Age of Wizards: I Can Analyze All Things
Chapter 504: Comprehension in the Holy Land (2)
Chapter 504 -252: Comprehension in the Holy Land (2)
In the end, the choice was obvious.
While he was lost in thought, the man and the fairy had already stopped in front of a building.
Pei Ze took a closer look. The building was constructed entirely of rock, standing only about three meters high. It didn’t cover a large area and looked a bit like a potato, with patterns resembling lava carved onto its surface.
From those patterns, Pei Ze sensed a simple, ancient, and profound aura.
“This is the place, Lord Wizard. Let’s go in.”
Liu Ying said in a clear, bright voice, turning back to smile at him before leading the way into the building.
Pei Ze didn’t hesitate and followed her inside.
His vision darkened for a moment, then suddenly opened up.
Before him was an incredibly spacious great hall.
The floor was paved with perfectly square bluestone slabs, and four towering stone pillars stood at the corners of the hall, exuding a sense of majesty and substance.
The floor, walls, and even the surfaces of the pillars were carved with patterns similar to the ones outside, but these were blue. They looked a bit like circuit boards, blending a simple, ancient feel with a hint of mystery.
‘The area inside is at least a hundred times larger than it looks from the outside.’
Pei Ze was thoughtful. He focused his senses and, as expected, detected the omnipresent Power of Spatial Rules in the air.
“Lord Wizard, this is a resting place in the Holy Land.”
Liu Ying explained in her crisp voice:
“There are over a hundred of these resting places scattered throughout the Holy Land, specifically for the Wizards who come here to live and rest.”
“This is also the best place in the Holy Land to comprehend the Rule of Space.”
‘I can comprehend the Rule of Space while resting?’
‘That’s quite convenient.’
‘At least I won’t have to sleep out in the open.’
Pei Ze nodded and smiled. “Thank you for your hard work.”
“It was no trouble at all. It’s what I’m supposed to do.”
Seemingly flattered by Pei Ze’s gratitude, an irrepressible, joyous smile spread across Liu Ying’s lovely face, and she squirmed a little shyly.
“In that case, I won’t disturb you any longer, Lord Wizard. If you need anything, just go outside and call my name. I am at your command at any time.”
After saying this, Liu Ying bowed and left the great hall without any delay.
Pei Ze withdrew his gaze and immediately issued a command in his mind.
“Omniscience, use this environment as a baseline and analyze the Rule of Space.”
[Task created. Beginning analysis of the Rule of Space.]
Pei Ze sat down cross-legged and also began to comprehend the Rule of Space, tackling it from two angles at once.
「A month passed in the blink of an eye.」
Waking from his comprehension, Pei Ze opened his eyes and immediately summoned the Eye of Omniscience. A quick look revealed that his comprehension progress for the Rule of Space had increased by 1.78%.
‘Not bad.’
A trace of joy flashed in Pei Ze’s eyes.
Outside, he would have only increased his comprehension progress by 0.11% over an entire year.
But here in the Holy Land, his efficiency was nearly two hundred times greater.
‘The Holy Land truly lives up to its name.’
‘No wonder so many Wizards want to enter the Holy Land. It really is a fantastic place to comprehend Rules.’
Pei Ze marveled inwardly.
At this rate, in his three years in the Holy Land, he could increase his comprehension progress by at least 60%.
He would save five to six hundred years of time, at the very least.
Snapping out of his delight, Pei Ze immediately cleared his mind of stray thoughts and refocused on his comprehension.
After an unknown amount of time, Pei Ze was suddenly startled awake, his gaze turning to the outside with astonishment.
With a flicker, he instantly vanished and reappeared outside.
In the far distance, a faint grayness was gradually spreading.
Even from such a great distance, Pei Ze could clearly feel the cold, deathly silence of all things perishing.
‘Someone is advancing to Rule Wizard.’
‘And with the Rule of Death, no less.’
A flicker of surprise crossed Pei Ze’s eyes as figures flashed through his mind.
The Wizards currently in the Holy Land all came from the top five Wizard Cities in the Holy Land qualification tournament.
Among these Wizards, very few comprehended the Rule of Death—only three in total.
One was Xi Nan, whom Pei Ze knew.
The other two were Wizards from Silver Stream City and Mingying City.
To be able to break through and advance within the Holy Land meant this person’s comprehension of the Rule of Death was already at a high level—at least over fifty percent.
