After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World
Chapter 2170: Against a Beast
At some point, Althea noticed that her husband’s eyes had started to sparkle, obviously excited with finding a good sparring partner.
At his level of skill, only the Golds or those at that level of skill could pose a challenge to him. The Golds had also consumed a lot of aether crystals for them to grow so strong, so fighting with Virion—who had consumed minimal crystals—probably had a different sort of excitement.
The Golds also weren’t as harsh and ruthless as Virion was. With Virion, he could let go of all bloodthirstiness, allowing him to be as brutal as possible.
It seemed to be the same for his opponent.
"I’ve never seen my brother enjoy a fight as much as now," the Lord said as he stood next to her.
His tone gave the impression of an adult referring to his troublesome and rebellious kid finding another kid to befriend, which amused Althea very much.
BANG!
SMACK!
The two tacitly chose to jump over the wall and take their fight outside, wherein they also caused a number of collateral damage, including a level 40 beast!!
Beasts around level 40 were not that commonplace even in cities, but they could basically only be found in Cities. Today, a number of them had the fortune of being near the walls.
Whether they were lucky or not, at some point during the spar, the bloody fight attracted several beast mobs, one of which was led by a level 40 beast.
...
This dead level 40 beast (among others) was then dragged inside the walls to supplement the celebratory feast being held in the villa.
"MY GOOD BROTHER! HAVE THIS DRINK! I’ve been saving it up! Having a great sparring partner is so refreshing! Pah!" he said, taking a big gulp of his beer.
Speaking of which, Warrior City makes surprisingly good beer.
Apparently, some ’herbivore’ orcs had the talent for making fermented drinks. She tried to recall the orcs whose status she peered into back on the other side. She tried to recall if there was someone with similar skills.
Basically, the skill had to do with hastening the ripening and/or fermentation of a plant. The herbivore was experimenting and found the taste of fermented fruit rather fascinating.
Warrior City was ultimately a City and it was a hodgepodge of experts. Though it was ignored and counted as useless for the first few decades of the orc’s life, eventually, this talent was discovered, and the orc was hired to create batch after batch of drinks.
That said, it was a bit capitalist with the orc just getting a fixed salary for the work done, but to each their own. They might just mention it to Valhalla later, giving the orc a bit more benefits for a good job done.
Add employee benefits, so to speak.
"How is your trip?" The Lord asked, causing many people to turn to them. "I haven’t even gotten close to the wall. Have you reached it?"
Althea nodded and smiled. However, she took note not to make things too interesting.
Althea looked at the other orcs. "It’s a very long story," she said. "I’d like to consolidate the information first before sending it out."
She needed time to determine what she could release to this side, aiming to protect the interest and safety of both sides.
"How about you? How is your health?" she asked, and Valhalla seemed to be waiting for this question. He brightened up, and his chest puffed up, as if a bit proud.
"Good, good! I can now do basic skills," he said. "Within the next couple of weeks, I should be able to do even more."
The effects of the medicine were already showing with the Lord, and he could do a few skills already. This was very good feedback.
Unexpectedly, somewhere midway, they got two new visitors joining in. It was Virion’s wives.
Wives.
Virion had two wives. One had been married to him even before Eagle found him, engaged since he was young, and another was a recent wife granted to him after he returned.
"We found that Virion had emerged from his seclusion and as his wives, we hope to see him," one of the women, the gentler-looking one, said at the side.
Other than their wedding night, it seemed like Virion barely touched any of the women, doing obligatory visits when he remembered or was reminded to do so.
In a sense, though he was forced into these marriages, he was still a bit of a scumbag.
Virion seemed to find women not particularly interesting, preferring to exercise through fighting than sex. He was always more interested in the hunt and the adventures.
If he had been dependent on aether crystals, his level would’ve definitely been higher. Though he was younger than Obi and his level was lower, his battle prowess was not that much different.
With his uniquely destructive element, it would actually be uncertain who would win in a serious battle.
There were not many peers that could excite Virion in a fight, which was why he was quite fond of Garan (and was even more fond of annoying him).
Other than battling peers, his daily habit was really to fight monsters, hoping to run into beasts level 30 and above.
Speaking of which, it was during a tiring fight with a level 35 monster where he was injured that his traitorous uncle managed to capture him (though not without taking dozens of his men down) with some tools and deposited him on an inferior territory.
If his brother didn’t have the advanced version of the Candle of Life tool— the upgraded tool that would show the target’s condition and situation during the moment of death — it was estimated Virion would have long been killed. Hence, he could only be kept alive in that dungeon in Basset Town, given just enough sustenance not to die.
"Ah, yes, welcome," Althea said with a smile, guiding the two wives and their respective entourages inside. As she did so, she couldn’t help but observe the two.
When she heard that they arrived at the same time, she thought they got along really well. Going to see their husband together? Was this the legendary harmonious harem?
However, when she actually saw them, she could sense that the tension was palpable. Their relationship was indeed harmonious on the surface, but who knows how it actually was underneath it.
Anyway, both of the women were really pretty. One was a gentle watery woman, while the other was fiery and intense—they were different kinds of gorgeous.
Tsk, tsk. Such beautiful women held back by a scumbag.
She should get Garan to beat Virion up more.
