Age of Wizards: I Can Analyze All Things
Chapter 508: The Issue of War (2)
Chapter 508 -254: The Issue of War (2)
Including Pei Ze, all the Councillors listened with calm expressions, showing not the slightest surprise. They had clearly known about this for some time.
“Speaker Wu Xiang has communicated with Lady Fungi, but she refuses to hand over Pan Mo.”
“The topic of our discussion today is how to resolve this matter.”
As his voice fell, the hall descended into silence.
A moment later, Yin Yongqin slowly broke the silence, his tone flat. “The arrest warrant for the renegade Wizard Pan Mo was issued by the Council. At this point, it cannot be withdrawn, let alone ignored. This concerns the reputation and prestige of Chenxi City; we absolutely cannot back down.”
“Pan Mo must die. If Lady Fungi remains unwilling to hand him over, then we will have to take him ourselves.”
Several Councillors nodded in agreement.
On this point, all the Councillors were of the same mind.
The authority of Chenxi City—or rather, the Dawn Council—could not be challenged.
“That said, given the selfish nature of demons, why would she antagonize us for Pan Mo’s sake?” Yi Nan questioned.
Ji Zhang and the others also looked toward Xi Nan, equally puzzled by this.
Demons had an utterly rotten reputation. It was a good day if they didn’t try to swindle you. It seemed highly unlikely that one would confront a Wizard City head-on just for someone like Pan Mo.
It went completely against the typical demonic way of doing things.
Xi Nan said grimly, “I am not entirely clear on the specific reason, but it should be related to the divine body of the God of Decay and Death.”
“The divine body?”
The Councillors were all taken aback. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ
Only Pei Ze remained calm and unfazed.
After all, he already knew the inside story.
Ji Zhang said thoughtfully, “So, the reason Pan Mo possessed the Cyan Flame back then was because he had found the divine body of the God of Decay and Death?”
“That is most likely correct,” Xi Nan said gravely. “Pan Mo must have used the divine body of the God of Decay and Death as a bargaining chip to form a contract of cooperation with Lady Fungi.”
Only then did everyone understand.
The nature of Lady Fungi’s power was highly compatible with that of the God of Decay and Death. With the divine body as a bargaining chip, it wouldn’t be difficult to persuade her to cooperate.
And although demons were chaotic and selfish by nature, they were still bound by contracts. As long as a contract was made, there was no need to worry about them going back on their word and backstabbing you.
If it were any other race, they might still worry about the demon planting tricks within the contract.
But Wizards had no such concerns.
In the entire Multiverse, besides demons and devils, Wizards were the ones who used contracts the most and were the most proficient in them.
There were even times when demons and devils suffered losses at the hands of Wizards.
As a High-tier Wizard, Pan Mo was all too familiar with contracts. There was no need to worry about Lady Fungi pulling any tricks.
Mo Weng sighed. “It seems a battle with Lady Fungi is unavoidable, then.”
Ji Zhang stated with a blank expression, “Chenxi City has never feared any Evil Demon. Since Zugmoi wants a fight, then a fight she shall have.”
Xi Nan looked at the other Councillors. “And your opinions?”
“They’ve brought the fight right to our doorstep. Of course we can’t back down.”
“It’s been too long since we taught those demons a lesson. They think we’re a pushover. This is the perfect opportunity to make an example of Lady Fungi.”
“I have no objections.”
Including Pei Ze, every Councillor voiced their approval.
Seeing this, Xi Nan gave a solemn nod and said gravely, “Since we have a unanimous decision, the motion for war against Lady Fungi is officially passed.”
Everyone’s expressions immediately turned solemn.
Although they did not fear a war with Lady Fungi, she was, after all, a full-fledged Demon Lord with immense power. Even Chenxi City could not afford to underestimate her.
“Ji Zhang, have the Silver Light Legion prepare for war.”
“Yi Nan, stabilize the Teleport Anchor Point to Shedakra and prepare for mass troop teleportation.”
Xi Nan swiftly issued his orders, arranging the various tasks.
“The war will commence in six months.”
…
After the Council meeting ended, the orders began to be passed down. The entire Chenxi City instantly began to operate with the speed and precision of a complex instrument.
A sense of the calm before the storm quickly swept through the Wizard City.
Returning to his Wizard Tower, Pei Ze immediately summoned Tower Spirit No. 1.
