Chapter 262: Chapter 158: The Silver Frost Disaster Wolf Appears, the Divine Body Golem Debuts

When the dust settled, everyone stared in astonishment. The golem that had fallen was none other than the Vajra Golem, the only one of its kind in the Golem Legion!

The once majestic Vajra Golem was now riddled with dents and craters.

Its hard, diamond-forged body was covered in a shocking number of deep claw marks, all coated in a thick layer of frost.

Some sections had even been torn open, revealing gaping holes through which the intricate Magic Crystal structures within were faintly visible.

"What happened?" a Wizard whispered.

The Vajra Golem was a powerful weapon of war, with combat capabilities rivaling a Level 3 Wizard. Who could have possibly reduced it to such a sorry state?

’Could a Level 4 Wizard have done this?’

No one answered him. The others were just as shocked and uncertain.

However, their confusion didn’t last long. An extreme chill abruptly descended, blanketing the entire flank of the battlefield.

The Wizards looked up to see a giant wolf hovering high in the sky.

The massive wolf was pure white, its sleek, flowing fur like a coat of silver frost over a long, powerful body. Standing on all fours, it was five meters tall, with an estimated body length of over ten meters.

A faint, visible mist of cold air swirled around it, like a block of ancient, unmeltable ice, radiating a chill that pierced to the bone.

The mere sight of it was enough to send an involuntary shiver down one’s spine.

"The... the Silver Frost Disaster Wolf!"

As everyone wondered about the giant wolf’s origin, a shocked cry, its pitch distorted by fear, suddenly rang out.

Stunned, they all turned toward the voice. They saw that the speaker was a Wizard with the appearance of a Werewolf, his frost-white fur bearing a slight resemblance to the giant wolf high above.

"It’s a Wizard from the Meng Family!"

"Then that means it really is the Silver Frost Disaster Wolf!"

At once, the color drained from the Wizards’ faces.

According to legend, the Silver Frost Disaster Wolf was a powerful ancient creature capable of rivaling a Rule Wizard. An entity of that level could crush every Wizard present with a single finger.

’How are we supposed to fight this?!’

Gu Lin’s face was also deathly pale. Clinging to a sliver of hope, she asked the bat on her shoulder, "Annie, is that really the Silver Frost Disaster Wolf?"

However, Annie’s reply shattered her last illusion.

"It is indeed a Silver Frost Disaster Wolf."

Just as Gu Lin’s expression filled with horror, Annie’s tone shifted.

"But it’s only a juvenile, probably born less than a century ago."

Hope flared in Gu Lin’s eyes. "Does that mean we have a chance to defeat it?" she asked quickly.

Annie seemed to chuckle. "Don’t get your hopes up," she said faintly. "Even a juvenile Silver Frost Disaster Wolf has the combat strength of a Sixth-level Wizard. You people wouldn’t be able to harm a single hair on its body."

"...Then what was the point of saying that?" Gu Lin’s face fell.

Annie spoke unhurriedly. "Relax. It’s not your turn to deal with this thing."

Gu Lin froze. Just as she was about to ask for more details, a strange sound suddenly reached her ears.

It was a muddled, esoteric incantation.

The source of the sound was impossible to pinpoint, seeming to come from all directions at once as it echoed over the battlefield.

The air temperature plummeted in an instant as a colossal, peerless figure abruptly materialized above the battlefield.

At first, it was merely a phantom, but within seconds it had solidified into a physical entity.

In silhouette, it looked like a Titan. Even the tallest Vajra Golem would only reach its knee.

But a closer look revealed it to be a hideous monster.

Its head was small, but its mouth was enormous. Its arms were of different lengths, its legs of uneven thickness, and its torso was disproportionately long for its short lower body. Even its skin was a patchwork of mismatched, mottled colors. It looked like a Frankenstein’s Monster, or perhaps a crudely made flesh golem, barely pieced together from various corpse parts.

And the truth was not far off.

This was, indeed, a golem made from corpses.

Only, it wasn’t made from the corpses of humans or beasts, but from the body of a dead god!

Though none had ever seen it before, the moment the golem appeared, a sudden understanding dawned on every Wizard present.

