Chapter 386: Chapter 205: Advancement to Elemental Mage, Sublimation of the Essence of Life
The speed was far beyond his expectations!
"Good, good!"
A gratified, joyous smile spread across Mo Weng’s face.
He was now more certain than ever that accepting Pei Ze as his disciple was the wisest decision he had ever made.
Given time, Pei Ze’s achievements would undoubtedly far exceed his own!
"Master." Pei Ze got straight to the point. "I want to apply to the Council for the reward from the Tower of the Holy Ring."
Mo Weng’s expression turned serious. "Have you decided what you want?"
Pei Ze said without hesitation, "I want Divine Blood—the Divine Blood of the Lord of Thunder!"
Mo Weng was taken aback; he hadn’t expected Pei Ze to make such a request.
But on second thought, the rewards from the Tower of the Holy Ring were essentially one of two things: either various resources for building a Wizard Tower, or various rare items to improve one’s elementalization progress.
And Pei Ze had clearly chosen the latter.
Among the many rare items that could improve elementalization progress, Divine Blood was undoubtedly one of the very best.
Especially since Chenxi City had just killed the Lord of Thunder not long ago and harvested a good amount of his Divine Blood, Pei Ze’s request was perfectly timed.
After pondering for a few seconds, Mo Weng slowly nodded. "That shouldn’t be a problem. As far as I know, the Council still has a batch of the Lord of Thunder’s Divine Blood right now."
Divine Blood was undoubtedly a hot commodity. Plenty of Wizards wanted it, including many Fifth and Sixth-level Wizards.
After all, whether for research or for creating potions, Divine Blood was an extremely rare material.
However, Pei Ze had won the Battle of the Holy Ring and rendered a great service to Chenxi City. The Council would surely not deny his request for the Lord of Thunder’s Divine Blood, and other Wizards would have no grounds to object.
"But are you sure you want the Lord of Thunder’s Divine Blood?" Mo Weng’s tone shifted. "Divine Blood is certainly effective, but it is also extremely dangerous. You should be aware of this, right?"
Of course, Pei Ze knew.
Divine Spirits were said to be immortal and indestructible. Even if they were blasted to smithereens, leaving only a tiny residue, they could be resurrected and reborn with enough time and Power of Faith.
This was because a Divine Spirit’s consciousness was fused into every part of its body, down to the smallest particles.
For example, Divine Blood contained the memories and consciousness of the Divine Spirit.
Although it was only passive memory and consciousness, if absorbed into the body without any protective measures, one could very well be gradually corrupted by it, eventually becoming a vessel for the Divine Spirit’s resurrection one day.
This was no exaggeration!
In the eyes of Wizards, Divine Spirits were like viruses, possessing an extremely virulent infectivity and corrosiveness.
Even Power of Faith could corrupt a living being’s consciousness, turning them into a fanatical believer of a Divine Spirit, to say nothing of Divine Blood, which was thousands upon thousands of times more corrosive.
Even Elemental Mages could fall victim to it if they were careless.
But even with the side effects, Divine Blood still held a huge attraction for Wizards.
Pei Ze was no exception.
"I know, Master. I will be careful," Pei Ze said with a determined expression.
Seeing this, Mo Weng didn’t try to persuade him further. He gave a slight nod and said, "I will apply to the Council on your behalf."
"Thank you, Master!"
Pei Ze’s heart filled with joy.
’The Stone Monument Fragment, the improved Dragon Pattern, and the Thunderbolt Divine Blood—all three of these will be of great benefit to my elementalization progress.’
’Once I’ve assimilated all three, my elementalization progress will surely take a huge leap forward.’
’By then, I should be powerful enough to go to the Ancient Forest Plane and fulfill my promise to help the Ancient Tree Deer Spirit Race with their migration.’
’Right!’
Pei Ze suddenly remembered something.
Mo Weng had once promised that as long as he advanced to become an Elemental Mage and established his own Wizard Tower, he would be allowed to participate in the god-slaying operation targeting the Spider Goddess.
And he had now fulfilled half of that requirement.
’A Wizard Tower...’
Pei Ze pressed his lips together. ’Building a Wizard Tower is no simple matter.’
