Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging
Chapter 201: Desert Island Survival 25
Shirley Blackwood was about to attack when it was suddenly ambushed. It let out an enraged roar, its fury fixed on Black Wolf’s location.
Just then, Moira Lynch and Black Wolf split up. Black Wolf moved forward to draw Shirley Blackwood’s attention while Moira hid, waiting for an opportunity.
Thanks to her Illusion Cloak, Moira Lynch easily evaded Shirley Blackwood’s notice.
According to Black Wolf, the stone it was looking for had been swallowed by Shirley Blackwood. To retrieve it, they would have to defeat the beast.
Black Wolf had already told Moira Lynch about Shirley Blackwood’s weakness.
Although Shirley Blackwood’s entire body was encased in hard scales, it had been injured by Black Wolf in the past. A scale near its heart had been ripped off, making the new growth in that spot far thinner and more fragile than the rest.
If they could just shatter that scale, Shirley Blackwood would be temporarily incapacitated, even if the blow wasn’t fatal.
The only problem was that the spot was difficult to find. Shirley Blackwood kept it well hidden, and the scale looked no different from the others, making it impossible to identify by sight alone.
While hiding in the shadows and watching Black Wolf battle Shirley Blackwood, Moira Lynch suddenly noticed the group from before preparing to sneak away.
The player with spiritual abilities kept glancing back as they went.
Seeing this, Moira Lynch felt one of her eyes flash with white light. Instantly, a breathtaking radiance bloomed around her.
The brilliant colors made the player freeze for a second. Then he quickly turned back, and his group hurried their escape.
Meanwhile, Moira Lynch was also startled by the sudden phenomenon.
She was completely bathed in the mystical, brilliant colors.
But unlike the other player, whose vision was completely obscured by the brilliant light, Moira Lynch’s sight was unaffected.
In fact, her vision became even sharper within the dazzling light.
Feeling a faint heat in her left eye, Moira Lynch had a sharp intuition that this phenomenon might be her doing.
But she had no time to dwell on it.
The battle between Black Wolf and Shirley Blackwood was reaching a fever pitch.
Although Shirley Blackwood was severely wounded, with half of its maw blown apart by the earlier explosion, it was still trading blows with Black Wolf, relying on its sheer size.
Moira Lynch also noticed that Black Wolf seemed to be deliberately avoiding the Crystal Stones on Shirley Blackwood’s body, which further restricted its attacks.
Seeing this, Moira Lynch knew she couldn’t wait any longer. ’I have to find that weak spot Black Wolf mentioned, and fast.’
Soon, Moira Lynch noticed something. Though Shirley Blackwood’s body was covered in multicolored Crystal Stones, there was one spot on its abdomen, visible when it reared up to attack, that was completely bare.
After further observation, she finally located the fragile scale Black Wolf had described—and by extension, Shirley Blackwood’s heart.
She could even see the stone Black Wolf had mentioned; it had fused with the heart itself.
Moira Lynch’s original plan was to use her Thousand Feather Bow to pierce the scale and severely wound the creature’s heart.
However, after witnessing its resilience, she realized Shirley Blackwood’s combat strength and Life Energy were far greater than she had anticipated.
’What if my attack succeeds, but Shirley Blackwood isn’t killed or knocked unconscious? What if it just flees?’
’Given its size, if it decides to run, neither I nor Black Wolf could possibly stop it.’
So, Moira Lynch decided to change her strategy.
In the wider galaxy, the Space System wasn’t just for creating pocket dimensions; it was also an incredibly powerful combat Talent.
A powerful Space System Talent could directly warp or even tear space itself.
Thinking of this, Moira Lynch decided to give it a try.
She closed her eyes and extended her spiritual power, enveloping both the fighting Shirley Blackwood and Black Wolf. Then, she focused her full attention on Shirley Blackwood.
In Moira Lynch’s mind’s eye, Shirley Blackwood’s entire internal structure appeared—its heartbeat, the flow of its blood—forming a complete, albeit black-and-white, diagram.
Within this monochrome world, Moira Lynch locked onto Shirley Blackwood’s heart. She gathered the ambient Space Power and began to warp the space around it.
Shirley Blackwood, still in the heat of battle, seemed to sense the danger. It sent Black Wolf flying with a lash of its tail, its sharp eyes scanning its surroundings.
But it was no use. Concealed by her Illusion Cloak, she was hidden not far away within the shimmering light she had created. The beast would never find her.
As the pain in its heart grew increasingly sharp, Shirley Blackwood finally realized it could not stay here any longer.
It glanced at Black Wolf, who it had flung into the distance, then began to drag its massive body away in an attempt to escape.
But Moira Lynch wasn’t about to give it that chance. As she warped the space around the heart, the stone embedded within it finally began to loosen.
Seizing the opportunity, Moira Lynch snatched it directly into her personal storage space and then accelerated the spatial warping.
With Moira exerting her full power, Shirley Blackwood, which hadn’t managed to get far, suddenly spasmed. Its body convulsed once more before it collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
In Moira Lynch’s mind’s eye, she could see that she had twisted Shirley Blackwood’s heart into knots.
The next thing she knew, an overwhelming headache crashed down on her. It had been a long time since she’d felt anything like it.
She always felt this way after overexerting her spiritual power, but this time, the pain was far more intense than ever before.
Moira felt like someone was having a chainsaw rave inside her skull.
Fortunately, her Healing Device detected the problem and immediately administered a Healing Skill.
A moment later, with her headache subsiding, Moira Lynch took out the stone she had pulled from Shirley Blackwood’s body.
The stone was about the size and shape of a soccer ball. On closer inspection, however, its surface was pitted and cratered, like the face of the moon.
Having been embedded in Shirley Blackwood’s heart, the stone was still covered in blood and gore, a truly horrific sight.
Beyond that, Moira Lynch could sense a chaotic power roiling within the stone.
This power was sealed tightly within a layer of some mysterious substance.
Although Moira Lynch didn’t know what it was used for, she could guess it was extremely dangerous.

As Moira Lynch watched Patience run through its sequence, her expression slowly shifted from shock to gravity.
This had never happened before.
