Chapter 561: Daddy, I Need Help.

Leo was at the entrance of the forest when he spotted Nova leading his daughter, Maya, ahead of him as he taught her about the various stones on the side. Maya was very attentive and curious as well, Leo smiled at the sight wondering, if this was how normal relationships were supposed to be like.

Then he shook his head and ignoring the camera crew filming him in the distance, he picked up the shovel and began digging at the soft top soil and only when he removed the top layer did he collect the soft soil from the pit. Then he also picked up some stones from the side. He didn’t need a special kind of stone like Nova.

Quickly, he finished his things and easily picked up the fully loaded pail with one hand. The pail was as big as a small basin-tub. The viewers were all amazed and the females were almost going crazy by this display. Leo didn’t care, he just carried the load back to the courtyard. He didn’t forget picking up the wooden twigs and broken branches.

He went back to the courtyard, and in the corner of the yard he placed the pail down. He looked around and found that Lily had yet to return so he decided to go and find her. However, just when he was going out, he found the little girl walking in with a man behind her.

Leo raised his brow and walked over, Lily also saw him and smiled brightly as she skipped over to his side and said, "Baba, I got the things."

Leo smiled and patted her head and Lily continued, "This is Uncle Steve, he leaves here and takes care of Grandpa Hilo and Grandma Tyr. They are the ones who gave me the wok, and oil, and these nuts are from Grandpa Townhead, he also gave us some spices."

Leo thanked the man and took the goods from him. Steve seemed to be an introvert, and after giving over the things, he left the courtyard. The show was telecasting the normal lives of people in a small town, so there were not many restrictions.

After Steve left, Lily said, "Baba, I want to talk to you about something."

The young man hummed and then crouched down and began to line up the stones into a frame, after he made sure that the crooked frame from stones was in position and will not fall apart, he went to the side and filled a bucket of water before coming back to the side, and placed the soil on the ground, and started mixing it with water.

Lily tilted her head and asked, "Baba, what are you doing?"

Leo replied, "I am using the water to make a muddy mix, that would cover the stones and become our stove."

Lily asked, "Should I help?"

Leo smiled and said, "You can only help three times, and you have borrowed the goods, so this is enough. But you can tell me how you managed to get the goods."

Lily raised her chin and said, "Well, I didn’t borrow the goods, I purchased them by exchanging them with a music performance at the Town park.

Grandpa Town Head said that he knew about my skills and then I played a few songs for the people, and then they gave me these things."

Leo paused, he looked at his daughter and sighed as he said, "After I make this stove, I will give you a big hug."

Lily chuckled, she didn’t expect that her father would feel so emotional over this. The stove was finished by Leo very quickly and Lily leaned close to it. She asked, "Baba, should we click a photo?"

Leo chuckled and said, "Yes, come over."

Lily ran over, raised her communicator, and then clicked a picture and posted it online. Leo shook his head and just then the little girl said, "Baba, can we cook food now?"

Leo sighed and shook his head as he replied, "The stove is wet, and if we light up a fire directly, then the moisture trapped in the layers might expand and try to find a way out. This could lead to a collapse."

Lily thought about it and said, "Fine, I will wait. But I have something else to discuss."

Leo nodded and the two people, one young and one old, sat down under the big willow tree and Leo asked , "What do you have on your mind?"

The little girl told him about the proposal that she made to the old town head, and how the old man was hesitant about accepting the help. Leo nodded and asked, "So, now you tell me, do you want to help them all or are you looking at it from the perspective of a business model?"

Lily replied without even a second of hesitation, "I want to help them. Business can be done with the rest of the world but in this town I felt something that I have never felt before. If I try to sum it up, then it would be called novelty. The novelty of living a life without the glorified constructs of capital. Do you know that people here are still using the old ways of treating the soil and cultivating crops?"

She went on and on about the things that she saw in the town today. Leo understood that the little girl was captivated by the so called novelty and wanted to lend a hand to preserve this way of living, not only for the older people, but also for the younger generation like herself so that they could understand the hard work it took to live in the past and be more thankful for what they have right now.

Lily clearly stated all these thoughts to Leo and the young man hummed before he said, "So, what do you want me to do here?"

Leo wanted to know exactly what Lily wanted to do. She thought for a bit and replied, "Can we ask someone in power to make a call to the power distribution department to upgrade the supply lines of the town to replace the whole network with green energy?"

Leo smiled and said, "Since you already know about the solution, then why not execute it by yourself? You already own a few businesses and also a high amount of shares in others. With Frag as your proxy and attorney, you can ask her to handle this for you."

Lily opened her eyes wide and the people on the stream were shocked. They realized that the little girl was really different from the rest of the children her age.

Just as the little girl was about to act. She saw Nova walking in with a big stone slab over his shoulder and Maya carried a stack of fire wood over her head. She looked very tired and Lily dashed over to help the little girl while Leo walked up to help Nova.
