Age of Wizards: I Can Analyze All Things
Chapter 351 - 195: Wax Melting Demon, Knowledge of Planar Travel (Part 2)
Chapter 351: Chapter 195: Wax Melting Demon, Knowledge of Planar Travel (Part 2)
Faced with the group of enemies swarming him, bristling with killing intent, a cold smirk flashed across Pei Ze’s face.
Without any visible movement, a dense cluster of silver lights abruptly appeared, circling around him and solidifying into metal spikes.
After a brief pause, the metal spikes shot through the air, transforming into a metal storm that swept out in all directions!
To deal with this group of Dark Elves, none of whom had even reached Level 3, Pei Ze didn’t even need to use his ancient runes. His Silver Star alone was more than enough.
The Dark Elves had no time to dodge at all and were instantly impaled by the metal spikes hurtling toward them!
SHINK! SHINK! SHINK!
Amidst a series of sickening thuds, all but one of the dozen or so Dark Elves were instantly riddled with holes. Only Putana, seeing how dire the situation was, managed to flash backward repeatedly and barely save her own life.
THUD! THUD!
One after another, the gruesome corpses fell to the ground, the fresh blood soaking the earth in an instant.
Julis stared blankly at the scene before her, her mouth agape and speechless.
She had considered that Pei Ze might be able to defeat the Dark Elves, but she had never imagined it would be such an overwhelming rout.
More than a dozen formidable Dark Elves couldn’t even survive a single exchange with him!
’Who in the world is this person?’
Putana’s face was pale, her eyes filled with terror as she looked at Pei Ze.
’A Level 3 Wizard!’
’This is definitely a Level 3 Wizard!’
For a moment, Putana felt her limbs go cold, as if she had been plunged into an icy abyss.
As Pei Ze’s cold gaze fell upon her, the Dark Elf shivered violently and scrambled backward, shouting, "Sir, do you really want to make an enemy of the great Rose?"
"You don’t represent Rose."
Pei Ze scoffed and waved his hand. Four or five metal spikes immediately changed direction, whistling through the air toward Putana.
Seeing this, the last shred of hope in Putana’s heart vanished. With a sharp cry, her graceful and sultry body instantly melted like a candle exposed to heat, transforming in the blink of an eye into a two-meter-tall, foul-smelling, sludge-like creature.
A single blood-red eyeball was embedded in its body, and eight powerful tentacles extended from its surface.
SHINK!
Its tentacles flailed wildly, and after three of them were severed, it finally managed to block the incoming metal spikes.
"A Wax Melting Demon!"
Pei Ze let out a soft sound of surprise. He hadn’t expected this Dark Elf to actually be a Wax Melting Demon.
Wax Melting Demons, also known as the Handmaidens of Rose, are transformed from Dark Elves and loyally serve the Spider Goddess in the Bottomless Abyss and across various realms.
Their sole purpose for existing is to carry out the various missions assigned by the Spider Goddess.
Pei Ze had initially thought she was just using Rose’s name to scare him, but now it seemed she truly was acting on Rose’s orders to capture this Silver Moon Elf.
That said, Pei Ze still had no intention of letting her go.
’In any case, the Spider Goddess is far away in the Dark Territory. There’s no way she would personally come to the Thunder Elemental Half-Plane for a mere Wax Melting Demon.’
With a mere thought from Pei Ze, more metal spikes materialized from thin air and swept toward the Wax Melting Demon like a violent storm.
Wax Melting Demons typically have three forms: a beautiful female Dark Elf, a giant black variant spider, and a nauseating sludge creature like the one before him.
But as disgusting as it was, this was the Wax Melting Demon’s strongest combat form.
In this state, a Wax Melting Demon possessed the strength of at least the Third Level of Gasification, and the one before him was no exception.
Facing Silver Star’s metal storm, it managed to hold on for a whole seven or eight seconds before being blasted into dust.
Julis watched the entire exchange, unable to help but swallow nervously, her gaze toward Pei Ze filled with awe.
’That was a Wax Melting Demon, a renowned elite warrior under the command of the Spider Goddess, yet it was killed so easily by this Wizard. And from the looks of it, he wasn’t even using his full strength!’
’Even if he isn’t an Elemental Mage yet, a power like that must be close!’
