Chapter 384: Chapter 205: Advancing to Elemental Mage, The Sublimation of the Essence of Life

The combination of these three factors was what allowed him to condense the highest-quality Elemental Fire!

Pei Ze opened his eyes and raised his index finger. With a CRACKLE, a brilliant arc of electricity materialized at his fingertip. More arcs appeared, swiftly condensing into an egg-sized, blue-white ball of light whose surface roiled like liquid lightning.

This was a simple trick, mentioned in the materials he had studied, that Elemental Mages used to test their strength.

’Eye of Omniscience, analyze its power.’

’Category: Lightning’

’Power: 45,843.3 degrees’

"Over forty-five thousand degrees!"

A satisfied smile appeared on Pei Ze’s face.

A casual strike from a newly promoted Elemental Mage had a power of around thirty thousand degrees.

Over forty-five thousand degrees was roughly the level of an Elemental Mage who had achieved 20% elementalization.

In other words, despite having just become an Elemental Mage, his strength was already on par with one who had achieved 20% elementalization.

This was clearly one of the benefits of having the highest-quality Elemental Fire!

’Going by this, my strength at 60% elementalization might be equivalent to another Elemental Mage’s at 80%,’ Pei Ze mused.

An Elemental Mage’s power was inextricably linked to their elementalization progress.

The higher their level of elementalization, the more elemental power they could control, the faster they could recover, and naturally, the stronger they became.

When elementalization reached 80%, a mage could fuse their Elemental Fire with their soul, allowing them to ascend to a higher level and become a Level 5 Wizard.

Furthermore, before this fusion of Elemental Fire and soul, the higher one’s elementalization progress, the stronger they would be after their promotion and the greater the benefits.

According to statistics released by the Star Realm Alliance, a Wizard who advanced to the fifth level at the minimum standard of 80% elementalization had almost no chance of becoming a Rule Wizard. Barring some incredible stroke of luck, very few even managed to reach the level of a Sixth-level Wizard.

Only Wizards who advanced with over 90% elementalization had a chance of becoming a Rule Wizard.

However, after reaching 80% elementalization, increasing it by even a single percentage point was exceptionally difficult. Both talent and resources were indispensable.

Many Level 4 Wizards languished at this stage for over a thousand years, unable to raise their elementalization above 90%, and ultimately had no choice but to give up in despair.

’Eighty percent elementalization...’

A sharp glint flashed in Pei Ze’s eyes, but he quickly reined in his thoughts and returned his focus to the present.

’For now, I should focus on getting my elementalization to 80% before I worry about anything else.’

In short, the process of an Elemental Mage growing stronger was simply the process of deepening their elementalization.

’Eye of Omniscience, check my current elementalization progress.’

Elementalization (Lightning): 1.45%

Pei Ze nodded to himself.

A newly promoted Elemental Mage usually had an elementalization progress of around 1%. His 1.45% was already quite impressive.

’Next, I need to find a way to increase my elementalization progress.’

There were many ways to increase one’s elementalization progress. The most common was to find a place with dense elemental energy and enter secluded cultivation.

Or, one could simply create such a place themselves—for instance, by using an Elemental Activity Array to create an area with dense elemental energy.

However, this method was rather inefficient. It could take more than a decade to increase one’s elementalization by a single percentage point.

The best method was to consume rare treasures rich in elemental energy.

For example, the Elemental Cores left behind by dead Elemental Creatures.

Or rare plants that grew by absorbing elemental energy.

Of course, the absolute best items were things like the Divine Blood or divinities of the various Elemental Deities from the Divine Planes.

A single drop of an Elemental Deity’s blood was worth thousands of other rare treasures.

’Divine Blood, huh...’

Pei Ze grew thoughtful.

A moment later, he snapped out of his reverie. He suddenly recalled something and retrieved the Stone Monument Fragment he had obtained from the Tower of the Holy Ring from his Space Ring.

After returning from the Tower of the Holy Ring, Pei Ze had tried to comprehend the Stone Monument Fragment several times. Unfortunately, aside from temporarily improving his control over the lightning element, he had made no other discoveries.

But now that he was an Elemental Mage, perhaps something would be different.

And he was right. As Pei Ze’s gaze fell upon the Stone Monument Fragment, the lightning pattern on its surface seemed to come alive. In an instant, it leaped through his eyes and plunged into the Elemental Fire deep within his mind.

In an instant, the incandescent flame erupted as if doused in oil. With a FWOOSH, it flared violently, blazing with intense light.

He didn’t know how much time had passed before he abruptly snapped back to reality. He glanced at the quartz clock on the wall and was shocked to find that more than seven hours had gone by.

"That much time passed?"

Pei Ze was stunned. A moment later, a realization dawned on him, and he quickly summoned the Eye of Omniscience.

Elementalization (Lightning): 1.65%

His elementalization progress had actually increased by 0.2%!

Pei Ze was overcome with a pleasant surprise. He hadn’t expected the Stone Monument Fragment to be so effective. A single session of comprehension had actually increased his elementalization progress by 0.2%!

With normal cultivation, achieving this result would have taken at least a year or two.

"What a treasure!"

Pei Ze’s gaze on the Stone Monument Fragment was like that of a man looking at a priceless treasure.

The Tower Spirit Commander from the Tower of the Holy Ring hadn’t lied to him; this thing truly was of immense benefit to his elementalization.

’I remember the Tower Spirit Commander saying that this Stone Monument Fragment contained a sliver of the Power of Thunder Rules. As long as I can fully comprehend it, I can significantly increase my elementalization progress.’

Pei Ze stared at the lightning pattern on the Stone Monument Fragment. After that immersive session of comprehension, he seemed to have a slightly better understanding of the pattern. It was no longer as abstruse and utterly incomprehensible as it had been before.

However, his understanding was still very shallow. Pei Ze estimated he would need to study it at least a hundred more times before seeing any significant change.

By that estimate, it would take at least a few years.

Pei Ze’s eyes shifted as a plan quickly formed in his mind.
