Chapter 506 -253: Beside the Truth, Rule Origin

“It’s still too early for that,” Pei Ze said with a faint smile.

He wasn’t being entirely modest. It would take at least another three hundred years to fully master the Rule of Space, so he was indeed still a long way from a promotion and breakthrough.

“I need to work hard too. I can’t let you catch up to me so quickly.”

Annie stretched, revealing her beautiful curves.

Pei Ze smiled slightly. “It seems you’ve gained quite a bit during your time in the Abyss.”

Before he became a Sixth-level Wizard, he couldn’t see through Annie’s depth at all. He only knew she was a Rule Wizard.

However, after breaking through to become a Sixth-level Wizard, and especially as his mastery of the Rule of Space deepened, Pei Ze could now vaguely perceive Annie’s power level.

The Vampire Wizard was indeed a Rule Wizard, but she had definitely not reached the eighth level.

The rule she mastered was naturally the Rule of Blood, which was extremely compatible with the abilities of the vampire race.

Although it couldn’t compare to superior rules like Death and Life, and was far inferior to Space and Time, it was still a cut above the Rule of Elements.

By Pei Ze’s estimation, Annie’s power should rank in the upper-middle tier among Seventh-level Wizards.

“I did gain a few things,” Annie said with a hint of regret. “If it weren’t for Pan Mo and Lady Fungi, I would have gained even more.”

After a pause, she narrowed her eyes and added, “If the Dawn Council decides to make a move against Lady Fungi and Pan Mo, be sure to count me in. For free.”

Clearly, this Vampire Wizard held a grudge.

Pei Ze smiled and agreed.

The Dawn Council would surely not refuse an additional Seventh-level Combat Power.

After discussing business, Annie left without any delay. Suddenly, only Pei Ze and Gu Lin remained in the living room.

Pei Ze looked at the young woman. Perhaps due to the tempering of bloody battles, she now had a sharp and fierce aura that she lacked before, making her seem all the more valiant and heroic.

And from the overflowing Spirit fluctuations, she was already in the third-level crystallization stage. He estimated it wouldn’t be long before she was promoted to an Elemental Mage.

“…Why are you staring at me?”

Seemingly unable to bear Pei Ze’s unabashed gaze, Gu Lin chided him, her face slightly flushed.

Pei Ze smiled faintly and said, “It looks like Annie will be staying in Chenxi City for a while. What are your plans?”

Gu Lin clearly had a plan. Hearing his question, she immediately replied, “I’m going to push to become an Elemental Mage here in Chenxi City. I’ll think about leaving after I successfully break through.”

Pei Ze nodded in understanding.

The Gu Family was already one of the top ten Wizard Clans in Chenxi City. With a powerful backer like Annie behind her, Gu Lin had no need to worry about the resources required for promotion.

As long as her power reached the required level, breaking through to become an Elemental Mage would be a natural progression.

“Well, congratulations in advance,” Pei Ze said with a smile.

Gu Lin’s lips curled into a smug smile. Her eyes darted around, and she suddenly asked, “What about Yin Xue? Why haven’t I seen her?”

Pei Ze shook his head. “I’m not sure either.”

After returning from the Abyss, Pei Ze had only met Yin Xue once. Afterward, he had been busy improving his strength and preparing for the Holy Land qualification battles, so he hadn’t seen her again.

However, he guessed Yin Xue was either on a mission for the Witch Hunting Team or in secluded cultivation.

Although she hadn’t had a miraculous encounter like Gu Lin, the connections and resources behind Yin Xue were in no way inferior.

In a true comparison, the Yin Family’s power was far greater than the Gu Family’s. After all, their Patriarch was a Councillor.

And while her teacher, Mo Weng, was a bit weaker than Annie, he was still a Tier Six Alchemist. The resources he possessed were far greater than those of the Vampire Wizard.

Because of this, Yin Xue’s rate of improvement was not much slower than Gu Lin’s.

Calculating the time, Yin Xue had most likely reached the critical point for a breakthrough. There was a ninety percent chance she was currently in seclusion, in the process of breaking through.

“Is that so?” Gu Lin pouted. “You two are so close, and you don’t know?”

Pei Ze chuckled but said nothing, simply staring at Gu Lin.

