After Achieving Invincibility, I Set Out to Destroy Sects

Chapter 67: Visiting a Sworn Brother After So Long

  • Next Chapter

Months passed by as Bai Yue was still busy cultivating.

Nothing much had happened during this time, other than Jiang Yun having reached the Forming Dao array formation master level.

Now that Jiang Yun had reached this level, he didn’t feel like continuing any further on the path of array formations. He had been relaxing for a while, wondering what to do next.

During this time, Hua Jing had also ascended, and Jiang Yun introduced her to the junior disciple that he had recently picked up. Hua Jing could feel that her junior was far stronger than her, which made her feel extremely strange.

She was the first disciple of Jiang Yun, since Bai Yue wasn’t actually Jiang Yun’s disciple. Since she was the first disciple, being weaker than the youngest made her feel extremely bad.

Though Hua Jing was respected by Qiu Tao, it didn’t make her feel any better. This caused Hua Jing to have a burning passion to cultivate, as she didn’t want to be left behind.

Due to this, Hua Jing had been in seclusion ever since, not intending to come out. This seclusion would take a while, as Qiu Tao was now at the peak of the True Immortal realm.

With Hua Jing ascending, it won’t be long until the rest of the Invincible Cloud sect ascends and everyone reunites. Though the people here could descend at any time, it was still a hassle.

Other notable achievements were that Zhao Na had reached the late stage of True Immortal, as her talents weren’t as strong as Qiu Tao’s.

Another notable progress was that Ning Nuo reached the peak Heaven Immortal realm. Behind her were Tang Mei and Nangong Yu, reaching the peak of the Earth Immortal realm. Not too far behind them was Liu Ying, who had reached the early stage of Earth Immortal realm.

Everyone was growing fast, and Jiang Yun was quite satisfied. With this progress, reaching the Dao realm wouldn’t be impossible.

As Jiang Yun was thinking this, Bai Yanfei came out of seclusion, having reached the Golden Immortal realm. She had a face full of joy, as she had been stuck at the True Immortal realm for countless years.

As everyone was out of seclusion to take a break from cultivating for so long, the sect was once again lively with people.

Jiang Yun spent several days with these women, discussing anything they could think about, as they didn’t get to talk much with all the cultivating.

Though nobody will ever encounter danger with Jiang Yun around, if they don’t cultivate, one day they will run out of lifespan and leave Jiang Yun all alone. So, whenever anyone wasn’t cultivating these days, they would talk with Jiang Yun to keep him company.

Jiang Yun enjoyed the time he spent with these women, as it eased his boredom.

He was already at the pinnacle, and cultivating any further was simply a hobby. There was no real need to study things like alchemy or array formations, other than to pass the time.

Since he was now being kept company, there was no real need to continue doing so when so many people were out of seclusion.

As the days went by, Jiang Yun had time to instruct Qiu Tao on her continued progress on the law of time. She was progressing very quickly, and Jiang Yun wondered just how far she could go.

After everyone had their fill of downtime, they went back to seclusion, as they had spent too long messing around. This left Jiang Yun alone again, as he didn’t need to cultivate.

Since he didn’t have anything in particular to do, and now that he was alone, Jiang Yun decided to pay Qiu Zheng a visit after all this time.

After making sure the sect was completely safe and the defensive formation was working properly, Jiang Yun left the Invincible Cloud sect for the first time after several months.

It didn’t take long to reach Qiu Zheng’s sect, as Jiang Yun was now in the Harmonizing Dao realm. Upon arriving, Jiang Yun was very impressed by how the sect looked, as it was probably the most visually pleasing sect he had ever seen.

Not wanting to cause too much trouble, Jiang Yun decided to enter through the front gate to formally go in, as he didn’t feel like sneaking in.

Jiang Yun began descending from the sky towards the gate, which was guarded by strong members of the sect at the Heaven Immortal realm.

The guards saw Jiang Yun was approaching them and became wary, as he had appeared out of nowhere.

Once Jiang Yun had completely descended and was in front of them, the guards relaxed a bit, as Jiang Yun didn’t seem like he was here to cause trouble.

