Chapter 66: Bai Yue’s Mother Becomes Interested

Jiang Yun continued his work on learning array formations, as he wanted to reach the Beginning Dao array formation master level as soon as possible.

During this time, while Jiang Yun was deeply immersed in learning, Bai Yanfei came and watched him as she started to gain an interest in the person in front of her.

She was surprised and happy that her daughter had found someone like this to be her backer.

Bai Yanfei tried to observe Jiang Yun for a long time to try and understand him, as this power was simply too unbelievable to be real.

As the days passed and she couldn’t find anything, she became even more confused at how Jiang Yun was so powerful.

After a month, Bai Yanfei gave up on trying to understand, as this was beyond her ability to comprehend. Instead, she just watched Jiang Yun immersed in learning array formations, as he seemed to be able to do anything.

Though Bai Yanfei couldn’t understand Jiang Yun’s power, after a month of observing, she noticed Jiang Yun was very fast at learning array formations.

After just a month, he had reached the Immortal Emperor array formation master level. This was an existence that you would barely ever find in the Immortal Realm.

This type of existence is monopolized by the largest forces in the Immortal World, and you are simply unable to come into contact with this level of existence.

For Bai Yanfei, this was the first time she had seen an Immortal Emperor array formation master.

As she continued to watch, Jiang Yun exited his immersion, as he had been studying array formations for too long and was starting to lose motivation.

Bai Yanfei quickly turned away, as she didn’t want Jiang Yun to know he was being watched this entire time.

Jiang Yun already knew and didn’t care, as it didn’t matter to him if someone watched as long as they didn’t interrupt him in the process.

Jiang Yun, now awake, turned to Bai Yanfei and asked, "What are your plans now? Do you still want to stay here with your daughter or go back to your family, as you have been gone so long?"

Bai Yanfei replied, "I will continue to stay here and wait for my daughter unless something unexpected happens. I have missed too much of my daughter’s life and want to catch up on lost time."

Jiang Yun, understanding this, asked something else, "Doesn’t your family need you back, as you came here on a whim?"

Bai Yanfei noted, "I am just a daughter of the family, so they don’t care all that much about me, so they won’t miss that I am gone, other than my father. The real person they care about is my talented daughter that I have already found."

Jiang Yun inquired further, "What about Bai Yue’s father? Won’t your husband miss you for being gone so long?"

Bai Yanfei responded, "My husband died a long time ago when protecting the family from invaders after Bai Yue was born. There really isn’t anyone in particular left in the family."

Noticing there was indeed no problem in her staying here, Jiang Yun didn’t push any further and dropped the matter.

Bai Yanfei began asking her own question, "So how strong are you exactly? I have never seen anyone as strong as you."

Jiang Yun replied, "Have you ever heard of the Dao realm?"

Thinking about Jiang Yun’s question, Bai Yanfei said, "I do remember hearing about it before. It should be the world after Immortal Emperor."

Jiang Yun stated, "That’s right, it is indeed after the Immortal Emperor realm. There is a world above this one that contains those at that level."

Bai Yanfei said in shock, "So this realm really does exist? It has circulated around, but no one has ever seen someone at that realm."

Jiang Yun noted, "I have reached that level, and it is why I am so strong."

Bai Yanfei thought about it and realized it was true. This level of power was far beyond the level of an Immortal Emperor and it is only this level of existence that can have this power.

Bai Yanfei asked, "Does that mean you are the strongest person in existence?"

Jiang Yun responded, "I believe I am the strongest, as I haven’t met an opponent stronger than me."

Bai Yanfei inquired further, "Would it be possible for either me or Bai Yue to reach that level one day?"

Jiang Yun stated, "As long as either of you continue to cultivate with me around, it is not impossible to reach such a level."

Bai Yanfei didn’t quite believe it and asked, "What makes you so confident that we can reach this level? So many have tried before me and failed, never even getting close to attempting such a feat."

Jiang Yun took out Beginning Dao pills as well as other pills for an Immortal of Bai Yanfei’s level and gave them to her.

Bai Yanfei, confused, looked closely at what Jiang Yun just gave her and immediately recognized what they were.

The items in her hands right now were very hard to obtain, as so few Immortal-level alchemists exist. Even if one could find one, they charge an exorbitant price for pills.

The pills Jiang Yun just gave were pills that could empty out the treasure of the Bai family, so Bai Yanfei was shocked by Jiang Yun’s wealth.

Bai Yanfei noted, "I can’t accept such valuable items. Take them back, I can’t afford to use something of such a high level."

Jiang Yun replied, "Those pills mean nothing to me, as I have mountains more of them. Just take them and cultivate, as you still have a daughter to stay beside from now on."

Bai Yanfei was reluctant, but decided to take the pills in the end. She now felt very deep gratitude toward Jiang Yun for all he had done for her.

Bai Yanfei felt she would never be able to repay Jiang Yun for the rest of her life and didn’t know what to do.

Jiang Yun, seeing Bai Yanfei’s reluctance, added, "You need to continue to cultivate to expand your lifespan. Once you reach the Dao realm, your lifespan will become infinite, and you will no longer die of old age."

Bai Yanfei, having received another piece of shocking news, replied, "Dao realms are able to live forever?"

Jiang Yun answered, "As long as a Dao realm doesn’t die from unnatural causes, such as being killed by someone, it is impossible to kill them by waiting for them to grow old."

Bai Yanfei now wanted to reach the Dao realm, as who wouldn’t want to live forever? If she could, then spending every day with her daughter wouldn’t be impossible, as no one in the Immortal realm would be her opponent.

Seeing Bai Yanfei now motivated, Jiang Yun said, "You don’t have to worry about running out of Immortal energy while you are here. Once I improve the Immortal energy gathering array, the Immortal energy will become even denser. Cultivating will be as easy as breathing."

Bai Yanfei now completely believed in what Jiang Yun was saying, as the level of power displayed was more than enough proof.

With all these benefits presented in front of her, she would be a fool not to take advantage and continue to progress in her cultivation.

Bai Yanfei now wanted to quickly go cultivate to increase her strength, since if she continued to wait, even her daughter would catch up to her.

This gave a strange feeling to her, as what kind of mother becomes weaker than her daughter and has to be protected by her child? It is the duty of the mother to protect the daughter, not the other way around.

Now with even more motivation, Bai Yanfei left to find somewhere to cultivate, as she needed to enter a long seclusion to enter the next realm of Golden Immortal.

After Bai Yanfei left, Jiang Yun was by himself again, as everyone else was busy cultivating due to the Immortal energy being far too dense right now for them not to cultivate.

Since he now had time, Jiang Yun went to the edge of the Invincible Cloud Sect to rework the Immortal energy gathering array as well as the defensive array.

Now, as an Immortal Emperor array formation master, even if an Immortal Emperor came to cause trouble, they wouldn’t be able to damage the sect in any way due to the defensive array.

Once Jiang Yun finished both the defensive array and Immortal energy gathering array, Jiang Yun felt satisfied by the current state of the Invincible Cloud Sect, as it was an impregnable fortress.

With that done and after a short break, Jiang Yun went back to studying array formations, now attempting to finally reach the Beginning Dao realm array formation master level.