‘Her jealous expression is quite cute,’ he thought.

Gu Lin, on the other hand, couldn’t handle his gaze and quickly made an excuse to leave.

Pei Ze chuckled for a moment, then rose and went to the Meditation Room.

Sitting down cross-legged, Pei Ze called up information about Rule Wizards from the Eye of Omniscience and began to browse it with concentration.

In essence, Rule Wizards were simply users of rules.

They mastered rules and understood rules, allowing them to draw upon power from the rules that existed within all things—the Power of Rules—and thus possess immense strength.

Building on this foundation, if a Rule Wizard wanted to obtain even greater power, they had to achieve a deeper understanding of their rule.

In simpler terms, it was about increasing their “permissions” over the rule, thereby allowing them to mobilize more Power of Rules.

And when their understanding and mastery of a rule reached a certain level, they could come into contact with the legendary Rule Origin, allowing them to break through to the eighth level.

The relationship between the Rule Origin and the Power of Rules was, in fact, equivalent to that between elemental energy and an elemental origin.

The two were the same in essence, differing only in their level of power.

And in the world of Wizards, there was a name for the Rule Origin that cut closer to its essence—Truth!

For this reason, the eighth level was often referred to as being “at the side of Truth.”

This meant an existence standing before the gates of Truth, about to touch Truth itself.

‘At the side of Truth…’

Pei Ze’s eyes flickered slightly, a contemplative look on his face.

This information was top-secret data from Chenxi City, not available to the public. Only Councillors of the Dawn Council had the authority to view it.

Pei Ze had only obtained this information after joining the Dawn Council, which was how he learned about the higher realms.

In addition, he had learned a great deal about Chenxi City and the Star Realm Alliance from Mo Weng and Yin Yongqin.

For example, Chenxi City currently had a total of three Rule Wizards. With the recently promoted Xi Nan, that made four.

In the Star Realm Alliance, this number was considered lower-middle tier.

Some powerful Wizard Cities, such as Silver Stream City, Mingying City, and Green Forest City, generally had seven or eight Rule Wizards each.

As for Eighth-level Wizards, existences of that caliber no longer belonged to any single Wizard City but were a force for the entire Star Realm Alliance.

Any Wizard who advanced to the eighth level would be invited to join the Star Realm Council, becoming a member at the apex of the Alliance’s ruling class.

Even in the vast, boundless Multiverse, they were all famous and influential figures.

An Eighth-level Wizard was still too distant for the current Pei Ze to consider. The concept of the Rule Origin, however, gave him some inspiration.

‘Since the Power of Rules can be created by compressing Soul Power, can the Rule Origin be created in the same way?’

The more Pei Ze thought about it, the more feasible it seemed.

If he truly succeeded, setting aside the massive boost to his combat power, the very process of converting the Rule Origin should greatly enhance his comprehension of the Rule of Space.

After all, there was a precedent. The process of converting the Power of Rules had already been proven to enhance his comprehension of the Rule of Space. There was no reason the Rule Origin should be any different.

Overjoyed, Pei Ze immediately issued a command.

“Omniscience, deduce a method to convert Soul Power into Rule Origin.”

[The difference in power levels between the two is too great. Conversion is impossible.]

Pei Ze froze.

This was the first time the Eye of Omniscience had ‘refused’ his command.

‘The difference in power levels is too great?’

Pei Ze frowned, and a sudden thought struck him.

‘What about using the Power of Rules?’

[Task created. Beginning deduction of a method to convert the Power of Rules into Rule Origin.]

A look of delight appeared on Pei Ze’s face.

‘It really works.’

‘I just don’t know how much Power of Rules is needed to convert into Rule Origin.’

Although the time it took Pei Ze to convert Power of Rules had shortened considerably after his comprehension of the Rule of Space improved, it was still a time-consuming and laborious task.

‘But as long as it can improve my comprehension progress, any amount of time and effort is worth it.’

A determined glint shone in Pei Ze’s eyes. He pointed forward and swiped, tearing open a spatial rift and beginning to convert the Power of Rules.

The Eye of Omniscience would need a significant amount of time to deduce the method. In the meantime, he needed to condense as much Power of Rules as possible.
