Other than Garan’s fight, Althea’s was also reaching its end. Well, to be more specific, it was Althea’s plants.

Smack!

Slap!

The magical fight was happening within the villa walls.

When Virion and Valhalla peeked over the wall, their eyes were sparkling with curiosity. They had heard of Althea’s ability to control plants, which showed itself during the Valov War.

They heard it could ’absorb’ people even stronger than she was. The caveat was that it would overconsume her energy.

But...it seemed like this wasn’t the case this time? First of all, there was no absorption happening. Those two plants—No, three, if you count the lump of clay rolling underground and jumping up to hit enemies—were physically attacking their enemies. There was no sign of them even consuming them directly, let alone absorption by touch.

Another reason was that Althea herself looked very leisurely, almost like watching a show. There was no sign of fatigue at all.

That said, the whole sector of the city was already aware of the chaos here, and many had gathered to see what was going on. Several people asked those who were there, and they did get information.

By the time the ’gang war’ ended, everyone knew that there was a small group of people carrying dwarves who defeated Tanko’s group.

Tanko’s group had always been domineering in the City, and they depended on their strength to get a lot of things from others. Had there been no rules and had Valahalla been the sickly Lord that he was before, then they’d have acted even worse.

Seeing them defeated inexplicably spread out the news even more.

In fact, there had been some associated domineering gangs to Vairoz, Virion’s Uncle, before, and they had been either wiped out or turned to slaves. Tanko’s group was barely spared because they were hostile to Vairoz.

It was not because they differed in values. On the contrary, both groups were quite evil. They were hostile because the former royal had stolen several women from Tanko before.

After they were beaten up, the trespassers were then thrown out of the walls. Because fighting was not prohibited, no one was sent to prison, and the losers could only accept the loss of face this time.

Instead, people went forward and congratulated them. It was just after dawn now, but there were already so many people around the villa.

"Good job!"

"That was a satisfying fight!"

"You were so handsome!" a big, muscular man passionately told Garan, making the latter’s eyes twitch.

"Are you an ice elementalist? How rare!"

"I think I saw him use metal..."

"Dual elementalist! Oh my elves!"

"What happened inside the wall? Can you show us?"

Et cetera.

A City focused on fighting was indeed different from others.

Among the creatures that approached them were none other than their orc recruits from Quo Town. "You are quite famous!"

Althea smiled. "Have you adjusted well?"

"It’s alright," they said. "We still prefer to be outside the territories, but a few mobs with level 40s have attacked over the past few days, so we cannot do so."

The group headed inside for breakfast. Valhalla called a few chefs over to help out, knowing the couple was tired. Further, they were guests, so how could they make them cook for them?

The cooks arrived a quarter of an hour later, and they cooked the menu according to the instructions given to him.

While Althea directed the cooks about the meals, generously donating a few of the remaining bottles of sauce she had in her space, Virion blocked Garan’s way.

"You’ve gotten stronger."

Garan looked back at the man and nodded. "You are the same."

When Althea went out, she quickly found out that the two had left the territory for a short sparring session.

Spars for people above level 30 were assigned to Superior Sparring Rings, which were sparring rings here that were as big as a football field.

Their show of power was no joke and had the capability to damage system buildings. Case in point, didn’t it just happen? Most people would just take the fight outside, but there were also those like Tanko who didn’t care.

BANG!

The fight started the moment the referee—the Lord himself—announced it had begun. Massive ice spikes and sharp laser attacks were exchanged.

Fast spikes of ice, destroyed by a laser, but actually had metal inside. Similarly, strong lasers spread, two at a time, trying to trap the ice elementalist in the middle. Instead, he used his metallic ability to reflect the laser, but ultimately, Virion managed to avoid it.

It was a very, very fast-paced fight, and something so intense happened in a span of 10 seconds.

This made the audience gasp, amazed.

"WHOA!"

"DAMN!"

"Amazing! So this is what elementalists are like?"

"Ptooey! I’m an elementalist! My level is not much lower! I can’t handle a fraction of that!

"Neither are level 40 yet, right? They’re so strong!"

Watching this level of fight was rather risky since no one would protect the audience, so most people in the audience, at least at the front, were at least level 20. Anyone below either had companions around that level and were at the back, or abstained from watching at all.

It was regretful, but they could only settle with listening to other people’s stories.

The two exchanged several more blows, and there was an obvious shift towards enjoyment as they landed hits on each other.

Althea was amused. Was this the legendary fight-leads-to-friendship among boys?

A/N: Are y’all gonna get mad if I start another palette cleanser story? xD

I mean, writing one story for three years is exhausting. My brain needs a refresh while still updating this one, and the compromise is a new story updating in parallel, something I call a ’palette cleanser’.

The new alien apocalypse flopped, so I had to reduce updates, but I still need the other story to keep my brain from stagnating too much while still paying for my bills. Of course, it had to be something I enjoy writing.

So, well, I’ve already written like 30k words for a wealth-building story. It must be because I’m destitute right now so my brain leans towards this genre lol.

It’s set in a time period inspired by 1980s China a.k.a. The period of hoarding wealth and real estate. Lol. For those who read this genre, I added lotsa twists that should be fun. For those new to this genre, it may seem odd, but it could get quite addictive for wish-fulfillment.
