Chapter 307: Chapter 182: The Dragon Egg’s Natural Texture, Wuyu’s Advancement

Over a hundred kilometers from Awo Castle.

The place where Pei Ze had killed the three Pei Family Wizards.

Two figures in gray cloaks abruptly appeared in the sky, frowning as they surveyed the area.

The taller of the two figures said in a low voice, "This is it. This is where Yuri’s spiritual imprint last dissipated."

"I can sense the lingering fluctuations of Shadow Energy here, as well as the aura of our family’s Yugro Giant Serpent bloodline."

The other person’s eyes narrowed, his expression turning grim.

"It seems Yuri and the others have met with disaster. This is trouble."

Both of them fell silent, their brows furrowed.

Yuri’s group carried no clues that could reveal the family’s hiding place, and they were confident the three would never betray that information. Still, their deaths alone could lead to deductions unfavorable to the family, potentially causing unnecessary trouble.

After a moment, the taller cloaked figure spoke, breaking the silence.

"Can you find the one who killed Yuri?"

Pei Xingxu replied in a deep voice, "I’ll try."

As he spoke, he flipped his wrist, and a Crystal Ball instantly appeared in his palm.

As his hand pressed against the Crystal Ball’s surface, a shimmering light emerged.

After two or three minutes, Pei Xingxu pulled his hand back and shook his head at Pei Shijie.

"It’s no use. The prophecy spell isn’t working. The target’s Spiritual Power is no weaker than mine."

Hearing this, Pei Shijie’s face darkened. He said coldly, "A Level 3 Wizard, then."

For Pei Xingxu’s Prophetic Technique to fail, the target had to be either a being at level four or higher, or a Level 3 Wizard like himself.

And judging by the chaotic spiritual fluctuations left at the scene, the latter was undoubtedly more likely.

"It’s highly likely they were targeting us."

"Almost certainly. Otherwise, there would be no need to take the bodies after killing them."

Only a Wizard looking to claim the bounty from Chenxi City’s wanted notice would take the bodies as proof of the kill.

"What’s our next move?" Pei Xingxu looked at Pei Shijie.

The latter’s gaze flickered for a moment before he said gravely, "First, we report this to the family and let the elders decide."

"Our mission is to capture the Netherworld Crow Swarm. We’ll deal with that first before anything else."

Pei Xingxu could only nod, his expression ugly as he said, "Damn that Dawn Council! We’ve fled all the way to the Shadow Realm, and they still won’t let us be!"

Pei Shijie shook his head slightly. "It’s useless to talk about that now. What we can do is research a method to perfectly fuse with foul entities as soon as possible. Once we succeed, it’s only a matter of time before we can counterattack Chenxi City and take our revenge on the Dawn Council!"

"You’re right." Pei Xingxu’s expression relaxed slightly, replaced by a flicker of excitement. "The experiment has reached a critical stage. As long as we can find a way to improve the fusion between the Power of Shadow and the aggregate of malice, our research will advance by leaps and bounds."

A smile appeared on Pei Shijie’s face as well. "The Power of Death and the Power of Shadow are quite similar in nature, and they’re among the purest forms of negative energy. Their compatibility with the aggregate of malice is extremely high. With the Power of Death acting as a medium to neutralize the two, the rejection should be greatly reduced. We might be able to create a brand-new bloodline very soon."

At the mention of this, both of them grew very excited.

Over the past century, the Pei Family had spent countless hours and immense effort, taking enormous risks to bring the experiment to this point.

They were on the cusp of success. With just one final step to complete the experiment, the family could create a new bloodline. This would free them from the shackles of the Yugro Giant Serpent bloodline, allowing them to break through to a higher realm.

"Let’s go. We need to capture that Netherworld Crow Swarm quickly, before complications arise," Pei Shijie said grimly.

The two of them delayed no longer, turning and heading for the valley they had scouted earlier.

...

「Deep within the valley.」

Inside a hastily-excavated cave.

Su Ya and Peng Yan sat near the mouth of the cave, their attention fixed on the outside as they stood guard. They would occasionally glance back inside.

A very faint halo of light enveloped them both. They constantly maintained a layer of Elemental Power to resist the encroaching aura of death.

Fortunately, both had already broken through to the Tier Three Legendary Realm and awakened their Dual Elements Power early on. Their abundant energy was the only reason they could maintain this state for three consecutive days.

An ordinary Tier Three Legendary Knight would have collapsed long ago.

Deep inside the cave, Pei Ze sat cross-legged on the ground, staring at the data floating in the empty space before him.

[Spirit 212.07]

[Constitution 181.67]

In the few days since entering the Shadow Realm, Pei Ze had diligently kept up with his daily Meditation, as always.

However, his Spiritual Power growth was still somewhat slow. He was a long way from the 384 energy level required to meet the crystalization standard.

At this rate, he estimated it would take him nearly two more years to break through to the Level 2 Crystalization Stage.

To be honest, this rate of advancement was already absurdly fast compared to an ordinary Second-level Wizard—faster than a speeding rocket—but Pei Ze was still not satisfied.

’I still need to find a way to collect some rare items that can increase Spiritual Power.’

Pei Ze then looked at his Constitution attribute.

The All-Knowing Breathing Technique had twelve layers in total. Starting from the seventh layer, each breakthrough would result in advancing one full rank in realm.

In other words, as long as he broke through to the eighth layer, he could advance to become a Tier Five Legendary Knight.

According to Pei Ze’s calculations, his Constitution needed to reach at least 250 points before he could break through to the eighth layer of the All-Knowing Breathing Technique.

He wasn’t in a hurry for that, though.

He was confident he could cultivate the All-Knowing Breathing Technique to the eighth layer before he broke through to the Level 2 Crystalization Stage.