This was Chenxi City’s pride, its ultimate weapon of war: the Divine Body Golem! It was said to possess an indestructible body, immune to all Magic below the seventh circle and equivalent spell-like abilities, and capable of wielding a portion of Divine Power!

The moment it finished materializing, the Divine Body Golem lunged forward. It threw a punch that slammed squarely into the Silver Frost Disaster Wolf, the tremendous force knocking the creature out of the sky. With a BOOM, it crashed into the ground, gouging out a massive crater.

"AWOOOO!"

The Silver Frost Disaster Wolf merely shook its head, then scrambled to its feet. With an enraged howl, it lunged viciously at the Divine Body Golem in the air, its razor-sharp claws and fangs radiating an extreme chill as they descended in a mad flurry.

In the blink of an eye, the two were locked in a ferocious struggle high in the sky.

The Divine Body Golem was not slow, moving with none of the clumsiness of a typical golem. Still, it was far outmatched by the agile Silver Frost Disaster Wolf and was hit with ease again and again.

Fortunately, its hide was thick and its self-healing ability was astonishing. Even when the Silver Frost Disaster Wolf’s attacks found their mark, the wounds would heal completely within seconds.

For a time, they were evenly matched.

But this was a nightmare for the people nearby.

The slightest aftershock from their battle was a terrible catastrophe for everyone else.

A Fourth-Class Priest, who was relatively close, was hit by a shockwave from one of the Divine Body Golem’s punches. Even from over a thousand meters away, his body instantly exploded into a mist of blood.

Another Second-level Wizard, a fraction too slow to dodge, was caught by a passing current of frigid air and frozen solid, his body forever encased in ice.

After dozens of Wizards and Priests had been killed or injured, the rest snapped out of their stupor. Their faces contorted in terror, they scrambled back, not stopping until they were a full four or five kilometers away, still trembling with fear.

Pei Ze had also retreated a great distance.

Even he couldn’t withstand the aftershocks of the battle between the Divine Body Golem and the Silver Frost Disaster Wolf.

’So this is the power of the Sixth Level...’

Pei Ze stared at the distant battle, his gaze profound, a fervent gleam flashing in his eyes.

’When will I be able to reach that level?’

SHINK!

Seeing Pei Ze was distracted, a Winter Frost Priest seized the opportunity to attack from behind. But the moment he drew near, a silver spike erupted from Pei Ze’s back and pierced his chest. A subsequent blast of lightning incinerated him, turning him to charcoal.

Without a single glance at the corpse, Pei Ze collected himself and resumed slaughtering his enemies.

The battle, which had paused, erupted once more. However, both friend and foe couldn’t help but spare a fraction of their attention for the clash between the Divine Body Golem and the Silver Frost Disaster Wolf.

Even the handful of Level 3 Wizards and High Priests were no exception.

Everyone understood that the battle between the Divine Body Golem and the Silver Frost Disaster Wolf would decide the outcome on this flank of the battlefield.

BOOM! BOOM!

Thunderous booms echoed across the sky above the battlefield.

The entire sky was consumed by an icy blizzard. Howling gales swept through, and frost filled the air, like a natural disaster.

This was the origin of the Silver Frost Disaster Wolf’s name.

The blizzards it controlled were as powerful as natural disasters, easily capable of annihilating an entire city.

The Divine Body Golem’s massive form swayed precariously in the blizzard, struggling to take even a single step.

Seeing the Divine Body Golem losing ground, the Turin People’s faces lit up with joy.

The Wizards’ expressions, however, grew grim.

"It looks like the Divine Body Golem is no match for it," Gu Lin said, her voice laced with worry.

"Relax," Annie replied, as calm and composed as ever. "The Divine Body Golem hasn’t even begun to use its true power."

"What do you mean?"

The question came from Pei Ze. He had appeared at Gu Lin’s side at some point, casually dispatching a Winter Frost Priest who had been hounding her.

Annie glanced at him, but didn’t leave them in suspense. "Don’t forget," she said languidly, "the Divine Body Golem was made from the corpse of a dead god. It inherited some of that god’s power."

The words had barely left her mouth when she seemed to sense something, her head tilting up toward the sky.

"It’s starting."

Pei Ze and Gu Lin instinctively looked up.

At the same time, that familiar, esoteric incantation once again echoed across the battlefield.
