Chapter 306: Chapter 181: Sugla Giant Eagle Demoness, Devouring the Netherworld Crow Swarm

Pei Ze, however, knew perfectly well that this was no vicious and cruel Harpy, but a Magical Creature known as a Sugla Giant Eagle Demoness.

The proof was that her wings were not the common brown or mottled colors of Harpies, but were instead as white as snow.

Like Harpies, the Sugla Giant Eagle Demoness had the bloodline of an ancient harpy flowing through her veins.

It was just that after tens of thousands of years of evolution, the bloodline within Harpies had gradually thinned, turning them into unintelligent, bloodthirsty, and cruel monsters.

The bloodline of the Sugla Giant Eagle Demoness, however, was relatively well-preserved, granting them higher intelligence than Harpies and a more powerful talent for Illusion Techniques.

An adult Sugla Giant Eagle Demoness was powerful enough to contend with a Second-level Wizard without being at a disadvantage.

A flash of joy lit up Pei Ze’s eyes. ’Casting that Magic nearly sixty times wasn’t a waste after all.’ His luck had finally surged, and he had outdone himself by summoning a Sugla Giant Eagle Demoness—an Otherworldly Creature comparable to a Second-level Wizard and a Tier Six Legendary Knight.

Normally, he could only summon Otherworldly Creatures at the Tier Five Legendary Level.

However, her Tier Two-equivalent power was secondary. The key was the Sugla Giant Eagle Demoness’s skill with Illusion Techniques, which would be a great help in capturing the Netherworld Crow Swarm.

Pei Ze quickly made his decision. Smiling at the Sugla Giant Eagle Demoness, he asked, "What is your name?"

"My name is Grace, esteemed Wizard." The Sugla Giant Eagle Demoness gave Pei Ze a slight bow.

Pei Ze nodded slightly. "I’m about to capture a swarm of Netherworld Crows. I need you to cast an Illusion Technique to prevent them from escaping the valley. Can you do that?"

"It would be my honor to serve you." A smile bloomed on Grace’s delicate face, giving her a somewhat bewitching look.

Without any delay, Pei Ze prepared to act.

The group returned to the clifftop overlooking the valley. Concealed by an Invisibility Spell Ball, the Netherworld Crow Swarm below was completely unaware of the uninvited guests’ arrival.

Pei Ze took a deep breath, then his voice rang out, low and deep.

"Go."

The instant he spoke, a wisp of black mist shot out from his wrist. It swelled in the mid-air wind, rapidly expanding into a massive cloud that hovered over the valley.

For a moment, the entire sky seemed to have been stained a deep, ominous black.

The next instant, a dense, innumerable flock of Fog Crows burst forth. They rained down from the sky like a torrential downpour, scrambling to attack the Netherworld Crows on the valley floor.

The Netherworld Crow Swarm was completely caught off guard. Before they could react, hundreds of Netherworld Crows were surrounded and swamped by Fog Crows outnumbering them more than ten to one.

The moment a Fog Crow collided with a Netherworld Crow, it disintegrated into a thick black mist, completely enveloping its target.

Individually, the Fog Crows were weaker than their counterparts, but the black mist formed by a dozen or so of them merging together acted like a cage, trapping the Netherworld Crow completely.

The black mist then floated high into the air and was reabsorbed into Wuyu. A few seconds later, another dozen Fog Crows flew out, diving downward once more.

In the very first exchange, the Netherworld Crow Swarm lost over a hundred of its own.

Only then did the Netherworld Crow Swarm finally react. A harsh, piercing shriek echoed from the depths of the valley.

The swarm’s leader, a massive Netherworld Crow, issued the command to attack.

In an instant, the previously still Netherworld Crows flapped their wings and shot into the sky, fearlessly charging head-on at the Fog Crows.

A fierce wind whipped through the valley, and the gray mist billowed and churned violently like a gathering storm.

Despite their numerical advantage, the Fog Crows’ individual weakness put them at a disadvantage. Facing the Netherworld Crows’ counterattack, they were steadily forced to retreat.

For every single Netherworld Crow the Fog Crows managed to capture, dozens of their own were annihilated by the corrosive Power of Death.

Less than a minute into the battle, over a thousand Fog Crows had already been destroyed.