In that case, it could only be Xi Nan.
His comprehension progress of the Rule of Death had long surpassed eighty percent, and he was only a step away from breaking through.
Evidently, comprehending in the Holy Land had helped him take that final step.
SWOOSH!
Two streaks of light shot over like meteors and stopped beside Pei Ze.
The light faded, revealing Yin Yongqin and Mo Weng.
“Teacher, Patriarch Yin.” Pei Ze gave them a slight nod.
The two nodded in return, then looked into the distance, a trace of envy in their eyes.
“Xi Nan has finally taken this step.”
If Pei Ze could guess that Xi Nan was breaking through, then naturally, so could Mo Weng and Yin Yongqin.
“It looks like our Chenxi City is about to gain another Rule Wizard,” Mo Weng said with emotion.
Yin Yongqin also showed a look of deep agreement.
In the Star Realm Alliance, the number of top-tier Wizards was the most important factor in measuring the strength of a Wizard City.
Everything else was just icing on the cake.
And when it came to top-tier Wizards, Rule Wizards were undoubtedly at the top of the pyramid.
Each additional Rule Wizard represented a massive boost in a Wizard City’s power.
Xi Nan’s breakthrough was undoubtedly a tremendous piece of good news for Chenxi City.
As members of Chenxi City, the three of them were naturally overjoyed from the bottom of their hearts.
But along with their joy, they couldn’t help but feel a bit of envy and wistfulness.
This was especially true for Mo Weng and Yin Yongqin.
Their own comprehension progress on their respective Rules wasn’t high enough. Even after three years of comprehending in the Holy Land, it would be impossible for them to advance to Rule Wizard.
At most, they could significantly increase their Rule comprehension progress, which would improve their chances of a successful breakthrough in the future.
Among the three, only Pei Ze’s expression remained calm.
After all, with the Eye of Omniscience, his advancement to Rule Wizard was only a matter of time, so he didn’t feel particularly envious.
Xi Nan’s breakthrough ignited a fire in all three of them.
Mo Weng and Yin Yongqin soon parted ways with Pei Ze, and the latter returned to the great hall to immerse himself in comprehension once more.
Time passed in the blink of an eye.
「Three years went by quickly.」
On his last day in the Holy Land, Pei Ze opened his eyes and recited silently in his mind:
“Omniscience, check my current status.”
[Rule of Lightning: 20.53%]
[Rule of Space: 64.36%]
It was about what Pei Ze had expected.
During his three years in the Holy Land, his comprehension progress for the Rule of Space had increased by about 64% in total.
‘I’m still short 35.64%. At my normal cultivation speed, it would take about three hundred and thirty years to reach one hundred percent.’
Pei Ze let out a long sigh of relief, his heart filled with joy.
Compared to the more than nine hundred years it would have taken before, three hundred and thirty years was already quite good.
If he could find other ways to accelerate his comprehension progress, the time could be shortened even further.
But such methods were probably not easy to find.
‘It’s time to leave.’
Returning to his senses, Pei Ze rose to his feet.
He could already faintly feel a repulsive force from the surrounding space, and it was growing stronger with every passing moment.
Even with his comprehension of the Rule of Space exceeding sixty percent, he couldn’t resist this powerful repulsive force.
According to Liu Ying, any Wizard could only stay in the Holy Land for three years at most. Once that time was exceeded, they would be rejected by the Holy Land and forcibly expelled.
This was also why the Star Realm Alliance had a three-year time limit.
Pei Ze waited quietly.
When the final second arrived, a dense silver light instantly appeared and engulfed his body.
When he opened his eyes again, Pei Ze was back in the Meditation Room of the All-Knowing Wizard Tower.
With a thought, a silver light appeared before him and coalesced into an exquisite butterfly.
He pressed the “seed” into the butterfly’s body, then waved his hand, allowing the butterfly to fly away on its own to return the seed to Mo Weng.
Just as he was preparing to continue comprehending the Rule of Space, Tower Spirit 1 suddenly sent a message that guests had left a request to visit.
“Guests? Who are they?”
Tower Spirit 1 immediately transmitted an image.
Pei Ze focused his gaze and raised his eyebrows in surprise.
‘When did they return to Chenxi City?’
After a moment’s thought, Pei Ze sent out another message, then went to the reception hall to wait.
Before long, two people indeed arrived at his door.
It was none other than Gu Lin and Annie, whom he hadn’t seen in a long time.