One of the guards asked, "What is your purpose in coming to the Immortal Mountain sect?"

Jiang Yun replied, "I am here to meet a friend."

The guard inquired further, "Who is this friend? We need to verify if this is true and that you aren’t an invader."

Jiang Yun was slightly unsure about saying the name, as he was trying to meet their sect leader. Saying his name might bring trouble, but Jiang Yun was truly here to meet him.

Jiang Yun in the end decided to answer, "I am here to look for Qiu Zheng."

The guard felt that the name was familiar but couldn’t put his finger on it. After some thought, he finally remembered.

The guard doubtfully asked, "Are you talking about the sect’s sect leader?"

Jiang Yun replied, "That's right. He is indeed the one I am talking about."

The guard now became very skeptical of Jiang Yun, as not just anyone can meet the sect leader. The only answer the guard could come to was that Jiang Yun was here to cause trouble.

The guard began to draw his weapon, as he no longer had a good impression of Jiang Yun since he was most likely an intruder.

Jiang Yun, seeing that the guard didn’t believe him and was mistaking him for an intruder, started to try to think of a way to resolve it peacefully.

After some thought, Jiang Yun decided on a method, unsure if it would work.

Jiang Yun noted, "I am Jiang Yun. I don’t know if the sect master ever mentioned me, but he has invited me to visit before."

The guard now stopped drawing his weapon, as he was now unsure if Jiang Yun was truly an intruder. From how calm Jiang Yun looked, the guard could guess Jiang Yun was speaking some truth.

Unsure what to do, as he didn’t have the authority to report to the sect leader, the guard was now stuck on what to do.

While the guard was thinking, a woman overhearing Jiang Yun came out of the sect gate, wondering what was going on.

The woman was very beautiful, with her long black hair flowing down to her waist as well as several defining features on her very white skin, which was unblemished. The woman was very eye-catching wherever she went.

The guards, seeing the woman, began to respectfully bow, as the woman seemed to have an important status in the sect.

The guard respectfully said, "Mistress, what brings you out to the sect gate today?"

The woman replied, "My husband has been busy lately, and I wanted to wander around the sect. I heard some commotion and wanted to see what was going on."

The guard reported, "This man here says he is here to see the sect master, as he has been invited. He said he is a friend of the sect master, and his name is Jiang Yun."

The woman, hearing the name, felt it sounded familiar as she began to wonder where she heard it from. After much thought, the woman finally remembered.

The woman asked, "Are you the master of my daughter?"

Jiang Yun replied, "That’s right, I was asked to be the master of Qiu Tao."

The woman became excited as she finally heard news of her daughter after several months, and she wanted to barrage Jiang Yun with questions.

The woman calmed down first, as she wanted to begin with introductions before anything.

The woman introduced herself, "I am Gu Biyao and, as you know, the mother of Qiu Tao. My husband has talked about you after he returned last time, and I remember your name."

Jiang Yun asked, "How has Qiu Zheng been lately?"

Gu Biyao replied, "After our daughter became your disciple, the sect has become a lot quieter, which has made him quite lonely. Though he is doing fine, he no longer has his daughter to play around with anymore."

Jiang Yun was surprised hearing this, as the noble Qiu Zheng he had met in the past had now become a family man that can’t live without his daughter.

Gu Biyao continued, "Other than our daughter, he talks a lot about you as he wonders when you will come to visit. He has waited for a long time now, but you have never come, which made him wonder if you will even accept his invitation."

Jiang Yun was a little embarrassed about keeping Qiu Zheng waiting for so long, as it has been months now.

Gu Biyao, having talked so long and making Jiang Yun wait outside the gate, realized she had been sidetracked too long and was being rude to a guest.

Gu Biyao politely said, "Let me take you to meet my husband, as this is no place to stand around and talk. My husband has been waiting for you to come for a long time, and he will be very excited to know you are here."

Gu Biyao gestured for Jiang Yun to follow and went back inside the sect through the front gate.

Now that he was allowed to enter, the guards stepped aside and Jiang Yun freely followed Gu Biyao to go find Qiu Zheng.