Meanwhile, Wuyu had only managed to devour around three hundred Netherworld Crows.

Nearly half of those were captured in the initial surprise attack.

Fortunately, this was when Pei Ze finally made his move.

With a crackling hiss, countless metal spikes wreathed in lightning tore through the air, piercing the bodies of one Netherworld Crow after another.

The impaled Netherworld Crows didn’t die, but the lightning paralyzed them, completely neutralizing their ability to fight. As they fell, they were swarmed by Fog Crows and delivered into Wuyu.

With Pei Ze’s relentless assault, the Fog Crows’ retreat was quickly halted. Now, it was the Netherworld Crows’ turn to suffer.

The number of devoured Netherworld Crows quickly soared to nearly five hundred, and the once-dense swarm had been reduced by more than a third.

The leader of the Netherworld Crow Swarm could no longer stand by.

A sudden shriek pierced the air as a ghostly gray light shot out from behind Pei Ze, aimed directly at the back of his head.

The Netherworld Crow leader clearly knew who was pulling the strings, and it went straight for Pei Ze.

Pei Ze, however, was prepared. A mass of liquid metal materialized out of thin air, rapidly forming a shield that perfectly blocked the leader’s attack.

Before the Netherworld Crow leader could strike again, the metal shield abruptly melted like wax. It instantly reformed into a sharp spike, which was then wreathed in crackling layers of lightning before shooting forward.

HISS!

At such close range, the Netherworld Crow leader had no time to dodge. The spike pierced it straight through, and then the lightning erupted, engulfing it in a tidal wave of electricity!

When the lightning dissipated, the Netherworld Crow leader was smoldering, almost charred to a crisp. Its body began to plummet uncontrollably.

A dozen Fog Crows flew over, turning into a black mist that enveloped it and carried it toward Wuyu.

With their leader captured, the swarm fell into disarray.

The Netherworld Crows charged toward Wuyu, trying to rescue their leader, but their efforts were futile against the combined assault of the Fog Crows and Pei Ze. Their attempts only resulted in more of their kind being captured.

When only three or four hundred Netherworld Crows remained, the swarm finally broke, screeching as they fled toward the valley exit.

"Ah... ah... ah..."

Just then, a soft, feminine humming began to echo through the air.

It was not a song with words, but a soothing, captivating hum, like the memory of a mother’s gentle murmuring from infancy.

In an instant, the frantically fleeing Netherworld Crows slowed. Some even began to hover and circle in place, as if completely dazed.

Some of the Netherworld Crows still hadn’t broken free from the Illusion Technique by the time the Fog Crows closed in, turning to black mist and trapping them.

Only a few Netherworld Crows at the Tier Four Legendary Level could barely resist the song’s influence. But Pei Ze immediately gave chase, using his silver star to attack them one by one, neutralizing them.

A little over ten minutes later, the last Netherworld Crow was enveloped in black mist and delivered into Wuyu, bringing the operation to a close.

Having devoured over 1,400 Netherworld Crows, Wuyu immediately fell into a deep slumber after the battle, beginning to digest the vast energy within it.

Pei Ze stroked Wuyu’s cool feathers and looked toward Grace as she approached. He gave a slight nod. "Good work."

"Of course. I have already received my payment, after all." Grace replied with a faint smile.

Otherworldly Creatures brought forth by the Monster Summoning Technique receive corresponding Spiritual Power and a measure of Law Power from the void as payment, in accordance with their contract with the summoner. This is the primary reason they willingly submit to a summoner’s command.

"Contact me again if you have need of my services."

Grace left behind an aura imprint, then vanished, returning to her home plane.

’Contacting her again,’ of course, meant meeting through the Eye of the World.

Pei Ze smiled and stored the aura imprint away.

The only thing about Grace that interested him was her ancient bloodline.

’If she’s willing to part with a sufficient amount of her blood, a deal wouldn’t be out of the question.’

"Sir, what should we do now?" Su Ya walked over, her gaze falling on the Wuyu in Pei Ze’s hand.

Pei Ze considered for a moment, glanced around, and said calmly, "This environment is beneficial for Wuyu’s digestion of the energy. We’ll wait here for now and leave when it wakes up."