Having dealt with the Dark Elves, Pei Ze turned his gaze to the Silver Moon Elf.
Meeting Pei Ze’s eyes, the Elf Maiden instinctively flinched before she caught herself, forcing a somewhat fawning smile.
"Lord Wizard, thank you for your help. Julis is eternally grateful."
"Spare me the pleasantries," Pei Ze said coolly, glancing at her. "You were one of the people who interrupted my potion-making. They’ve already paid the price. What are you going to do about it?"
"Ah?"
Julis froze. Her first instinct was to offer to compensate for Pei Ze’s losses, but then she suddenly remembered that she had no Elemental Crystal Dust on her.
Even if she wanted to make up for it with something else, she had nothing of equivalent value.
After thinking for a good while, Julis said with a pained expression, "Lord, I have nothing on me that can compensate for your loss. You are a man of great magnanimity, please forgive me this once."
Pei Ze was unmoved. "What plane are you from?" he asked indifferently. "And how did you end up being targeted by Dark Elves?"
"Well..." Julis hesitated, clearly unwilling to say more.
Pei Ze had only asked casually, not because he was genuinely interested. Seeing her reluctance, he waved his hand dismissively.
"I won’t make things difficult for you. Hand over the spatial knowledge of your Silver Moon Elf Race, and I’ll let this matter slide."
In truth, this was Pei Ze’s real objective.
The Silver Moon Elf Race excelled at Space Magic, which included not only short- and long-distance spatial displacement but also planar travel.
That was why many Silver Moon Elves were travelers.
Although the Silver Moon Elf before him wasn’t very strong—at Level 2 at most—the fact that she could escape from the Dark Territory to the Thunder Elemental Half-Plane meant she had likely mastered a method of planar travel.
And that was precisely what Pei Ze coveted.
He would have to travel between planes sooner or later. Mastering a method of planar travel early on was just good planning.
Julis was startled by Pei Ze’s demand and looked hesitant, but she quickly agreed.
While spatial knowledge was important to the Silver Moon Elf Race, it wasn’t exactly a secret.
After all, most of the techniques could only be performed by the Silver Moon Elf Race.
To put it simply, these methods of spatial displacement and planar travel were tailor-made for Silver Moon Elves. They were of little use to other civilized races.
Of course, a Wizard could still learn from them.
Similarly, Pei Ze wanted this knowledge with the intention of using his Eye of Omniscience to modify it into a planar travel method suitable for himself.
Although corresponding knowledge could be purchased in Chenxi City, it would cost an enormous amount of money. He had too many expenses right now, so following the principle of saving wherever he could, Pei Ze decided it was better to just modify it himself.
Having obtained what he wanted, Pei Ze’s mood improved considerably. He helped Julis pull the Spider Shadow Dagger from her body and, without any courtesy, stored it in his Space Ring.
The Spider Shadow Dagger was similar to the sacred relics of the Turin Plane in that it could not be used by anyone outside the Dark Elf Race. However, it still had some research value, and at the very least, it could be sold for money. Pei Ze naturally wouldn’t let it go to waste.
After freeing Julis, Pei Ze didn’t linger. He packed up his things and headed deeper into the area, preparing to continue hunting Elemental Spirits.
"Lord, please wait," Julis called out, catching up to him. She looked at Pei Ze with a pitiful gaze. "I’m injured right now and have lost most of my combat strength. I can’t even handle a single Elemental Spirit. Could you let me stay by your side for a while?"
"Don’t worry, as soon as I recover my strength and can travel between planes, I’ll leave immediately."
Pei Ze glanced at her and refused decisively.
"No. You’d be a hassle."
"..."
The reason was unassailable. For a moment, Julis was speechless. She racked her brains until inspiration finally struck.
"Lord, I have three Starry Sky Stones. They’re a primary material for building planar passages. How about you consider them as my payment?"
’Starry Sky Stones?’
Pei Ze’s interest was piqued.
He knew of this material. It was a common primary ingredient used when opening planar passages and was quite valuable.
Even if he improved his planar travel technique in the future, it was more than likely that he would still need Starry Sky Stones.
At this thought, Pei Ze made his decision. He glanced at Julis and gave a slight nod.
"Deal!"
