
’I’m not afraid of the cold, so the extreme cold poses no threat to me at all.’
That being said, Moira Lynch still ordered a set for herself.
She was only immune to the cold; who knew what other extreme weather Caelus might face later on?
Besides her own, Moira Lynch ordered several more sets. She couldn’t forget about Shane Rhodes, Kai York, and Hugh Finch.
Just as Moira Lynch finished ordering the temperature-regulating clothes, she found blind boxes containing them.
The quality of these clothes was even better than the ones she had first brought back to Caelus. Moira Lynch happily stored them in her dimensional space.
In addition to the temperature-regulating clothes, she also bought a ton of other things to handle various situations, all scheduled for delivery within the hour.
Moira Lynch was busy from morning until evening before she finally managed to store all the blind boxes in her dimensional space. At the same time, she finally received the last delivery she had ordered that day.
You could say that for the entire day, aside from eating, Moira Lynch hadn’t stopped doing two things: storing all kinds of blind boxes in her dimensional space and receiving all kinds of deliveries.
Compared to her first day, it had been an incredibly productive one.
Looking at the now-empty surroundings, Moira Lynch was filled with a sense of accomplishment and gave a big stretch.
From the start of the game until now, she had gone almost thirty-six hours without rest.
Moira Lynch decided to rest for a few hours before checking out other places.
After all, she had finished collecting all the blind boxes here. However, Tarmir had more to offer than just blind boxes.
And so, Moira Lynch found a clean spot, sat down, and began to meditate.
After an unknown amount of time, Moira Lynch suddenly felt something cold touch her face.
Opening her eyes, she saw a robot standing before her.
"It’s you? What are you doing here?" Moira Lynch asked, looking at the familiar robot.
"That’s what I’d like to ask you. Why are you in my home? And what did you do to my home? Where are all the things?"
The robot’s barrage of questions left Moira Lynch baffled.
"Your home? Isn’t this a warehouse for expired blind boxes?"
"It is a warehouse for expired blind boxes, but since nobody ever came here, it eventually became my home," the robot said with righteous indignation.
Hearing this, Moira Lynch was left speechless.
She noticed it was the only robot here. "Where are your other two friends?" she asked.
At her question, the robot gave Moira Lynch a reproachful look. "They ran out of power. The company dismantled the last charging station today. Before long, once my power runs out, I’ll be just like them—stuck in a dark warehouse, never to see the light of day."
After hearing the robot’s words, an idea struck Moira Lynch. She suddenly said, "Since you’re all going to be decommissioned anyway, would you be willing to come with me? I can guarantee you’ll have an endless supply of electricity from now on."
