Chapter 385: Chapter 205: Advancing to Elemental Mage, a Sublimation of Life’s Essence

"Omniscience, analyze the lightning pattern on the Stone Monument Fragment."

’When it came to analytical ability, even ten of me couldn’t compare to the Eye of Omniscience.’

’Using the Eye of Omniscience for the analysis would surely cut the required time by more than half.’

[Task created. Beginning analysis of the Stone Monument Fragment’s pattern. Estimated cost: 3,046,285 energy-units of Spiritual Power.]

’Over three million energy-units of Spiritual Power!’

Pei Ze pondered for a moment.

After advancing to the rank of Elemental Mage, Spiritual Power was no longer the primary standard for judging a Wizard’s strength.

When an Elemental Mage fought, they consumed the free-floating elemental energy in the air. Manipulating this energy, in turn, consumed the Elemental Fire deep within their Sea of Consciousness.

In the Wizard World, Wizards referred to the energy contained within the Elemental Fire as the Elemental Source.

The higher the progress of one’s elementification, the more Elemental Source they naturally possessed.

Pei Ze thought for a moment, then issued a command in his mind. ’Omniscience, let one unit represent the amount of Elemental Source equivalent to 1% elementification progress. Quantify the Elemental Source I currently possess and calculate the cost for all future tasks in units of Elemental Source.’

[Quantification complete.]

[Task 1: Analyze the Stone Monument Fragment’s pattern. Estimated cost: 145 units of Elemental Source.]

’Just as I thought!’

Pei Ze smiled.

’I have 1.65 units of Elemental Source right now. It should take about three months to accumulate 145 units.’

’Once the analysis of the Stone Monument Fragment is complete, my power will get another massive boost.’

’Besides the Stone Monument Fragment, are there any other ways to quickly increase my elementification progress at this stage?’

Pei Ze fell into deep thought once more.

’Elemental Mages don’t have a set Cultivation Technique. If they had something like the Meditation Techniques from the Wizard Apprentice stage, progress would be much faster.’

’If there isn’t one, why not create one myself?’

An idea suddenly struck him: the Dragon Pattern.

Back when he was a Crystal Wizard, he had relied on the Dragon Pattern to significantly increase the growth rate of his Spiritual Power.

’So, could the Dragon Pattern be used to improve my elementification progress?’

It wasn’t impossible.

The process of improving elementification was essentially about absorbing elemental energy to constantly temper the body. This allowed the body to gradually adapt to and align with elemental energy, eventually transforming it into a complete aggregate of elemental energy.

’Since the Dragon Pattern can accelerate the absorption of Energy Particles, a modified version should be able to speed up the absorption of elemental energy and improve the tempering efficiency, right?’

Putting thought into action, Pei Ze immediately issued a new command.

’Omniscience, modify the Dragon Pattern. The goal is to accelerate the absorption of elemental energy and improve my elementification progress.’

[Task created. Beginning modification of the Dragon Pattern. Estimated cost: 134 units of Elemental Source.]

’That’s a bit less than analyzing the Stone Monument Fragment.’

After a moment’s thought, Pei Ze decided to prioritize the task of modifying the Dragon Pattern.

In the long run, the benefits of creating a new ’Cultivation Technique’ were obviously far greater.

With everything settled, Pei Ze stood up and stretched. He felt refreshed in both body and mind, his thoughts exceptionally clear.

His elementified body felt as if an invisible weight had been lifted. A sense of lightness and unimpeded flow permeated him, and he felt as though his entire being had ascended.

Compared to Crystal Wizards, Elemental Mages had already begun to touch upon the world’s fundamental powers, stepping into an entirely new plane of existence. The two were on completely different levels.

In addition to their power, the lifespan of an Elemental Mage was also vastly extended.

An Elemental Mage could live for at least two or three thousand years.

Once their Elemental Fire fused with their soul, a Wizard’s lifespan could extend to over ten thousand years.

There were quite a few Elemental Mages in Chenxi City who had been alive since the Wizard City was first established.

Leaving the Meditation Room, Pei Ze headed for the main gate of his residence. He planned to visit High Tower Academy to inform his teacher of his breakthrough and ask a few questions.

As he passed through the rear garden, Pei Ze saw Xiaoyi sunbathing, attended to by a diligent group of Flower Fairies.

Upon seeing Pei Ze, Xiaoyi immediately chirped and flew over. She instinctively tried to dive into his arms as usual, but she stopped abruptly upon reaching him. Instead, she darted up and down around him, her expression puzzled.

Fairies are innately close to nature, their perception of natural energy far more acute than that of other races.

This was especially true for a Ten Thousand Flowers Fairy.

The little creature keenly sensed that something about Pei Ze had changed. The elemental energy surrounding him was many times more active than before, and the quantity was simply staggering.

"Eee!"

Pei Ze smiled faintly. "You’re pretty sharp. Don’t worry, I just had a breakthrough."

"Eee!"

Xiaoyi didn’t quite understand the Wizard ranking system, nor what Pei Ze’s breakthrough signified. All she knew was that he had grown stronger again. Her face immediately lit up with a grin, and she began to dance in the air with excitement.

’After all, if Pei Ze got stronger, she got stronger too. That meant even fewer people would dare to bully her!’

After playing with the little creature for a while, Pei Ze left the residence and made his way to High Tower Academy.

...

「Medicine Garden No. 8, Potion House.」

Mo Weng, who was developing a new potion, abruptly looked up, his eyes flashing.

’An Elemental Mage? Who could it be?’

Mo Weng was rather surprised. Elemental Mages rarely came to this area.

Besides, this aura of Thunder Elemental Energy was strangely familiar.

’Could it be...?’

Mo Weng’s eyes widened in sudden realization, an expression of utter shock spreading across his usually composed face.

A moment later, the figure appearing in the doorway confirmed his suspicion.

"Pei Ze!"

Mo Weng stared intently at Pei Ze, his face a mask of disbelief.

"You’ve advanced?"

"Yes, Teacher," Pei Ze replied with a calm nod.

Mo Weng took a sharp breath, struggling to suppress the torrent of emotions swelling in his chest.

Although he had long expected Pei Ze to become an Elemental Mage eventually, his estimates had put that at least one or two years away. Who could have imagined that less than two months after returning from the Tower of the Holy Ring, Pei Ze would successfully break through and advance?