“No. 1, report the Wizard Tower’s status.”
[Wizard Tower: All-Knowing]
[Level: Large (Reinforced)]
[Tower Spirits: No. 1, No. 2, No. 3]
[Facilities: Secondary Elemental Melting Furnace, Large Floating Ring (Reinforced), Stargazing Platform, Warehouse District, Experimental District, Training Area, Meditation District, Planting District…]
[Servants: Ancient Tree Deer Spirits (635), Shadow Giant Dragon, Golden Oak Tree, Ten Thousand Flowers Fairies, Water Sprites (6), Thorn Spirits (1724)…]
[Defenses: Large-scale Maze Locking Protective Energy Field (Reinforced)]
[Combat Systems: Spell Towers (Reinforced) x500, Thunder God Golems x3500]
The last time he had reinforced the tower was nearly ten years ago. Since then, Pei Ze had not made any further reinforcements to his Wizard Tower.
The only change to the Wizard Tower was that the number of Thunder God Golems in his Golem Legion had more than doubled.
‘The war starts in six months. There’s not enough time to reinforce the Wizard Tower.’
Pei Ze mused to himself.
In truth, there weren’t many aspects of the All-Knowing Wizard Tower left to reinforce.
Its power source, defenses, and various combat facilities had all essentially been reinforced to their limits.
To enhance it further, he would have to convert it into a Floating City. The required resources couldn’t be gathered in a short time, and the construction time would be measured in centuries. It was impossible to achieve on short notice.
‘The Secondary Elemental Melting Furnace can’t be reinforced or upgraded any further. The same goes for the Maze Locking Protective Energy Field and the Spell Towers.’
Due to the limitations of their original foundation, the reinforcement of any combat facility had a ceiling.
To break through that ceiling, one would have to tear down the foundation and rebuild from scratch, but that would result in something entirely different.
‘If I want to see an immediate boost in combat power, my only option is to focus on the Golem Legion.’
A glint flashed in Pei Ze’s eyes as he quickly formulated a plan.
“All-Knowing, integrate the Rule of Space and upgrade the Thunder God Golems.”
[Task created. Beginning derivation of Thunder God Golem upgrade plan.]
Pei Ze then ordered Tower Spirit No. 1 to halt the production of Thunder God Golems and focus all efforts on stockpiling resources and energy. As soon as the upgrade plan was derived, they would immediately begin modifying the new golems with full force.
After arranging matters with the Wizard Tower, Pei Ze resumed his training.
Enhancing the Wizard Tower’s combat capabilities was ultimately secondary; what truly mattered was his own strength.
Considering he only had six months to prepare, which was not enough time to convert a new Rule Origin Crystal, Pei Ze decided against his original plan to dissipate a Rule Origin Crystal and instead continued his training methodically.
A little over two months later, the derivation of the new golem’s upgrade plan was complete.
The original Thunder God Golem’s combat power was merely close to the level of an Elemental Mage. The new golem, integrated with the Rule of Space, officially broke through to the fourth-level.
Not only was its ability to control Thunder Elemental Energy further enhanced, but it also gained abilities such as short-distance teleportation, small-scale Spatial Locks, and Dimension Slashes, drastically increasing its combat power.
Pei Ze immediately modified one of the new golems himself and summoned several Otherworldly Creatures for a live combat test.
The results were very much to his satisfaction.
The new golem’s combat capability was roughly equivalent to a Level 4 Element Wizard with 70% to 80% elementalization, far surpassing the old version of the Thunder God Golem.
The key was that the manufacturing cost had not increased by much.
The cost of one new golem was about twenty-five thousand Magic Crystal Stones.
Compared to a single unit of fourth-level combat power, this cost was practically nothing.
The only problem was that the new golem’s manufacturing process far exceeded the capabilities of the Golem Factory. Only Pei Ze, with the aid of his Eye of Omniscience, could produce them.
This effectively blocked the path to mass production.
‘Oh well. There are pros and cons. Compared to the increase in combat power, this drawback is acceptable.’
Pei Ze gazed at the giant golem before him, thought for a moment, and clapped his hands together.
“From now on, you’ll be called the Sky-Ringing Golem.”
After naming the new golem, Pei Ze immediately threw himself into the work of updating and replacing the old models with the new Sky-Ringing Golems.
