Chapter 284: Chapter 170: The Soul’s Transit Point, the Dangerous Spirit Realm

"In the matter of the Pei Family, you’ve made a significant contribution," Mo Weng said with a smile. "The Council will certainly reward you well. What is it that you want?"

Pei Ze’s eyes lit up, and he answered without a moment’s hesitation, "Faith Crystals and Purified Soul Crystal Stones!"

Before he could advance to a Level 3 Wizard, he would need a large quantity of Faith Crystals and Purified Soul Crystal Stones.

However, now that he had left the Plane Battlefield, acquiring these two items would not be easy.

Of course, he could substitute them with other resources, but the effects would be nowhere near as good as Faith Crystals and Purified Soul Crystal Stones, and the pace of his power progression would inevitably suffer.

Mo Weng wasn’t surprised by Pei Ze’s answer. He smiled. "Very well. I will convey your request to the Council."

After a pause, Mo Weng asked, "I heard you sold a large quantity of Resonance Potions in Red Maple City?"

"That’s right," Pei Ze confirmed with a nod.

Mo Weng gave a slight nod. Without another word, he tossed Pei Ze a Memory Crystal Ball.

"You should now be capable of concocting Tier Three Potions on your own. This contains one hundred and thirty-eight recipes for them. You can pick a few to practice with."

Pei Ze was overjoyed.

After becoming a Second-level Wizard, he indeed had the ability to concoct Tier Three Potions. His teacher’s gift of these recipes couldn’t have come at a better time.

"Thank you, Teacher."

Mo Weng waved his hand dismissively. A flicker of deep emotion crossed his face as he said earnestly, "Of all the younger generation I’ve encountered, your talent for potion-making is the greatest. Given time, you’ll surely surpass me. While advancing your power is important, you must not neglect your studies in potions. You have to keep pushing forward."

It was clear from his words that he had placed immense hope in Pei Ze.

Pei Ze’s expression turned solemn, and he nodded firmly. "I will, Teacher."

Mo Weng smiled in satisfaction and changed the subject.

"What are your plans now that you’re back?"

"Teacher, do you know where I can find any Thunder Abyss Giants or Netherworld Crows?"

Mo Weng raised an eyebrow. Without asking why Pei Ze was searching for them, he thought for a moment and said, "Thunder Abyss Giants generally live in the outer planes. That branch of the Giant Race is notoriously reclusive, rarely interacting with other species, so their movements are unpredictable. However, I do know a few people who’ve seen them before. I’ll ask around for you."

"As for Netherworld Crows, there are plenty of those Magical Creatures in the Spirit Realm. However, that’s not a place you should be going to right now."

Generally, any world that harbors life will have a corresponding Spirit Realm, which serves as a waypoint for souls.

After a creature dies, its soul lingers in the Spirit Realm until it is guided to the Divine Kingdom by the Death God, or it slowly dissipates over time.

As a result, the Spirit Realm is teeming with wandering souls, ghosts, and Resentful Spirits. Over countless years, incredibly powerful Spiritual Creatures have also emerged, a few of which possess power comparable to that of Elemental Mages or Bloodline Wizards.

When a living person enters the Spirit Realm, their potent life force easily attracts the covetous attention of countless Spirit Bodies, which can even lead to a full-blown siege.

Many Wizards who ventured into the Spirit Realm have died, succumbing to the relentless assault of Spirit Bodies after having their power drained completely.

Over time, an unwritten rule was established in the Wizard World: Wizards below Level 4 should not attempt to enter the Spirit Realm.

Pei Ze frowned, asking unwillingly, "Are there any other places besides the Spirit Realm?"

Mo Weng shook his head. "Netherworld Crows are much like Thunder Abyss Giants; they mostly exist in the outer planes. In the material plane, they might only appear on battlefields where tens of thousands have perished, or in towns annihilated by plague. Only after hundreds of years of transformation could such a place give birth to a Netherworld Crow. However, these locations are usually occupied by the powerful. Even if you found one, it would likely already belong to someone."

Pei Ze’s face fell with disappointment.

’It seems my plan to quickly find a large number of Netherworld Crows is unfeasible,’ he thought. ’I’ll just have to gather them slowly over time.’

’At least there’s still hope for the Thunder Abyss Giants.’

After a few more words with Mo Weng, Pei Ze took his leave.

After leaving High Tower Academy, he hailed a carriage and headed straight for the Ring of Truth.

Seeing the familiar mansion again, Pei Ze felt a surge of emotion.

He focused his senses and felt that, as before, only the auras of the Wood Elf, the Water Sprites, and the Withered Leaf Elf were present in the mansion.

Before leaving the mansion, Pei Ze had delegated partial control over the Guardian Array to Nymph, the Water Sprite.

Water Sprites are born with an innate ability to cast Magic, so operating the Guardian Array wasn’t difficult for her.

The moment Pei Ze set foot in the mansion, Nymph sensed his presence and came rushing out.

’Besides the servants, the only one who could enter the mansion without triggering the Guardian Array was the master himself.’

Sure enough, as soon as Nymph reached the front courtyard, she came face to face with Pei Ze. A look of delighted surprise spread across her delicate features.

"Master, you’re back!"

"Yes, I’m back." Pei Ze nodded with a smile, his gaze sweeping over the grounds. "It looks like you’ve taken excellent care of the mansion while I was away. Well done."

Upon receiving her master’s praise, Nymph broke into a shy, happy smile.

Pei Ze continued walking inside, asking casually, "Did anything happen while I was away?"

Nymph, hurrying to keep pace, nodded. "Yes, Master. About two or three months after you left, a Wizard came to visit. He said he had something to discuss with you."

"Which Wizard?"

"I don’t know him. He said his name was Tao Ping."

’Tao Ping?’

Pei Ze paused for a moment; the name sounded familiar.

After thinking for a few seconds, he suddenly recalled. Wasn’t that one of the Wizards who had come bearing gifts right after he had first become a Wizard?
