Chapter 261: Chapter 158: The Silver Frost Disaster Wolf Appears, the Divine Body Golem Takes the Stage
"ROAR!"
Deep, thunderous beastly roars rose and fell, one after another.
A Winter Frost Giant Beast abruptly opened its cavernous maw and spewed a visible current of white frost. It instantly froze a Wizard and their followers who couldn’t dodge in time, turning them into an ice sculpture. Then, with a heavy swipe of its claw—CRACK!—the sculpture, along with the people inside, shattered into a spray of icy shards across the ground.
Similar scenes were playing out all over the battlefield.
Facing hundreds of Winter Frost Giant Beasts, the Wizards were quickly thrown into a desperate struggle.
Gu Lin cautiously dodged the attacks of a Winter Frost Giant Beast, stealing a glance toward Pei Ze whenever she could.
Perhaps because his previous performance had been too eye-catching, Pei Ze suddenly found himself surrounded by more than a dozen Winter Frost Giant Beasts.
The enormous beasts practically filled the several-hundred-meter radius around him, leaving him no room to evade.
The next moment, the Winter Frost Giant Beasts opened their mouths in unison, and a torrential frost current instantly engulfed the spot where Pei Ze stood.
Watching this, Gu Lin couldn’t help but let out a soft gasp, her face etched with deep worry.
"Focus on the battle!"
Annie’s calm voice sounded beside her ear.
"An attack of this level won’t hurt Pei Ze."
As if to prove her words, a hundred bolts of lightning suddenly burst through the frost current, sweeping over one of the Winter Frost Giant Beasts like a torrent.
The beast didn’t even have time to scream before it was annihilated and vaporized by the lightning.
The lightning paused for a moment, revealing a silver spike at its core, then accelerated again, turning to strike another Winter Frost Giant Beast.
At the same time, Pei Ze emerged from the frost current. Dazzling silver light shone from his body, wreathed in crackling lightning. He looked completely unharmed; in fact, he appeared even more majestic and powerful.
He raised his palm, and a gloomy gray ray shot out, striking a nearby Winter Frost Giant Beast with the precision of an arrow.
Debilitation Ray!
It was a higher-tier Magic than Weakness Beam, capable of plunging its target into a weakened state upon impact.
Instantly, the Winter Frost Giant Beast froze, its translucent, crystalline body seeming to dim several shades in a moment.
Before it could recover, the roiling tempest of lightning had already blasted it to smithereens!
Pei Ze’s expression was indifferent as he turned his attention to the other Winter Frost Giant Beasts.
Slow Technique!
Sleep Technique!
Serpentine Seal!
One after another, modified Engraving Spells were cast from Pei Ze’s hands.
Bathed in the glow of various types of Magic, the Winter Frost Giant Beasts were either frozen in place, unable to move, or their actions suddenly slowed to a crawl. They were then immediately annihilated by the searing lightning.
In just a short while, more than half of the dozen-plus Winter Frost Giant Beasts that had besieged Pei Ze were slain. Only three or four remained, now fleeing for their lives as Pei Ze hunted them down.
Even in the midst of the intense battle, the surrounding Wizards couldn’t help but stare, dumbfounded.
"This guy..."
Gu Lin was secretly amazed, then shook her head.
’I was worried about him for nothing.’
Shaking off her stray thoughts, Gu Lin stopped dwelling on it and focused on the enemy before her.
With Gem Magic at her disposal, she couldn’t kill the Winter Frost Giant Beasts, but protecting herself was more than manageable.
Just then, the sound of flapping wings came from the rear, as if a large number of flying creatures were approaching.
Gu Lin looked back to see tens of thousands of creatures flying in from the direction of Red Maple City.
At first glance, these creatures looked like winged stone statues. They had ferocious faces, stood nearly two meters tall, and their demonic wings spanned seven to eight meters when spread. A cold, sinister aura emanated from their bodies.
"Gargoyles!"
Gu Lin was slightly taken aback.
Gargoyles were a rare type of puppet whose combat capabilities could rival those of a golem, making them far more powerful than the likes of Stone Puppets or Iron Puppets.
They possessed immense strength, were fearlessly aggressive, and had an astonishing self-healing ability. Outside of combat, they could simply turn into stationary stone statues to rapidly recover from their injuries.
The combat prowess of a single Gargoyle was no less than that of an experienced Tier One Legendary Knight.
Upon reaching the battlefield, the Gargoyles swarmed toward the Winter Frost Giant Beasts like a plague.
In terms of individual combat strength, a Gargoyle was far inferior to a Winter Frost Giant Beast, but they had the advantage in numbers, were tough-skinned, and fought without fear of death.
A Winter Frost Giant Beast could shatter several Gargoyles with a single swipe, or spew a frost current to freeze a dozen more into ice sculptures that crumbled upon hitting the ground, but this still didn’t intimidate them.
More Gargoyles surged forward, scrambling to attack. Their sharp claws raked across the bodies of the Winter Frost Giant Beasts, leaving deep gashes.
Under the Gargoyles’ relentless, suicidal assaults, a Winter Frost Giant Beast was soon torn to pieces.
Then a second, and a third...
As the casualties among the Winter Frost Giant Beasts mounted, the pressure on the Wizards eased considerably. The situation, which the Turin People had just managed to turn around, was gradually starting to tip back in their opponents’ favor.
SHHNK! SHHNK! SHHNK!
After using the silver spike to finish off another Winter Frost Giant Beast, Pei Ze scanned his surroundings. He saw that more than half of the once-dense horde of beasts were gone, with only a sparse dozen or so remaining.
However, the Gargoyles had also suffered heavy losses, with fewer than a thousand left.
Pei Ze turned to look toward the main battlefield. The battle cries from that direction were still deafening, and the intensity of the fighting showed no signs of diminishing.
High in the sky, a dazzling seven-colored radiance filled almost the entire firmament, so blinding that it was impossible to see what was happening within. Only the occasional thunderous sonic boom could be heard.
The battle between the Wizard Tower and the War Fortress also continued to rage fiercely.
Just then, Pei Ze suddenly saw a dark shadow falling from the sky.
The shadow grew larger and larger.
BOOM!
A Winter Frost Giant Beast failed to dodge in time and was struck squarely by the shadow. Its hard, massive body was instantly pulverized. Shards of ice shot out like bullets, riddling a dozen nearby Gargoyles full of holes.
